Amara was coming from the restroom. She was feeling uneasy, and she went to relieve herself. The party was still on, and many people were discussing the game challenge.
Someone was standing in the hall, backing in the direction Amara was coming From. Amara was going to join Teni on their seat when this man turned back to go into the direction Amara was coming from. The collision between this man and Amara caught the attention of almost everyone in the hall.
"Awsh," Amara screamed unconsciously.
"I am sorry, young lady, I didn't know you were coming", the man said genuinely.
The man didn't know what to do, he didn't want to start caressing her head.
"I saw you are standing, but you didn't look you're behind before you suddenly turned to move," Amara spoke in pain.
The man looked helpless, "You are right, It's all my fault".
Teni heard Amara's screaming of Amara, and she quickly rushed to the scene. Some other people joined, and they began to ask questions.
Teni quickly gets ice to massage the forehead, "Sorry, my dear." She tried to massage the forehead more, "Are you feeling better now?". Teni's voice was sincere.
"Please, help me massage her head, it's all my fault." The man blushed in shame as he spoke to Teni.
"It's ok, don't worry I will be fine", Amara said softly.
Dennis, still don't know what has happened. He was somewhere in the hall discussing with some of his guests. The gathering of people caught his attention; he asked someone while people were gathering. He was curious maybe another game is starting soon.
Amara raised her head as she attempted to move to her seat. Teni has massaged the place, and it doesn't swell again.
"Oh, that is Amara ". He quickly stood up to go meet her.
"Amara, what happened? "he raised an eyebrow.
"It's all my fault; I had a head collision with her". The man said softly.
Dennis's heart raised, "Omg! Why didn't you look your front. See what you have caused now?". He didn't know when he raised his voice at the man.
"It's ok, I am fine now," Amara said, smiling.
"I am at fault too; I should have passed another side rather than going straight towards where he was standing," Amara said softly.
"Oh, No. You are not at fault". Dennis didn't know where that caring came from. He didn't want to care that much, but he couldn't just keep the emotions to himself.
The man walked to where Amara was sitting and apologized genuinely again, "I am so sorry, dear lady, please pardon me".
Amara smiled, "There is no problem sir. You can go now".
The man felt relieved of guilt, "thank you!".
He chuckled and left where they were sitting. As he was leaving, he turned to Teni, "Thank you, too, for the first aid treatment. "
Teni's voice went low "It's not a big deal; you are welcome."
The man finally left, and Dennis was just looking at the man. His actions wanted to get him angry, not because the man wasn't genuine in his apologies, but because the emotions Dennis was having for Amara made him want to be angry at the man.
"I am sorry, I wasn't there to help immediately. His voice was calm and warm.
Amara grinned, "You can't be with us all the time; you are the celebrant."
Teni raised an eyebrow, "We are not kids, OK?".
Dennis got confused with what Teni said: "I am not calling you kids… I am… just saying If I was with you at that moment, I would have been of help too".
Teni grinned, "I don't trust you; who knows, maybe you would slap the man."
"Why would I slap him?" He asked in curiosity.
Teni's face widened, "You almost beat the man when you came. Now, considering you were there when the collision happened, what would you have done to the man?".
Amara burst into soft laughter; she was enjoying the flow between the two of them.
She knows Dennis was feeling guilty for not being there on time to show her caring.
"I won't still beat him, I can't," he said softly.
"But I can ask the security to lock him up, though," he said jokingly.
"Because of Amara now, you want to lock someone up" Teni's Sound surprised!
"Leave that!" Dennis wanted to change the discussion. He didn't want to sound caring And make it seem that he was already in love with Amara.
"Hope you are fine now, Amara." he gave her a soft smile.
"I am perfectly ok now, I am not feeling any pain again.". She smiled back.
"Thank you Teni!" Amara turned to her friend and showed a gesture of appreciation.
"You are always welcome" Teni's voice was soft.
Teni wanted to start banter, she looked at Amara with humor. She doesn't want to remind her of the pain, but still, she wants to make him lively more.
"I thought Amara's head had flown away when I heard her scream." Teni's voice sounded off.
Amara burst into laughter, "See life, my head flew away and still calls you, right?". Amara has fully come back to be lively, "I still have my head intact, is."
That one banter kept the presence lively for more than five minutes. Dennis was just laughing and wondering how connected the two of them were.
He was very surprised to see Amara making jokes again; he thought she would be down for a long time.
"You, too, won't stop to amaze me; I love your spirits," Dennis said softly.
Amara and Teni chuckled, "She is my friend; we know how we run our things," Amara responded.
"It's good to have a friend that can bring out the child in someone", Dennis said sincerely.
"Hmm, you are right." Teni nodded in agreement.
"Teni is a blessing. She has always been there for me in my tough moments." Amara's voice went slow as she acknowledged Teni's generosity.
"I am glad you are best of friends," Dennis said with a smile all over his face.
The pain is gone and the party is still rolling, though softly. Teni and Amara wanted to have ladies' gist. They are gesturing themselves already. Dennis caught their eyes and smiled.
"I am leaving you to have your gist; don't think I don't know you wanted to" " he said warmly as he stood up.
They both chuckled… and told him to be fine.
