Chapter 1: The Price of Betrayal
The celestial palace loomed above the land, its marble towers shining like the very heavens themselves. Ren stood at its gates, his eyes burning with an emotion he had never felt before—rage. His once-innocent heart, full of dreams and kindness, had been shattered in an instant. The love of his life, Amelia, had died in a cruel scheme. Or so he thought.
Now, the truth had been revealed. His love had never been a victim—she had been the architect of his torment. The pendant she had gifted him, once a symbol of affection, had been the weapon that slowly corroded his soul. A poison that had been silently killing him for years, weakening his power, and making him a puppet in the hands of the heavens.
Ren's fist clenched around the hilt of his sword, the weapon pulsing with a dark energy, as though it too sensed his shifting emotions. His heart, once a wellspring of kindness, was now filled with icy resolve.
"I will destroy them all," Ren whispered through clenched teeth, the words tasting like poison on his tongue.
He strode forward, each step more powerful than the last, his aura growing with every moment. The guards at the palace gates, sensing the overwhelming pressure of his energy, stepped back in fear. Ren paid them no mind. His eyes were fixed on the one who had betrayed him—the Heavenly Emperor.
Inside the grand hall of the celestial palace, the Emperor sat upon his golden throne, surrounded by his loyal generals and celestial advisors. The air was thick with power, an almost tangible sense of divinity that clung to the marble pillars and walls. At the far end of the room, a figure stood in the shadows. It was Amelia.
"You have come, Ren," the Heavenly Emperor's voice boomed, shaking the very foundation of the palace. "I knew you would eventually figure out the truth. Too bad it's too late."
Ren's eyes narrowed. "Where is Amelia?" he demanded. "Tell me, Heavenly Emperor! Where is she? Is she alive or not?"
The Emperor chuckled darkly, leaning back in his throne. "She is alive, of course. But you should know by now, Ren, that the one you loved was never truly yours. She was always my daughter first. And I, always her master."
Ren felt a chill run down his spine. His heart twisted, a feeling of betrayal so deep that it threatened to swallow him whole. He turned his gaze to Amelia, his voice breaking as he asked, "Amelia… was it all a lie?"
Her eyes met his, but they held no warmth.Ren's heart skipped a beat.
There she was, as beautiful and serene as ever, her long golden hair cascading down her back like the rays of the sun. But there was no warmth in her smile. No affection in her eyes. She stood beside the Heavenly Emperor, her expression cold and indifferent. No love. Just cold indifference. She stepped forward, her voice smooth and emotionless.
"Yes, Ren," she said softly. "It was all a lie. You were always just a tool. A weapon. My father used you to eliminate the threats to his rule. And I played my part. You were never meant to be the hero. You were meant to be the fool."
Ren's chest tightened. The pendant. The gift she had given him—the symbol of their love—was nothing but a curse. His hand shot to his neck, grasping the pendant tightly, as if trying to stop the poison that had been slowly eating away at him for years.
And then, it all clicked. The Soul-Corroding Poison—the very poison she had used to weaken him. The one she had secretly given him when they first met. All this time, the heavens had kept him in check, manipulating him through the poison, keeping him from realizing his true power. He had been a puppet, dancing on invisible strings.
"You poisoned me… with this," Ren whispered, his voice shaking with fury. "You let me suffer. You let me believe in a lie. Why?"
Amelia's face twisted with a mixture of sadness and indifference. "Because you were too powerful, Ren. Too dangerous. You had the potential to dethrone my father and upset the balance of the heavens. You had to be controlled."
Ren's vision blurred. His once calm and composed demeanor was now crumbling, his rage threatening to consume him whole. How could she? How could the one person he trusted betray him so completely?
The Heavenly Emperor rose from his throne, his voice cold as ice. "You were never meant to defy the heavens. Now, you will pay the price for your rebellion."
Ren's hand tightened around his sword, and with a single, decisive movement, he drew it from its sheath. His aura surged, filling the entire room with an oppressive, malevolent force. The time for words had passed. Now, there was only the taste of vengeance in his mouth.
Amelia's eyes widened in shock. "Ren, no… Please! Don't—"
But it was too late.
With a roar, Ren surged forward, his sword cutting through the air with a terrifying force. The divine generals who had stood by the Heavenly Emperor fell before him like wheat before a scythe, their bodies torn apart by the sheer force of Ren's strike.
Amelia stood frozen, unable to move, her heart racing. She had never seen Ren like this—his once-gentle nature was replaced by a cold, merciless killer. He was no longer the man she had loved. He was something far more dangerous.
The Heavenly Emperor raised his hand, attempting to summon his divine powers, but Ren was faster. In an instant, he appeared before the Emperor, his sword already poised to strike.
"This ends now," Ren declared, his voice cold and devoid of emotion.
With a swift motion, Ren drove his sword into the Heavenly Emperor's chest, piercing the heart of the being who had once ruled the heavens. The Emperor's body crumpled, his divine light flickering and dying as Ren's blade drained the last of his life force.
Ren stood over the fallen emperor, his chest heaving with anger and pain. His heart was broken, but it had also hardened. His past life—his kindness, his innocence—was now a distant memory. He was the Slaughter God now. The heavens had made him this way.
As Ren turned his gaze toward Amelia, his eyes were filled with nothing but cold fury. The woman who had once held his heart now stood before him as nothing more than a traitor.
He's heart was in so much pain ,he tried to resolve the true problem from the root and rest in peace but alas ,before he could do anything a mighty thunder strike him and shredded his body in to tiney particles..
