Cassiel comes to the balcony, his eyes locked on the rose in Immith's hand. His nostrils flared up in anger as he recalled Prince Angelus handing her the flower.
He narrowed his fiery eyes at Immith. Scanning her body from head to toe, lines formed in between his eyes. He recognized her as the girl from the lake with Princess Runa.
"Angelus," He walked passed Captain Davon and Prince Angelus's entourage. Angelus met him halfway, all the more happy to see him.
"You've plagued my mind since last we spoke, Cassiel," Angelus admitted shaking hands with Cassiel. He sensed Cassiel's tension and followed his line of sight to the flower in Immith's hand. "A silly tradition of Sevigoria," he lightly stated. "Uhm...she's my cousin, Lady Immith Kilgore, adopted daughter of my distant uncle, Perseus Kilgore," Angelus took a minute to introduce Immith to Cassiel. "He's Cassiel Stormborn, my friend."
"Nice to meet you, Sir," Lady Immith gave Cassiel a fine curtsy.
"Pleasure is mine," said Cassiel. "I need to speak to you..." he paused and stared at Immith and the many people that surrounded them. "In private," his tone pressed on the urgency of the matter.
"Of course," Angelus happily agreed. "Wait for me here," he ordered his guards and attendants.
"Yes, Your Royal Highness," they accepted the order.
Cassiel pulled Prince Angelus away to the privacy of one of the rooms. Instantly, he pinned the prince to the wall and pressed his body against his.
His eyes keep Angelus captured as the rest of the world goes on around them. It's as if they're taking that moment to read each other and see what the other is feeling.
Cassiel's face looked pained as if he was carrying Angelus's hurt. It suddenly makes Angelus ache for him and not for himself anymore. Cassiel took note of the change in Angelus's emotion because his eyes bounced back and forth between the prince before he wrapped his hand into the back of Angelus's hair and pulled him in for a kiss.
When his lips meet Angelus's, his whole world stops, and Angelus feels as if he is melting into his shapeshifter. Kissing was becoming their second language and it has Angelus's emotions running wild. This was new for him.
His lips move with the prince's as if he's lost in him, and he wants nothing more than to own me with this kiss, and he does. That one kiss owns all of Angelus, along with his heart.
The feel of his tongue sweeping across his bottom lip causes flutters in Angelus's stomach. His kiss is so gentle, yet filled with so much passion that Angelus feels breathless in his embrace.
Cassiel pulls away and rubs his thumb over Angelus's cheek, leaving him utterly speechless. "You look handsome," he whispers. "So handsome that everyone keeps gawking at you. And I can't help but want to claim you for myself."
Angelus's heart swells from his words, and he finds himself gripping onto Cassiel's hands as he holds his gaze. Cassiel got his complete attention, and to be honest, no one else can capture it quite like he does. Prince Angelus could sit there and look into Cassiel's eyes forever and never get tired of trying to figure them out.
"Did your father agree to your demands?" Cassiel asked, his breath hitting Angelus's skin as he spoke.
Angelus gave him a light nod, his lips aching for another kiss. To be consumed in the passion Cassiel offered and forget his troubles. The world seemed unimportant in the presence of his shapeshifter.
"I have him and his councilmen shivering in fear. They won't attempt any schemes so soon," he muttered. "I won't let my guard down either in case they try something," he added.
His nerves shoot through him, and the tiny moment with Cassiel sets his world ablaze with undefined sensations.
Cassiel reaches out to hold his hand, Angelus stares down at the hand holding his before raising his head to meet Cassiel's gaze. Cassiel flashes him a dimpled smile and speaks, "I know your feelings are for Gael but I..."
They were interrupted when the door swung wide open and Lady Saskia walked in. Her entrance forced Prince Angelus to pull away from Cassiel's hold. He took a few steps back and put a cautious distance between them. Cassiel frowned.
"Angelus, I missed you a lot," Lady Saskia sauntered further into the room. "We had to part too soon on our last encounter. We didn't get to discuss our upcoming engagement," she let out in pure bliss.
"Engagement?" Cassiel asked, his eyes squinting at Angelus in disbelief at the icy news. A pained feeling settled in his eyes.
Prince Angelus waved his arm to dispel his worries. "I never agreed to get married to you, Lady Saskia. So don't go around spreading false truths," he uttered.
"But Queen Rosalyn has spoken of our marriage. She's approached my family with the proposal. The only thing left is the payment of dowry and a wedding ceremony," Lady Saskia inched closer to Prince Angelus, she linked her arm with his and held him close.
Cassiel went red with jealousy. His eyes glared daggers at their hooked arms, and a tinge of envy settled in the depths of his heart. She could hold him openly while he couldn't, a fact that left a sour taste in his mouth.
"You and I are to be wed. Surely we should spend the time getting acquainted," Lady Saskia suggested. Her eyes fluttered at Cassiel to excuse them. Taking the hint all too well, Cassiel sighed. "Excuse me," he stormed out of the room and slammed the door shut behind him.
Prince Angelus's eyes darkened. His beautiful moment with Cassiel was cut short by Lady Saskia, on top of that, Cassiel stormed off, clearly mad at Saskia's rude behavior towards him. His eyes grew cold as he turned to face the woman glued to his arm.
"What in the name of Sevigoria possessed you to come here and utter this gibberish nonsense?!" he asked, his pulse racing, Angelus held himself back from pressing her against the wall while choking the life out of her.
"Ang...Angelus... well I thought..."
"It's Prince Angelus to you," he corrected her.
Lady Saskia gulped, her heart picking up the pace and pounding hard against her chest. She unlinked their arms and consciously took a step back from him.
"Let me make one thing clear to you, that man who just walked out of this room is the most important person to me right now. So anyone who offends him offends me. You don't want to find out what happens when I get offended, believe me," he spoke up, a vein about to pop open in his head. "Don't cross my path again, Lady Saskia. Or I might forget you're a lady and do the unthinkable to you," Angelus lay the threat on his way out.
He needed to find Cassiel and explain the misunderstanding. His feet hurried behind the man's tracks without looking back.
