Chapter 4 - 004 To The Library

Carina led Kaen through various halls as Kaen watched his surroundings curiously.

She then led him to a room at the end of a corridor. The door was made out of thick dark wood with intricate carvings of what looked like a magic circle etched into it.

Carina turned towards Kaen, who was behind her. "This room is a teleportation room; the castle is too big for us to walk to the library," she informed him.

But Kaen stopped listening to her after she said the word "teleportation." His eyes widened in surprise while his heartbeat quickened.

But he still feigned innocence as he calmed his heart and tilted his head, "Teleportation?"

Carina watched his reaction and facepalmed herself, "That's right, that little girl didn't teach you anything!" She complained about her little sister for a while before turning to Kaen and grabbing his hand.

"I will explain what it is in the library, little one. But first," she didn't finish her sentence as she turned to the door and opened it, and the duo walked inside.

Inside the room, the walls were filled with blue-coloured gems that shone the moment the duo entered inside.

In the middle of the room was a big magic circle with an intricate design and runes etched into the floor.

Kaen felt a little chilly as they stepped on the magic circle. He turned toward his aunt, who was looking back at the closed door, "Take us to the library."

As if the room had a life of its own, it roared into action as the gems etched to the walls shone brighter than before while the magic circle below glowed intensely.

Kaen squeezed his aunt's hand, feeling a little nervous and excited at the same time, "It's okay, kaen."

His aunt whispered as the light around them twisted and bent into strange shapes, and soon enough, there was a "poof" sound, and the duo disappeared.

….

In another part of the castle.

POOF

The duo reappeared in another part of the castle, and immediately, Kaen went onto his knees.

He clutched his head as he felt slightly disoriented. Carina, watching her nephew clutching his head, immediately crouched down beside him.

"I am sorry, little one. The first time will be a little disorientating," Carina said with a hint of worry on her face.

She immediately cupped his face with her hands, making Kaen widen his eyes in shock as a cool sensation filled his mind.

His nausea and the slight headache disappeared instantly, replaced by a cool sensation.

He looked at her aunt's hands, and sure enough, her palms were glowing golden.

Her blood-red eyes darted around his face in worry, searching for any discomfort, "I am sorry, little one. Are you okay, now?" She said, in a low apologetic voice.

Kaen held her hands with his while he nodded in reply, "I am okay, aunt."

The duo didn't continue for a few moments as Carina wanted to make sure Kaen was okay.

They resumed walking, and soon they reached a hall, and at the end of the hall was a huge door.

'It's almost five metres wide,' Kaen commented as he observed the door.

The door, like before, was made out of thick dark wood and had runes carved into it.

They reached the door and Kaen waited for his aunt to push the door open. But instead, "Open." She commanded.

'Of course,' Kaen muttered to himself as the doors creaked open, revealing a massive library with hundreds of rows of shelves filled with books ranging from magic to history.

'Just how many books are there in here?' Kaen thought as he gazed at the whole library in wonder.

"Let's go," Carina muttered as she walked towards a certain shelf.

But Kaen didn't follow her; instead, he continued gazing at the library. He felt his heart race while he clenched his jaw as he felt a range of emotions from nervousness to excitement.

"Alright!" Kaen muttered under his breath as he followed his aunt.

….

Kaen's POV

Time flowed like the wind as I began studying under Aunt Carina, and a year had passed.

Aunt Carina was very detailed as she taught me many things, ranging from the basics to the truth about our family.

But the first shock to me was just how much I underestimated the size of our castle. It wasn't just big!

No! The castle is almost as big as a huge mega city back on earth!

A castle as big as a city for just six fucking people! Damn!

But that wasn't the end; I got another minor shock when my aunt explained that we were royalty, and I am the sole prince!

It didn't shock me as it did about the size of the castle. I already figured that out from the interior of the castle and the paintings.

But my biggest shock came to me when I learned the size of our kingdom.

No, it cannot be called a kingdom, nor an empire. Because it didn't just span across continents, nor a world.

No, our kingdom is the sixth of the fucking UNIVERSE!

Take that, Alexander! Who's so great now, eh?

Anyway, from my studies and my aunt's explanation, I found out that I wasn't human, but an Asura.

From what I figured, an Asura is like an evolved form of a demon with extreme, over-the-top physical strength and magical abilities.

There are many races in the entire universe, too many to count, but there are seven main ones, each forming an empire of their own.

They are: Vampires, Humans, Demons, Golems, Beastkin, Elves, and finally Dragons.

Of course, each has their own sub-races that come under these seven main races, which are too many to list.

Although there weren't any wars happening between these huge empires, tensions were always a little high.

…..

Kaen sighed to himself, thinking about all the things he had learned until now as he closed the book before turning to his aunt, who was sitting across the table.

"Finished?" she asked as she put down the teacup in her hands.

"Mhmm," he mumbled in reply.

"Then, let's go. They must be waiting for us," she said with a smile as she extended her hand toward me.

Kaen returned the smile, but instead of holding her hand, he got out of his chair and went to her side and hugged her tightly around her waist while burying his head in her bosom.

Carina's heart melted when her nephew hugged her tightly, her blood-red eyes softened as she muttered gently, "You must be tired from all the reading."

To which, Kaen only nodded his head.

She then kissed him on top of his head, "Tell you what. Since my nephew is so diligent, I shall prepare your favorite dish!"

Kaen's eyes went wide as his heart thumped in excitement; Carina was the best cook in his family, although the food was prepared by the servants. Kaen liked his aunt's cooking the most.

He released her from his hug and looked at her with anticipation, and asked, "Really!?" His ruby-like eyes shining excitedly.

Carina's smile widened as she kissed my forehead and replied, "Yes."

"Yay!" Kaen exclaimed as he hugged her again, gave his aunt a kiss on the cheek, and said, "Thank you, Aunt!"

"Fufufu, anything for my cute nephew."
