After they went to Dr. Kim's eyes scanned the room for something. "There has to be a way out of here," he said.
Ethan looked after her, but all he could see was the clock on the wall, their faces shining. Then he saw something - small, near a seam in the wall.
"Dr. Kim, look!" He said pointing to the seam.
Dr. Kim's eyes widened as she quickly headed for the wall. He pressed on the seam, and a small section of the wall slid open to reveal a thin opening.
"One more time, Ethan!" Dr. Kim begged him to follow her.
Ethan didn't hesitate. He squeezed out of the narrow corridor, his heart pounding in his chest. The air was thick with dust, and he could hear the sound of mice scurrying from the depths of the street.
As they walked down the street, Ethan couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched. He kept looking over his shoulder, hoping to catch the owner's voice in the shadows.
But there was no one there.
Finally they left the road, glinting in the light of the bell tower. The clock face rose above them, her hands clenched in a vicious thud.
Ethan's eyes locked on the clock as Dr. Kim shook his hand. "We have to get out of here now!" she shouted.
But Ethan couldn't move. The clock fixed him, his face seeming to grow bigger and bigger as the seconds passed.
Then he heard the voice again. "You're not running," it said. "The bell tower will fall, and you'll be trapped forever."
Ethan's heart sank as he turned to Dr. Kim. "We have to get out of here now!" he shouted.
But Dr. Kim's words were a terrible shock. "I'm afraid it's too late," he said. "The bell tower has fallen, and we have escaped.".
