Ethan's heart pounded, and he scanned the room to see what Dr. King had said. But there was no one in sight. All he could hear was the clatter of the clock and the hum of the neon lights.
Suddenly the lights came back on, and the air grew colder. Ethan felt a presence in the room, as if it were watching him.
Chapter
Ethan asked, his voice trembling.
Doctor King Kim focused on something across the room. "I'm not sure," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "But I think he's trying to talk to us."
Ethan followed Dr. King, but saw nothing out of the ordinary. The wall clock seemed to be ticking, the ticking getting louder, the air getting colder.
Suddenly, the clock stopped ticking. The room was silent except for Ethan's heavy breathing.
Then a voice came. Its voice was low, hollow, as if it were coming from all directions.
"Get out while you can," the voice cried.
Ethan's breathing quickened as he turned to Dr. King. "What should we do?" he asked.
Dr. Eye Kim turned her attention to the clock in the middle of the room. "I think we should try to talk to him," she said.
Ethan was very scared. "Are you drunk?" he asked. "It's just telling us to get out!"
Dr. King looked calm. "I think it's trying to warn us," he said. "But I think it's also trying to tell us something else. It's important."
Ethan hesitated, not knowing what to do. But Dr. King cried in his mind. What if the voice was trying to tell them something important? What if they could uncover a secret that would change everything?
Ethan sighed and nodded. "Yes," he said. "Let's get started."
Dr. Jin smiled with a look on his face. "Let's try to talk to him," he said. "But we have to be careful. We don't know what we're getting into.".
