Chapter 1 - 1) Death Reset

Open your eyes, and in that world, you shall vanquish all evil.

A throne plagued by corrupted nobles.

A King who has yet to play his role.

Who are you in this story?

A simple passerby?

A common man?

A merchant?

A war general?

There are still many things to be explored yet, you chose what was deemed impossible.

In that abyss, you stared—enemies encircling the one holy place. Rampant cowardice took place in that forbidden hall.

Yet…

You who served the Kingdom stood within the place.

Protecting your last brethren.

"I may be someone of high status, but that does not mean I will let you have your way any further."

Cloaked with the blood of his enemies, an armor that shines through even in the darkest times.

It was as if everything was some sort of a play.

'Medieval? So what of it?'

[MISSION FAILURE]

[-OBLITERATION OF THE HOST'S SOUL]

One moment is all that it takes for me to die by their hands, but.

"I REFUSE TO DIE WITHOUT HAVING TO HAVE DONE ANYTHING!!"

The roar of a King, that one last battle cry rendered the enemies incapable of movement momentarily.

His enemies shuddered in fear, their swords, spears, and bows quaked by the rage of the cornered King.

Yes, that's right. Due to my cheat ability, even in the face of death, I have not faltered even once.

An endeavor that lasted for 3 decades only for my empire to fall.

Surrounded, I still had the strength to laugh that assures my certain death.

Lock in place, with no hope of survival. It was what I was aiming for from the start.

"KING OF TYRANNY! YOUR REIGN OF EVIL HAS ENDED!! TODAY! RIGHT HERE AND NOW! WE SHALL VANQUISH YOU! THE ROOT OF THIS ALL!"

A general cladded in pristine silver armor shouted with fierceness.

His roar was that of a war veteran who had gone into countless battlefields, and even his allies grew wary of him.

'Yes, General Flavius.'

'Dying by the hands of my loyal retainer isn't all that bad.'

I smiled inwardly, with a wave of my hand, I brushed off the cloak adorned with countless blood.

"HERE ME! FORMER GENERAL FLAVIUS SARIUS! FROM TODAY ONWARDS YOU'RE THE MOST HEINOUS TRAITOR OF MY EMPIRE! AND FOR THAT! YOU'RE TO BE JUDGED BY YOUR ONE AND ONLY KING!"

As loud as it is, what lies under those words, the countless masks I wore was the prosperity of my people.

With my last judgment, with the sword I'm holding, engraved within the cracked floor.

However, when I looked at the sword of a King, it was very much ordinary, with not a single name carved in it nor any adorned trinkets hanging around its hand. However, undeniably so, it is my sword.

The sword that had cut off countless lives, irredeemable by the law.

General Flavius stared fiercely, not with the slightest bit of animosity but with reverence.

One last time, the general showed respect to his King by a simple bow.

In turn of that slightest respect, I nodded. Signaling my death.

One moment, one moment is all that it takes for it to end everything. Having lived here for an nth of my life, I somehow grew fond of them to have even memorized all of their names…

"THIS ENDS NOW REBEL GENERAL FLAVIUS!"

I shouted with a loud charge.

"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA--!!"

This battle may have ended with the unsightly appearance of a King but, I'm glad that even after all these years. They have not forgotten their oath.

"GLORY TO THE EMPIRE!!"

My rebellious soldiers shouted in unison as they greeted me with their swords and spears.

A whisper left along with my last stand as their King as I approached the General with the intention to kill.

"I'm glad that you've all managed to strengthen your resolve."

"Right, Flavius?"

With my sword lunging toward the General, in that split second, we stared eye to eye.

"My King…"

The General's expression was filled with sorrowful regrets as the cold weapon surrounding me was etched within my body, riddling it with holes.

"GUH!!"

The noble blood of a King drenched the red carpet in his blood.

Pierced by his citizens, not a sign of regret was shown as he faced all of them.

"General… Before I die… As the ruler of this empire… I…"

The King stared at the General.

"Appoint you as King."

At that moment, I drew my last breath. Leaving behind my people whom I cherished dearly.

Light seeped through the pillars arches, ending the final battle only to be left with the silent cry of my people.

[THANK YOU FOR YOUR HARD WORK, HOST]

The blue panel shows itself in front of me while traversing back into my original world through a soul warp.

I stood there, with not a hint of joy upon seeing the things I've gained through this life.

'No matter how many times I've seen and experienced it, dying is as painful as it gets.'

After looking at the panel system, I stared at it coldly with a glare.

"Go to Story."

[AUTHORITY TO READ THROUGH STORY HAS BEEN CONFIRMED]

[PROCEEDING TO STORY]

The screen reward then shifted into a big panel with different content of rectangular boxes with countless images.

Upon looking up at the entire list, there I found, the world that I descended in.

MORAN EMPIRE.

The image had once been an image of ruination with an alert level of unranked.

But now.

"I knew that Flavius would spare my bloodline."

I smiled in emptiness as I read through his records.

"He's still the good-hearted fellow I remembered him to be."

I then raised my hand and tapped the screen image of the MORAN EMPIRE. Upon tapping it, countless records suddenly popped up pertaining to the world's history.
