Zir dashed towards me, but the speed he moved with made it seem as though he had teleported.
I had no time even to use my Golden Eye, forcing me to react on pure reflexes.
He was eye to eye with me, preparing an open-palmed strike towards my abdomen. I crossed my arms in an attempt to block, but I wasn't quick enough; the strike broke through.
His palm crushed into my chest, and the impact was incredible, sending me flying backward.
At the trajectory I was traveling, I was going to fly off the castle and into the field below. However, before I fell off the roof, Zir vanished again, and I was hit with a crushing blow from behind, which sent me flying back the way I came.
Then again, and again, like a tennis ball, I was being batted around, but by only one man.
It all happened so fast that I was hardly able to process the damage I was receiving, let alone prevent it.
It only ended when Zir wanted it to, which was after four blows. I tumbled across the roof in a battered mess and landed in a heap.
What is this man...? He is not human.
I opened my eyes to see Zir stalking towards me in his terrible form.
That's right, he is not. He is a god.
"Already dead, Fate? Is the Twenty-First god really this weak?" He stopped walking as he addressed my shameful state.
"Come on. I will even let you get up. I haven't even started to show my true power."
I slowly pushed myself to my feet, which required more energy than I would have liked to admit.
With only the Golden Eye and Omnidirectional Vision, there can't be a way for me to beat this man. He seems undefeatable...
I heard noises of battle from the floors below, roars of rage and destruction.
No. I asked to take on Zir for a reason. I have a responsibility to fulfill.
I activated the Golden Eye by focusing on Zir. It wasn't currently showing me any visions of movement; he only stood there and talked.
"Your eyes shine gold? Cool trick, but it's far from enough to think you're equal to the fourth god."
Then I saw it. The visions of Zir vanished, while his real body remained there, talking to me.
He will dash again, too fast for me to see.
I used Omnidirectional Vision, increasing my view to a full 360 degrees around me.
One of the visions was behind me, spinning to deliver a kick to my back, but this time I saw it.
Anticipating the strike, as soon as Zir's true body vanished, I spun with speed. I didn't have enough time to dodge out of the way, so instead, I attempted to catch the kick in my arms.
The strike came fast and powerful, and as I attempted to brace against it with my arms and hands to catch it, the force was incredible and sent sharp pains through my forearms.
Still, I managed to catch it, standing with Zir's leg raised in the air.
The man's mouth hung agape as he looked at me in shock, but I could not allow this opportunity to pass. I spun, using all my might to lift Zir off the floor, and threw him using the power granted by my ascension to godhood.
His body flew meters into the air before continuing off of the roof of the castle.
I knew that he would not be able to save himself from falling by initiating his flight abilities because Lasandra had told me about the importance of having a calm mind to use it.
Still, wanting to be sure, I ran to the edge of the building and watched him fly through the air and crash on to the grassy field below.
His body hit the ground once, but he had positioned himself in a way that he took most of the force on his back rather than limbs that could easily break, and after hitting once, he was able to right himself and land on his feet, sliding along the grass.
I watched him from above as he was hunched over, most likely winded from the fall. I then leaped from the rooftop and initiated my flight, allowing myself to land safely below.
I stood in the green field, a large distance between myself and my opponent.
I threw him pretty far. My strength as a god is incredible. But his air control is great, as expected.
Not wanting to waste time, I dashed towards Zir as he was still recovering, though apparently, he was not yet too weak to fight back.
The man dashed away from my path, but not so fast that I couldn't see him, especially with Omnidirectional Vision activated.
He attempted to run around me and strike from my left side, but as he closed the distance and swung, aiming at my head, I stepped forward, allowing his palm to fly past me.
He threw the same strike again, but this time I had used my Golden Eye and stepped out of the way, catching his arm as I had caught his leg earlier, and swung him around before hurling him across the grass once again.
I watched as he tumbled through the field and managed to roll to his feet in an acrobatic maneuver.
He is so much stronger than I am, but if he cannot hit me, then it doesn't matter.
That is the blessing of these eyes.
I can see everything.
I remained on the defensive, not daring to lead a strike of my own, but Zir stayed standing far away from me. He looked worn, as did I, but we were both still far from finished.
"You are an intelligent fighter, Fate, I'll give you that!" he shouted from across the field. "I have no idea how you're managing to evade my strikes, but I should expect nothing less from a god, regardless of how new they are. If the Nineteenth god isn't a testament to that, then I don't know who is."
The Nineteenth god? Telios has been mentioned again. Who on earth is he?
"Unfortunately for you, your attacks are weak, and I am far from my limit. The Body of Seven Blessings is a culmination of seven different blessings, all targeted towards abilities related to my physical body. And I am yet to push it to its true capabilities."
So that's where the name comes from. Seven blessings, all related to his physicality!
Then, Zir widened his stance from across the field, opening his hands wide like alligator jaws.
"Let's see you dodge this!"
Zir clapped his hands together, creating a thunderous sound and a large ripple in the airwaves, sending a force of powerful wind heading towards me with speed.
