Just how long had it been since he had eaten a hearty meal?
He didn't remember.
Watching the sizzling meat on the stove, a shallow smile appeared on Arthur's face.
'Eating meat in my own home, what more could I ask for?' Arthur thought before releasing a small chuckle.
Back in his previous life he had never even been able to dream of owning a house of his own.
It had been such an impossible mission to acomplish yet here he was now, in a worse off situation than before however he had a home of his own.
Using a small iron fork that he kept to the side, Arthur turned the meat around after its color started browning.
Minutes later, the meat was fully cooked.
Taking it with the fork, Arthur placed it on the single clean dish that he had.
It was the only dish that he used when eating meat.
'Hopefully, the winter doesn't last much longer or I'll be in quite a bit of trouble.' Arthur thought to himself before taking a bite out of the rabbit meat.
"Delicious," Arthur said to himself before continuing to eat his morning meal.
Finishing the entire plate in minutes, Arthur got up and walked towards the outside of his home.
Opening the door, he extended his hand and grabbed a bunch of snow on the ground, using it to clean his dish before heading back inside and closing the door.
Putting the dish back next to the stove together with the Fork, Arthur turned and grabbed his backpack.
He was already dressed for school, he had slept with his clothes on, he didn't have any warmer clothes afterall.
With his backpack slung on his back, Arthur took out the charred wood from the stove and set them aside.
It was good to save even the charred wood as it could be used later.
Finally done with everything, he headed to the front door and walked outside before closing the door behind him.
It was snowing.
'It did seem like there would be snow yesterday.' Arthur thought as he started walking towards Forks High School.
The weather was cold beyond belief however as he walked his body got warmer and warmer, making the feeling of terrible cold dissapear from his body completley.
'This body, it's strange.' Arthur thought as he walked with his head hanging low.
'If I was in my previous body, I wouldn't have been able to survive on so little food as well as in these cold conditions. Sometimes, it feels like this body is superhuman.' Arthur mussed to himself before lifting his head.
Without noticing the passage of time, Arthur had already arrived in front of the High School.
[ Forks High School ]
Taking his gaze away from the plaque on the wall of the building, Arthur walked ahead once again, heading inside of the school.
The halls were crowded with students heading toward their classes in a hurry.
"Yo Arthur." A voice called from behind him.
Turning around, Arthur raised an eyebrow as he asked.
"What's up?"
"Wanna come and hang out with us later today? We found this cool abandoned place yesterday." A boy with slightly curly black hair and brown eyes said.
"Abandoned place?" Arthur said before his mind went back to his home instantly.
No one in the highschool knew of Arthur's living conditions, he had done his best to hide them.
He knew how heartless children were afterall and he couldn't go off and fight everyone who mocked him, that was a sure fire way to start a terrible life and so Arthur had hidden it.
Using the shower in the school to clean himself every two days, making sure that his clothes were spotless and that he never dirtied them aswell as keeping tab on what all the cool kids were doing and what the newest trends were.
"Sure, I can come check it out Jacob." Arthur said before turning around and walking away, only giving the teen a wave in goodbye.
"All right, See ya after school hours!!" Jacob yelled before turning around and walking off with his small group of friends who looked much more like henchmen than actual friends.
Moments later, Arthur finally arrived at his destination, the Biology class.
Walking inside, he headed towards his desk and sat down, his back straight and his gaze unflinching as he looked toward the front and waited for the professor.
He looked like the ideal perfect student that every teacher hoped for.
'One more year and I'll be out of here, With my current grades I should be able to get a full scholarship to a good university, It'll only be up from there.' Arthur thought as he saw the door of the classroom open up.
It wasn't the professor who came in however instead it was a young woman with long brown hair and equally brown eyes, her skin pale as snow.
Next to her was a young man with skin even paler than the woman, if not for the man's unmatched beauty, he would have resembled a reanimated corpse.
'Why do they look so familiar?' Arthur thought as he gazed at the two.
This had been a re-occuring thought, the two always gave him the feeling as if he had met them before, before Forks that was.
It was a feeling as if the memory was on the tip of his tongue however it just wouldn't come to him.
'My brain just starts hurting and I still can't remember.' Arthur thought before lightly shaking his head and clearing his mind.
'If they were anyone important, I would have remembered them.'
It was at this moment that the door opened once more and the professor came inside the classroom whilst holding a batch of papers.
"As I told everyone last week, today we are holding an exam, I hope everyone prepared." The professor said as he started giving out the exam papers immideatly.
'All right, let's get this done with.' Arthur thought as he waited for the man to give him the paper.
