Chapter 1 - Chapter : 1

Atlas was busy cleaning a long sword when a tall man turned to him " young boy , no need to come to my shop again I've hired people to clean my swords for me "

" But sir , " Atlas said with his small frail voice " I can still clean alongside them ... I mean I can do other jobs "

" I don't want you in my shops " the man said

Atlas stood up and left the shop , life was hard for poor commoners like him , this was the tenth time a boss was kicking him away that week , Atlas was a thirteen year old boy , he was good looking in truth but he had been so malnourished for so many years that he now had a scrawny and bony frame , his face was worse , his cheeks had sunk in so much they almost looked like holes , his hair was a blue mess , with each blue strand sticking out like a twig , Atlas unable to find work again went back to his home in the slums a small shack that was the size of kiddies house , inside was a mat and a small rag as a blanket , with a bundle of straw as the pillow and a small kerosene lamp . He closed the old door behind him as he made is way to the mat and lay down , in moments he was off ,

All of a sudden thunder flashed in the air and Atlas found himself underwater , there were ancient symbols that read

{ You are destined to become the next War Lord }

{ You will fulfil your destiny }

{ You must carry on his legacy }

{ You have been selected as his successor}

Atlas woke with a start , he normally had all sorts of dreams but none like this , it was the first time he saw such strangesymbols and he didn't know why he was able to read them ,

" Next War Lord ? Destiny ? Carry his legacy ? What does all this nonsense mean ? " Atlas asked himself , he abruptly stood up , it was probably because he was jobless that he had such meaningless dream , he left the shack to look for work , he reached a stall that had horses , a short man was there screaming

" Come and buy your horses ! "

Atlas walked up to the man

" Excuse me sir " , the short man looked over his stand to see a boy almost towering over him " What do you want boy ? "

" Is there any work you have for me to do ? "

" Go somewhere else kid "

" Please ? Are you sure there's no work for me ? "

The short man , Dan not wanting to turn Atlas away sighed and pointed to a tall horse " I need someone to walk that horse but it's very stubborn are you sure you can do it ? "

Atlas nodded " Of course sir "

" Okay then bring it back before the sun sets "

" Sure " Atlas nodded and grabbed the horse rope and freed it

" By the way I'm Dan "

" Atlas " Atlas replied " See you by noon "

" Sure "

Atlas took the horse into the market walking it very slowly " This horse isn't stubborn at all " he thought , his satchel fell all of a sudden he bent down to pick it and the moment he let go of the horse it went dashing through the market , Atlas eyes widened , he quickly fall the horse as it dashed through stalls , knocking them over and toppling over carts , Atlas followed in hot pursuit , but he quickly got tired because of his malnourished self and as a matter of fact he hadn't eaten all day

" Stop ! " Atlas screamed but it was no use as the horse ran towards the gate of Cordaven the kingdom they were in , outside was a thick forest called the forest of bones it was known to have beasts both normal and magical that of which one couldn't escape if they couldn't fight , the horse ran faster and outright ran out the gates , without the guards doing anything Atlas ran out the gates too and followed the horse into the forest but by the time he realised where he was it was to late he was lost and the horse was gone .
