Islas' breath hitched as Damon leaned in again. A soft gasp escaped her throat when his lips brushed hers teasingly before he deepened the kiss. Islas hands laid limply by her side unsure of what to do with them while Damon's hand held her waist firmly but gently as though scared that she'd disappear. Slowly, she raised her hand to his hair, her fingers moving through his soft hair, pulling him closer. Her body heated up, contrasting to the shivering cold of the night.
This is wrong,she thought.
She knew that this won't end well, especially for her. Every fibre in her screamed at her to end this and pretend like it never happened, that it was just a figment of her imagination but she couldn't stop––she didn't want to stop. The logical part of her mind was clouded by pure desire.
A moan escaped her lips, emanating a growl from Damon, the sound vibrating against her lips as the kiss deepened. He gently pushed her against the scaly rough bark of the tree making her wince. His hands cupped her cheeks and she stood staring at him,her heart racing in her chest. His eyes stared at her with desire and hunger. For a brief moment, Isla felt bad for Lyla for the pain she'd feel through the mate bond from Damon kissing her but she remembered the pain she'd feel forever.
"Oh Isla," Damon whispered breathlessly. "This is wrong but I can't stop"
"It's only wrong because you rejected me" She said in a soft voice, tears filling her eyes. "Why are you doing all this now? You're hurting me please"
She watched Damon's expression darken and for a brief moment she expected him to pull away from her and walk out vowing never to see her,but he didn't. Instead,he rested his forehead against hers, closing his eyes. " I really want to stay away, I don't even know why I came here," he admitted. "But I can't also deny the fact that you're my fated mate, this bond is just a joke. We don't love each other, you don't love me, it's just the bond"
Tears rolled down her cheeks, betraying her. " Why are you here then? Is this some sick twisted way of tormenting me? Does it feed your ego?" Her voice cracked but she didn't try to pull away from him.
" You want to know why? It's because I'm a selfish man. I like to get things I want without caring about others" he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "Can we just pretend for just one night that things didn't happen this way?"
Before she could utter another word,he pressed his lips on hers again. His mouth moved against hers aggressively while his hands roamed her body trying to put every detail in his head. The heat from his body prevented her from feeling the harsh cold air.
Everything happened so fast, Isla didn't realize when Damon carried her towards the cabin. The soft click of the door registered in her head as he shut the door. The cabin was only illuminated by a single candle in the corner and the dim light of the moon casting shadows on the walls.
He gently placed her on the bed,his body not leaving hers for a second. He pinned her down with his gaze,a silent question in his eyes. She stared at him silently before pulling in for another kiss giving him consent.
Damon trailed down her neck, his teeth grazing her sensitive skin making her shiver under his touch. She raised her hands to his chest, tracing his hard toned chest. He groaned, feeling her soft fingers exploring his body giving her confidence to continue more, pleased that she could affect him as much as he affected her.
The evening wore on, they let themselves be overcome by desire, forsaking the world outside of the cabin. For these brief moments, there was no pain,no pack—just the undeniable bond between them.

The rays of the sun streamed through the windows of the cabin stirring Isla from her sleep. She smiled into the pillow, rolling to the other side. The chirps of the morning birds reached her ears but then another sound made her freeze—the sound was sweet and refreshing, rather it was angry. She could hear it through the thin wall of the cabin.
"This is ridiculous. Are you trying to look like a fool in front of the pack? Why didn't you tell me?" Alpha Marcus, Damon's father said gruffly.
Any trace of sleep in Islas' eyes cleared at his voice. She quietly sat up trying her best not to make any sound. Her muscle aches remind her of the bittersweet event that happened last night. She wrapped the blanket around her body covering herself, she tiptoed to the door, her bare foot moving silent against the wooden floor.
The closer she got, the more she could hear them clearly. "I didn't tell you because it wasn't your business" Damon said defensively.
" What do you mean it's none of my business? Every bit of it is my business" Marcus growled. " Didn't you think of this will do to your reputation once this gets on? On the night of your mating ceremony. You have the alpha blood flowing through your veins and that weakness wants to control you?"
" Stop it, Father. Be careful how you address her" Damon snapped, glaring at his father. " Don't forget that she's my mate"
"Don't forget that she's an omega" Marcus spit out. " You've chosen your mate already, that bond will only complicate things and you're aware of that"
Isla could feel the walls caving in,her fingers gripping the frame of the door for support. She knew that Marcus was right but hearing him say it,cut through her head.
"I don't want to talk about this now," Damon said, his voice filled with frustration. "And I'll not reject her now, she's weak now"
" You'll reject her and that's final. She'll always be weak" Marcus said with finality. " You'll end this before your stupid mistake will bring down everything I thrived to build. Do you want to choose the whole pack over an omega?"
Isla held her breath as she waited for Damon's response. She wondered if he'd pick her but his voice rang out as he spoke, bursting her wishful bubble.
"Just give me time"
His words didn't give her assurance, she moved back trying to control her breathing which came out in shallow gasps. She wanted to leave.Last night wasn't supposed to happen and she was starting to regret her action but a tiny part of would still do it again if given another chance. She turned back to the door, quickly putting on her clothes. She wanted to leave but she didn't know how to confront father and son.
She was still contemplating her next action when the door flung open catching her off guard. Alpha Marcus stepped into the room, filling the room with his imposing aura. He pinned her down with his cold gaze. Isla felt sweat trickle down her back due to fear. She could see Damon standing behind him,his expression unreadable.
"So, you're the one" Marcus said icily, " you're the filthy omega controlling my son"
Isla straightened her spine, trying hard not to cower under his gaze even as her stomach coiled in fear. "I'm not controlling him, alpha. I…" she said in a shaky voice. "I promise, I'll stay away from him"
Marcus took a few steps closer until he was directly in front of her,his presence suffocating. "I like the sound of that. But it'll be better if you just disappear, right?"
"Stop it, father! That's enough already," Damon said in a sharp voice creating room between them. " You're scaring her"
"I'm not scaring her," Marcus said, not taking his eyes off Isla. "Are you afraid of me, little Omega?"
Isla lowered her gaze to her feet, unable to keep looking at him. "No. I promise to stay away"
"You better stay away" Marcus said with an evil glint in his eyes.
Isla looked over to Damon hoping he'd at least stop her from leaving but he looked away, his jaw tight. She walked past them making her way out of the cabin.
She didn't look back.
