Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Mia suddenly heard an unusual voice echoing from the corridor, a frantic call that seemed to be shouting a name. "Sam! Where are you?" The sound of multiple footsteps followed, accompanied by a chorus of excited voices chanting, "Sam, Sam..." Leena and Mia exchanged glances, their curiosity piqued.

"What's going on?" Leena asked, her eyes wide with intrigue.

"Let's check it out!" Mia replied, her heart racing with excitement. They quickly rose to follow the commotion. Just then, someone collided with Leena's shoulder—a striking girl with long, silky black hair that cascaded down her back, fair skin that glowed in the light, and captivating amber eyes.

"Sorry!" she exclaimed, her voice breathless, as she dashed past them, clutching a beautifully decorated box wrapped in vibrant paper adorned with a heart symbol.

"Wow, she looks in a hurry," Leena remarked, watching the girl disappear into the crowd.

They pressed on, weaving through the throng of students until they reached the main gate. There, a luxurious red Lamborghini gleamed under the sun, its sleek lines a stark contrast to the chaos surrounding it. A crowd of over fifty girls had gathered, their excitement palpable as they screamed names and shared whispers.

"Is that really his car?" one girl shrieked, her eyes sparkling with admiration.

"Of course! Sam always pulls up in style!" another replied, her voice dripping with envy.

Just as they were beginning to grasp the situation, an unexpected hush fell over the scene, as if the world had paused. A gust of wind swept through, carrying with it a sense of anticipation. Mia could hear snippets of conversation; people were murmuring amongst themselves, their expressions shifting from exuberance to concern.

"Poor girl," someone remarked, their voice tinged with sympathy. She was gazing down at her mobile where live video was playing. That comment caught Mia's attention, and she felt a pang of empathy.

"What happened?" Mia whispered to Leena, her gaze darting around.

"It seems like someone is facing rejection, and this time, what Sam did was truly unkind..." Someone muttered, her frown deepening.

Mia took a step closer, her heart racing with intrigue. "I wonder who that girl is," she said, glancing back at the crowd.

As they stood there, the crowd erupted again, and Mia felt a mix of anticipation and concern for the girl caught in the spotlight.

Mia slowly looked at her mobile, her heart sinking as she recognized the girl from earlier—the one who had been in such a hurry. The screen displayed the familiar face alongside an unknown boy. Suddenly, the boy stepped forward, picked up what looked like a soft, creamy cake, and hurled it right at the girl. To Mia's shock, the girl just stood there, frozen, as the cake splattered all over her.

Seeing this made Mia's blood boil with anger. "How could he do that?!" she exclaimed, fists clenching at her sides.

"Calm down, Mia," Leena said, trying to soothe her. "Let's not make it worse. We should help her instead."

Mia took a deep breath, but her emotions were still swirling. The crowd around them erupted into cheers and chants, completely oblivious to the girl's distress. Mia and Leena glanced at the boy, who was dressed in luxurious clothes and wearing sunglasses, strutting past them like he owned the world.

Turning back, they saw the girl sitting on the floor, tears streaming down her face. Mia felt a surge of empathy and rushed over. "Are you okay?" she asked softly, kneeling beside her.

Leena quickly followed, helping the girl to her feet and brushing off the remnants of the cake from her dress. "Here," she said, handing over a handkerchief. "Who was he? How could he treat someone like this?"

The girl looked up, her amber eyes filled with sadness. "That was Sam," she whispered, her voice trembling. "I thought he was different..."

Mia felt a mix of anger and compassion. "You deserve so much better than that," she said firmly. Leena nodded in agreement, wrapping an arm around the girl for support.

"Let's get you cleaned up," Leena suggested gently. "You don't have to face this alone."

The girl managed a small nod, grateful for their kindness amidst the chaos.

"Sam... He is such a popular and good-looking guy," Gorya mumbled, her voice breaking as tears streamed down her cheeks. "My first one-sided love... How can he treat me like this?" She sobbed, the weight of her emotions crashing over her like a tidal wave.

Mia, feeling a surge of empathy, gently tapped Gorya's shoulder. "Hey... hey, don't cry," she said softly. "You deserve better than this. No one should make you feel less than you are." Her words were meant to comfort, to remind Gorya of her worth amidst the pain.

Leena, standing by with a concerned expression, nodded in agreement. "Absolutely. You're so much more than just someone's crush," she added. She reached into her bag and pulled out a bottle of water, offering it to Gorya. "Here, take this. It might help you feel a bit better."

Leena, who had been quietly observing the scene, stepped in with her own brand of encouragement. She leaned closer, her expression earnest. "What's your name?" She asked...

"Gorya," she replied, her voice still shaky as She Continued, "I just don't understand why he wouldn't even notice me," her eyes glistening with unshed tears. "I thought maybe... maybe he felt something, too."

Gorya hesitated for a moment before grabbing the bottle, her fingers trembling slightly. "Thank you," she whispered, taking a small sip. The cool water felt refreshing, but it couldn't wash away the hurt that lingered in her heart. "I just don't understand why he would act like this. We had something special, or at least I thought we did."

Mia and Leena exchanged glances, both aware of the complexities of young love. "Sometimes, people don't realize the impact of their actions," Mia said gently. "Sam might not even know how much he's hurting you. But that doesn't make it okay."

Leena chimed in, "Exactly. It's easy for someone like him to get caught up in his popularity and forget about the feelings of others. But you have to remember that your feelings matter too, Gorya. You deserve someone who appreciates you for who you are."

Gorya wiped her tears with the back of her hand, taking a deep breath as she tried to regain her composure. "I just feel so lost," she admitted. "It's like I built this whole fantasy around him, and now it's just... gone. I thought he liked me back."

Mia leaned closer, her expression earnest. "It's completely normal to feel that way. First loves can be so intense, and it's hard to let go of those feelings. But you have to focus on yourself now. You're strong, and you'll get through this."

Leena nodded vigorously. "And remember, this isn't the end of the world. There are so many people out there who will see how amazing you are. Sam might be popular, but that doesn't mean he's the only one who can make you happy."

Gorya looked up, her eyes still glistening with tears, but there was a flicker of hope in her gaze. "I guess you're right. It just hurts so much right now."

"Of course it does," Mia replied, her voice soothing. "But pain is part of growing up. It teaches us valuable lessons about love and about ourselves. You'll come out of this stronger, I promise."

Leena added, "And in the meantime, we're here for you. Let's do something fun together to take your mind off things. How about we grab some ice cream or go to that new café everyone's been talking about?"

Gorya managed a small smile at the suggestion. "That sounds nice. I could use some ice cream." The thought of spending time with her friends began to lift her spirits, even if just a little.

As they walked together, Gorya felt a sense of gratitude for Mia and Leena. They had always been there for her, and their friendship felt like a safe harbor amidst the storm of her emotions. "Thank you for being such good friends," she said sincerely. "I don't know what I would do without you."

Mia smiled warmly. "That's what friends are for. We'll always have your back, no matter what."

Leena chimed in, "And who knows? Maybe this is just the beginning of a new chapter for you. There are plenty of people out there who will see how wonderful you are."

As they continued down the street, Gorya felt a sense of hope beginning to blossom within her. While the pain of her unrequited love for Sam was still fresh, she realized that she was not alone. With the support of her friends, she could navigate through the heartbreak and emerge even stronger on the other side.
