Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 The Repeating Dream

The sound of the shower in the bathroom ceased, and the light seeping through the crack of the door went out.

Hoshino Gen, dressed in a white long-sleeved shirt and black casual trousers, walked out.

Then, at first glance, he saw his sister lying unconscious on the carpet in his room, and beside her, the pitch-black demon sword that had already been drawn out of its sheath.

After standing there and thinking for two seconds, Hoshino Gen still couldn't figure out what had happened. He walked up to Hoshino Rin, bent down to check her breath, and when he was sure that she was still alive, he breathed a slight sigh of relief.

On the girl's slender and fair fingers, that smear of bright red was so eye-catching that Hoshino Gen noticed it immediately. He grabbed his sister's left hand and observed it carefully in front of his eyes. A faint wisp of black qi was lingering around her injured fingertip.

"Ugh..."

A choked sound rang out. Hoshino Gen looked at Hoshino Rin's pretty face that was almost flawless. Tears were spilling from the corners of her eyes. Although her eyes were tightly closed, from her expression, one could tell that she was experiencing something terribly frightening at the moment.

Hoshino Gen remembered that when he was pierced through the palm by that sword in the dojo earlier, he did have a feeling of being forced into a coma at that time. However, he had timely washed away the black qi that was trying to seep into the wound with the white water talisman, so he didn't know what would happen if he really fell into a coma.

With a long sigh, Hoshino Gen, who had already felt extremely tired, seriously thought about the consequences of throwing this cheap sister out of the room and going back to bed to sleep like a log...

But looking at that pretty face that was still crying even in a coma, he seemed to see the little kid who always followed him around crying and shouting "Oni-chan" to ask him to play with her thirteen years ago.

This was the downside of being reincarnated. He couldn't even forget the memories from his infancy.

Hoshino Gen stretched out his index finger and gently touched Hoshino Rin's fair and smooth forehead. A bright white light spot formed at his fingertip.

Hoshino Gen closed his eyes, and his consciousness seemed to be falling in the darkness.

After a while, he opened his eyes again, and in front of him was a corner of the city that was shrouded in the night, desolate and lonely.

"Don't..."

The beautiful girl sitting slumped on the ground was covered by a tall figure. The figure was holding an ominous demon sword with a blood-red glow, and slashed at the girl mercilessly.

After a scream, the beautiful girl fell into a pool of blood, like a fallen angel. Even in death, she was so poignantly beautiful.

The world in front of him shattered like the life of the girl in the picture, but it quickly reassembled.

The dead girl came back to life. She panicked and ran on the deserted road in the night. Behind her, a pitch-black figure with a sword was chasing closely.

If nothing unexpected happened, everything that had just happened would repeat itself in the near future.

In an instant, Hoshino Gen understood the consequence of having his consciousness dragged into the abyss by that sword after being injured by it - those who were injured by it would be killed again and again in the deep dream of their consciousness. As long as this continued, it would be extremely easy to drive a person's spirit to the verge of collapse.

It was indeed worthy of being an ominous demon sword that had existed as a carrier of fierce ghosts for at least a hundred and forty years. It was truly very strange.

Hoshino Gen couldn't help sighing inwardly. Looking at his sister whose expression was almost on the verge of collapse, he waved his right hand, and a bright yellow talisman appeared between his two fingers.

Wow, it's so convenient in the dream.

Hoshino Gen was惊叹ing inwardly at the current situation with a poker face, but his feet had already started to move. The talisman paper turned into ashes in his palm, and then a long ice pick emerged in his hand.

At the same time, on the road, the girl fell to the ground because she was too panicked. Knowing what was going to happen next, she cried and backed away bit by bit while supporting herself on the ground. The black figure was approaching step by step. The dim streetlight shone on it, and its shadow covered the girl.

That blood-red demon sword was raised again.

"Don't..."

The girl with teary eyes choked up: "Who can save me..."

Fear had already crushed her. Being killed again and again inexplicably in this strange place, regardless of the pain, just the suffocation and darkness brought by the moment of death were enough to drive a person crazy.

From she didn't know which cycle, she had been praying not to wake up after being killed. However, that sword still fell on her again and again.

The familiar sound of something cutting through the air rang out, and Hoshino Rin closed her eyes tightly in fear.

However, the expected intense pain and suffocation didn't come.

"Bang!"

Instead, it seemed that something collided in front of her and made a crisp sound.

Her eyelashes trembled, and Hoshino Rin tentatively opened her eyes slightly. Her heterochromatic eyes that were covered with a layer of gloom stared blankly at the scene in front of her.

The boy with the same heterochromatic eyes as her blocked the long sword that was supposed to cut her with a long ice pick. On his good-looking face that had a five-point resemblance to her, there was a calm smile.

The closed loop was thus broken.

The ice pick missed the blood-colored blade, and Hoshino Gen rushed forward and almost got into the black figure's embrace.

He lifted his leg and hit the black figure's abdomen with a knee strike. At the instant when the other party staggered back, he immediately followed up with a roundhouse kick on the black figure's right arm. The right hand holding the sword was hit hard, and the weapon naturally flew out of its hand.

Hoshino Gen seized the opportunity and flicked the ice pick, and the sword flew towards him. By now, the disarming was completed.

"Sure enough." Hoshino Gen held the ice pick in one hand and the demon sword in the other, sighing regretfully as he stared at the black figure in front of him: "The illusion is much weaker than the real body."

He casually threw away the ice pick that was freezing his hand and switched the sword to his right hand, muttering to himself: "But this saves a lot of trouble. As far as the result is concerned, it's a good thing."

With that said, he threw out five talisman papers with a flick of his left hand, took a step forward, and thrust out the tip of the sword. The five talisman papers strung together turned into a large blinding electric light that wrapped around the scarlet sword body and then pierced through the black figure's body and also pierced through the entire night.

...

Hoshino Gen opened his eyes, and the scene in front of him changed from that desolate corner of the city to his own room.

He took away his index finger that was pressed against his sister's forehead, and felt a bit dizzy in front of his eyes.

The aftereffect of the dream-entering technique was a bit uncomfortable.

Barely enduring the feeling of the world spinning around, he rechecked Hoshino Rin's finger who was still in a coma and confirmed that the black qi had completely disappeared.

He picked up his sister from the ground. Although he was extremely tired at the moment, dizzy and his right hand was in great pain, fortunately, his sister, who was an idol, had a very slender figure. So it wasn't too strenuous to pick her up. On the contrary, she was soft and fragrant, which was rather comfortable.

But he didn't care about that at all. He casually threw his sister onto the sofa in the living room and immediately went back to his room.

The door of the room closed, and then a clear sound came from the doorknob. It was the sound of the door being locked.
