Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: The secretary’s contemplation

The Shadowed Cliffs had become a fortress not just of stone and fire but of power—raw, unmatched power. As Yubelluna walked through the grand hallways, her mind was heavy with thoughts about the extraordinary group she had found herself a part of.

The peerage was unlike any other in the history of devil society. Its members weren't just strong—they were legends. And as Raizer Phoenix's secretary, Yubelluna was more aware than anyone of what that meant.

"Power unchecked is dangerous," she muttered under her breath as she made her way to the strategy room, her violet eyes scanning the reports she held. "And we're sitting on a powder keg."

A Peerage of Titans

Yubelluna sat at her desk, sipping a cup of spiced tea as she reviewed the latest training reports. Each document was a testament to the staggering power of the peerage.

Garp, Whitebeard, Roger, and Sengoku—the peerage's titans—were all peak Satan class, a level of strength that most devils could only dream of achieving. Each of them had enough raw power to destroy entire cities without breaking a sweat.

Then there were the "middle tier" of the peerage: Akainu, Kuzan, Fujitora, Greenbull, Beckman, and Shiki. They ranged from low to mid-Satan class, but even they were far beyond the strength of most devils.

And, of course, Raizer himself. Though still in his late teens, his mid-ultimate class power was climbing steadily, and his mastery over both magic and combat meant he could easily hold his own against high-class devils.

Lastly, there was Yubelluna herself. She was no weakling, having reached high-class devil level after years of training, but she couldn't help but feel like a mere spark among blazing infernos when compared to the rest of the group.

She set down her tea and sighed, the weight of her thoughts pressing on her.

What If It All Went Wrong?

Yubelluna wasn't prone to paranoia, but the thought had crossed her mind more than once: what would happen if the peerage turned on itself?

She pictured it in her head—a clash of titans that would tear the Shadowed Cliffs apart.

Garp and Whitebeard would be at the center of it, their earth-shaking blows causing the ground to crumble beneath them. Garp's monstrous fists would clash with Whitebeard's Gura Gura no Mi, creating shockwaves that could shatter mountains.

Roger and Sengoku wouldn't be far behind. Roger's unpredictable fighting style, combined with his Conqueror's Haki, would wreak havoc, while Sengoku's golden Buddha form would tower above the battlefield, radiating overwhelming force.

Then there were the admirals. Akainu's magma would burn everything in its path, while Kuzan's ice would freeze entire sections of the battlefield. Fujitora's gravity powers would turn the skies into a warzone, and Greenbull's vines would engulf everything in a chaotic, living maze.

And Shiki… Yubelluna shuddered at the thought of Shiki's gravity powers letting loose. The entire fortress could be ripped from the ground and sent into the stratosphere if he felt like it.

The scariest part, though, wasn't just their powers—it was their personalities.

"Garp and Roger are loose cannons," she muttered, tapping her pen against her notebook. "Shiki's unpredictable, Akainu's too rigid, and even Mihawk can be terrifying when he's serious."

She sighed again, leaning back in her chair. "If they ever went mad… it wouldn't just be the Shadowed Cliffs. The entire underworld could fall."

Thoughts on Each Peerage Member

Yubelluna decided to clear her head by jotting down her thoughts on each member. Perhaps putting them on paper would help her make sense of things.

Garp

"Garp is… overwhelming. He's loud, he's brash, and he has zero concept of subtlety. But for all his chaos, he's loyal to Raizer in his own way. His strength is unmatched, and his training methods—though insane—get results. Still, his love for a good brawl makes him unpredictable. If he ever decided to fight for real, I'm not sure anyone could stop him."

Whitebeard

"Whitebeard is the opposite of Garp in many ways. Calm, wise, and almost fatherly. He's the anchor of the peerage, the one who keeps the rest of the titans grounded. But his strength… it's terrifying. The Gura Gura no Mi is a power that can destroy worlds. Thankfully, Whitebeard seems content to use it sparingly."

Gol D. Roger

"Roger is a wildcard. He's charming and fun, but also completely reckless. His Conqueror's Haki is on a level I can't even comprehend, and his energy seems endless. He's the kind of person who could laugh his way through a battlefield, but that makes him dangerous too. You never quite know what he's thinking."

Sengoku

"Sengoku is the strategist. He's the one I'd trust to lead an army, but he's also a strict disciplinarian. His golden Buddha form is awe-inspiring, and his experience makes him invaluable. I think he's one of the few who can keep Garp and Roger in check—most of the time."

Akainu

"Akainu… He's intense. His belief in justice is unwavering, and while that's admirable, it's also a bit concerning. He's not the kind to compromise, and his Magma-Magma Fruit makes him a force of nature. I respect his strength, but I wouldn't want to be on his bad side."

Kuzan

"Kuzan is almost the opposite of Akainu—lazy, relaxed, and much more approachable. But beneath that exterior is someone incredibly sharp and powerful. His ice abilities are beautiful and terrifying all at once. He's calm under pressure, which makes him a great asset."

Fujitora

"Fujitora is the voice of reason. He's kind and compassionate, even in the middle of chaos. His gravity powers are subtle but devastating when used to their full potential. I think he's one of the few who truly understands balance—both in battle and in life."

Greenbull

"Greenbull is… complicated. He's confident, sometimes overly so, and his nature-based powers are as unpredictable as his personality. He's dangerous, but there's also a strange charm to him. I just wish he'd take things a little more seriously sometimes."

Shiki

"Shiki is a menace. He's constantly floating around, making snide comments, and generally causing trouble. But his Fuwa Fuwa no Mi is incredible. He could destroy the entire fortress if he wanted to, and that's not an exaggeration. I just hope Raizer keeps him entertained enough to prevent that."

Mihawk

"Mihawk is sharp in every sense of the word. He's quiet, precise, and focused. His swordsmanship is unparalleled, and his presence alone commands respect. He's the kind of person you'd want on your side in a crisis, but his detached demeanor makes him hard to read."

And lastly beckman

That man is just mysterious. Among all of the monsters raizer has created he only choose him as his queen piece when he has such incredibly strong people. In normal days I couldn't even sense his existence as if he never existed but he is there watching everyone in shadow and calculating everyone and everything

Her Thoughts on Raizer

Yubelluna set her pen down and leaned back in her chair, staring at the ceiling.

"Then there's Raizer," she said softly. "The one who brought all of this together."

Raizer was still young, but his determination and vision were beyond his years. He wasn't just leading a peerage—he was building something entirely new, something that could rival the Four Great Satans themselves.

"He's brilliant, but he's also human," Yubelluna muttered. "He works so hard to keep everything together, but I wonder… does he ever feel the weight of it all?"

Her biggest fear wasn't that Raizer would fail. It was that he would succeed, only to find himself alone at the top.

Final Thoughts

Yubelluna picked up her tea and took a long sip, letting the warmth calm her nerves.

"This peerage is terrifying," she admitted to herself. "But it's also incredible. Raizer has brought together legends, and somehow, he's made them work as a team."

She smiled faintly, setting down her cup. "As long as he's at the center of it, I think we'll be okay."

But deep down, Yubelluna knew that the line between order and chaos was razor-thin. All it would take was one spark to turn the Shadowed Cliffs into a battlefield.

And she prayed that day would never come.
