His drawer was across from the desk, and as she moved towards it, her hips swayed unconsciously. Even her breasts bounced subtly with each step, her nudity amplifying the allure of every motion. It was as though her body was deliberately trying to tempt him, each step exaggeratedly seductive.
Marcus couldn't tear his eyes away, utterly hypnotized. She had just reached the drawer, her fingers brushing the handle, when his voice cut through the air, low and commanding.
"I didn't say you could get dressed yet."
His tone left no room for argument. Resigned, Luna obediently let the dress slip to the floor. She was long past anger now, she just wanted to leave the room as quickly as possible. Bowing her head submissively, she waited for his next command.
"Come here, Luna," he said, gesturing with his hand as though she were some kind of pet. The arrogance in his tone grated on her nerves, but she swallowed her irritation. He knew she wouldn't dare refuse him, and she knew better than to test him. He was the almighty Alpha, after all, and defiance would be foolish, especially when he was already suspicious of her.
One wrong move could mean the end of her and, worse, the failure of her entire revenge scheme. She couldn't afford to die, not before she tore apart those who had murdered her family in cold blood. She let her mind drift back to that horrific day, seeing the lifeless bodies of her family, her pack, her people the ones she had loved and cared for most. The memory reignited her rage, and her resolve solidified into unbreakable steel.
Her heart thundered in her chest, each beat crying out for vengeance. Luna knew, deep down, that she had allowed herself to grow weak, too complacent. That weakness had to end.
Marcus, on the other hand, didn't seem concerned with her internal battle. In that moment, he was every inch the overbearing, protective Alpha, his demeanor as cold and unyielding as iron.
She didn't want him to be kind. She wanted him to be cruel, to punish her for her stupidity for allowing herself the luxury of comfort while her people lay dead, for letting herself care for him, for Evangeline, for building a safe haven when she had yet to avenge her people. She was a fool, and she couldn't entirely blame him for his treatment of her. He was only protecting his pack, ensuring she posed no threat to them. Affection? That could burn to ashes for all she cared.
To every Alpha, the pack always came first. Marcus refused to look at her, and the sharp sting of his indifference pierced her chest. Luna clenched her fists, fighting the urge to break down. How had she grown so attached to him in just a few days? What had she been expecting? A happily ever after?
"Tell me clearly what did you mean earlier by an attack on my pack."
His tone held ice, Luna looked up at him again searching his eyes, they were cold, dead , there was no hint of humor or playful laughter that always coated his features, There wasn't a trace of her seductive lover. Luna let out a breath then proceeded to to tell him about the two men ahead had met in the woods while going to gather herbs, who were plotting to destroy the pack from within and outside.
Marcus for once never interrupted her as he sifted the information she had giving to find any outright lie or lies by omission but he sensed none, he ignored the hurt and betrayal in her gaze and further interrogated until he was sure there was nothing else to tell, he tried to get her to describe the features of the two men.
Luna tried to remember them but it was too shadowy, describing their head would only bring false hope of finding the culprits, she didn't want to do that, Marcus further interrogated about their accent, he wanted something anything to be able to pinpoint the weak spot in his pack but unfortunately, Luna gave him nothing sadly.
The look of disappointment, disgust , malice in his tone made her begin to build her wall one at a time, to protect herself. This was just a fling it was not even real, she tried to console herself but she felt her heart breaking to pieces as Marcus talked to her as he would a common criminal.
He had not even caught her in the act but he was already judging and crucifying her, for a moment Luna wished she had kept the information to herself but she had grown found of him of Evangeline , the thought of them being massacred when she could have prevented it made her resolve harden, she had done the right thing and she refused to regret it whatever the cost.
Marcus saw the hurt in her eyes and watched her eyes shutter but he had to protect his pack members they came first before anything else. When he was sure he had gotten every scrap of valuable information he had to offer he told her to put on a shirt.
He could not bear to physically hit her or torture her so he had done it psychologically, making her stand there naked and cold before him would make her vulnerable, his tone and the look he practiced would make her want to cover up herself badly because she would feel self conscious and undisireable even though she was anything but that.
Luna stood naked before him shivering it was incredible cold in the room and goosebumps filled her skin and her areoles pebbled , she so desperately wanted to be done with all this and cover herself up. She wanted to cover her lady bits with her hands but she knew it would enrage the male before her.
Moreover she didn't want to give him the satisfaction of seeing her cowed so she held her chin up held his gaze unwavering and answered him as truthfully and confidently as possible.
Luna standing before him aroused him to no end, he had cleverly hidden the telltale sign of his arousal. He was completely stunned she didn't realize what she did to him, the power she had over him.
Luna felt vulnerable completely naked standing before him as he questioned her , he specifically chose this method of humiliation, it was a ploy a kind of torture without physically hitting her, so she would be too embarrass to hide anything from him and she would most likely say or do anything for a chance to cover up.
Luna had thought that this few blissful days with him, he would have grown to trust her even if it was for a little but.She had saved his guards, she had given him her virginity, she had let down her guard for him, Marcus reached out to touch her unable to bear the hurt he read in her gaze and she flinched away from him as if burned.
