Chapter 39 - Chapter 39: Pursuit

During the second break of the afternoon class, a girl stood outside, gazing into the classroom where Rumi was.

"Rumi, someone is looking for you outside."

"Excuse me, are you looking for me?" Rumi ran out and asked the girl.

"Are you Nagakawa Rumi? Come with me, someone wants to meet you." The girl sized her up with a scrutinizing look.

"Can you tell me who wants to see me?"

"Stop asking so many questions, just follow me." The girl was impatient.

Rumi lowered her head and thought for a moment. "Sorry to trouble you."

"Follow me." Seeing Rumi's politeness, the girl's attitude softened slightly.

She led Rumi to a grassy area behind the classroom building. When they arrived, Rumi saw five girls standing there, seemingly waiting for someone.

"She's here," the girl who brought Rumi said to the others.

"Are you Nagakawa Rumi?" A tall girl spoke first.

"I am Nagakawa Rumi, may I ask if you're the one looking for me?"

The girl eyed Rumi from head to toe. "Hmph, I thought you were some big beauty. Turns out, you're just a little girl. I really don't understand how Nagasaki-kun could like someone like you."

"Sorry, I don't quite understand what you mean."

"Stop pretending. You must be so proud of yourself, huh? Don't think Nagasaki-kun really likes someone like you. He just wants to have some fun with you. I warn you, don't show up in front of him again, or we won't let you off." After saying that, she slapped her.

Rumi didn't expect her to act so suddenly, but fortunately, years of kendo training gave her excellent reflexes. She quickly took a step back and avoided the slap.

"What do you want to do?" Rumi snapped, regaining her composure.

"Nothing, we just want to teach you, you unruly little shit. Since you like to tempt men so much, we might as well take off your clothes together. I'm sure many men would like that." The girl who had brought her there narrowed her eyes.

"Don't, don't do anything crazy," Rumi said, her voice trembling as she looked at the five girls approaching her.

"Regret your stupidity," the tall girl sneered.

Rumi felt like these people were crazy. "No…"

Upon hearing the news that Rumi was in trouble, Kazumi rushed out of the classroom immediately.

In the teacher's lounge, Kazumi saw Rumi, who was pale and frightened.

"Kazumi!" The moment Rumi saw her, she rushed into her arms, crying uncontrollably.

Seeing the girl crying so much, Kazumi, who had already seen herself as her older sister, felt like her heart was being torn apart.

"What happened?" Kazumi asked, glaring at the counselor nearby with hatred.

The counselor gave a wry smile. "Some girls took Rumi outside for some reason and tried to bully her. They even wanted to strip her…"

"What?" Hearing this, Kazumi wanted to kill those girls.

"Rumi, don't worry, it's all over now." Kazumi hugged the girl tightly, her silent tears falling.

The counselor didn't know what to say, and after a while, he scratched his head and said, "Let me explain... Let me finish."

Seeing Kazumi ignoring him, he could only continue talking, "They were planning to do that, but in the end, all of them were knocked down and are now in the infirmary."

Kazumi was stunned and looked up at him. "Who did this?"

The counselor smiled bitterly and pointed to Rumi, who was still crying.

"What? Rumi knocked them all down?" Kazumi thought she had misheard.

"It's true. When they were about to strip her, Rumi suddenly unleashed her strength and knocked all six girls to the ground. Now, they are all in the infirmary being treated."

Kazumi looked at the girl in her arms in disbelief.

"Rumi, Rumi, stop crying for a moment. Is what the teacher said true? They didn't do anything to you, right?" Kazumi asked gently.

The girl looked up, her red eyes swollen from crying. "Mm, they were scary. They said I... tempted men and wanted to strip my clothes."

Kazumi breathed a sigh of relief. She was almost scared to death.

"How did you do it? Did you have a bamboo sword in hand?" After a while, Kazumi became curious about how the little girl managed to knock down six people.

"Senpai taught me. He taught me to use my hands like a sword, and my sword like a hand. Although I can't use a sword as flexibly as my hand yet, using my hands as a sword wasn't too hard. He also said that after learning kendo for so many years, if I only use it in competitions, I might as well be a little gangster with a machete, chopping people on the street. I used my hands to knock them down." When talking about Masashi, Rumi became spirited.

Kazumi's head throbbed. What exactly did that guy teach her?

"Alright, if everything's fine, let's go. You really scared me this time." Kazumi took out a handkerchief and wiped the girl's face.

"Kazumi, do you think they'll come after me again?" Rumi asked worriedly.

"I don't think anyone would dare to mess with someone who can take on six at once," Kazumi said with a smile.

Rumi's face turned red upon hearing this.

Sure enough, from that day on, no one bothered Rumi again. The girls who had tried to bully her now avoided her as much as possible.

As for Nagasaki Meiichi, the instigator of the incident, he continued to pursue Rumi passionately. Every day, he would either invite her to dinner, go to the movies, or give her flowers and snacks, causing jealousy and resentment among the other girls and making the boys dare not speak out.

In the face of the transfer student's enthusiastic pursuit, Kazumi, with her cold expression, always acted as her guardian. Her excellent verbal skills were as effective as a magic trick to freeze the atmosphere. Several times, she had even made the transfer student's face twitch with fake smiles.

"Kazumi, when is Senpai coming back? It's been half a month already," Rumi said glumly.

"Don't worry, he'll be back soon." Kazumi repeated this sentence almost every day. In truth, she wasn't so sure. An uneasy feeling gnawed at her nerves.

'Brother, please don't let anything happen to you.'

"Rumi, what do you want to eat tonight? How about beef?" Kazumi deliberately changed the subject.

"Anything's fine," Rumi replied, still a bit distracted.

Seeing this, Kazumi put her arm around her shoulder and said, "Don't worry, your senpai will be back soon. Cheer up, this isn't the usual Rumi."

"Mm, I understand," Rumi nodded.

Kazumi smiled, holding her hand as they continued toward the supermarket.

Not far behind them, a luxury van was parked motionless. A handsome young man looked through the car window, watching the two with binoculars.

"Notify them, it's time to act."

"Young master, are you really going to do this? If someone finds out, it could damage the family's reputation." A middle-aged man who looked like a butler spoke cautiously.

"Hmph, does our family even have a reputation left?"

"Young master…"

"Stop talking. Just notify them," the young man said impatiently.

"Yes, young master." The butler, unable to argue, obediently made the call.

"You stinking woman, I didn't want to do this, but you're forcing me." The young man sneered as he looked out the window.
