### **Chapter 5: Heavenly Confessions and Human Confusions**

**Scene 1: The Gathering on the Terrace**

The terrace was bathed in the soft glow of the moon, the stars twinkling like distant memories in the night sky. The air was cool but not uncomfortable, a gentle breeze rustling the leaves of the plants scattered across the rooftop. Yong leaned back lazily against the terrace railing, his arms crossed, eyes half-closed as he studied the stars. Joo Hyun, with his usual energy, was fiddling with a can of soda, while Eun Kyung sat across from them, her golden anklets glinting in the moonlight as she gracefully perched on a cushion.

**Joo Hyun** (teasingly): *"Alright, Eun Kyung. We've been around you for a while now, but we still don't know the basics. Where are you from? I mean, we can't keep pretending you're not some cosmic mystery we've stumbled upon."*

Yong smirked, taking a slow sip from his drink as he watched Eun Kyung, his curiosity piqued but hidden behind a casual attitude.

**Yong**: *"Yeah, don't leave us hanging. Is your home some sort of royal palace made of clouds or something?"*

Eun Kyung tilted her head, her ethereal beauty still impossible to ignore even under the soft lighting. She smiled softly, her eyes shimmering with a mix of innocence and conviction.

**Eun Kyung** (serenely): *"I live in Heaven."*

A pause hung between them. Joo Hyun blinked, then burst into laughter, his can of soda almost slipping from his hand.

**Joo Hyun**: *"Heaven? You mean like, above the clouds? With angels and stuff?"*

Eun Kyung nodded, completely unfazed. Yong, however, raised an eyebrow, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips.

**Yong** (raising an eyebrow): *"Wait, wait. So, you're saying your dad's a god, and your mom's a goddess? What's the name of your dad? Is it like... Zeus or Odin or something?"*

Eun Kyung's expression remained serious, her voice as calm and graceful as ever.

**Eun Kyung**: *"My father is Sungjin, the Celestial God who controls the balance of life. And my mother, Minseo, is the Goddess of Compassion."*

Joo Hyun nearly spat out his soda. He choked, trying to hold in his laughter, and Yong couldn't help but snicker under his breath.

**Joo Hyun**: *"Okay, okay. I get it. This is a joke, right? Someone's pulling my leg."*

**Yong** (teasing): *"You're not seriously telling us you're a goddess-in-training, are you?"*

Eun Kyung tilted her head slightly, unperturbed by their disbelief.

**Eun Kyung** (matter-of-factly): *"Yes, I am a goddess-in-training. "*

Joo Hyun stares at her, wide-eyed, trying to process her words.

**Joo Hyun** (leaning forward curiously): "Wait, wait, wait. If you're from heaven, how do you even know our language? Shouldn't you be speaking in some, I don't know, celestial tongue?"

Eun Kyung tilts her head slightly, her expression calm and composed.

**Eun Kyung** (with a slight shrug): "I am a goddess. I know all languages."

Joo Hyun's jaw drops in disbelief. He narrows his eyes skeptically, leaning back into his chair.

**Joo Hyun** (challengingly): "Oh really? Let's test that."

Yong, who is leaning against the kitchen counter, rolls his eyes.

**Yong** (with a smirk): "Here we go again. Joo Hyun being his usual dramatic self."

But Joo Hyun ignores Yong's remark and starts firing questions at Eun Kyung in different languages.

**Joo Hyun** (in French): "Comment ça va?"

**Eun Kyung** (smiling, in fluent French): "Je vais très bien, merci. Et toi?"

Joo Hyun blinks in shock and quickly switches to Spanish.

**Joo Hyun** (in Spanish): "¿Cómo estás?"

**Eun Kyung** (cheerfully, in Spanish): "Estoy bien. Gracias por preguntar."

His jaw drops further, but he refuses to give up.

**Joo Hyun** (in Japanese): "元気ですか?"

**Eun Kyung** (giggling, in Japanese): "はい,元気です.ありがとう."

Yong finally sets his cup of coffee down, watching this exchange with mild amusement.

**Yong** (mockingly): "Really, Joo Hyun? Are we turning this into a language contest?"

**Joo Hyun** (ignoring him, in German): "Wie geht es dir?"

**Eun Kyung** (nodding, in German): "Mir geht es gut. Und dir?"

Joo Hyun slumps back into the couch, thoroughly impressed and mildly defeated.

**Joo Hyun** (dramatically): "Okay, okay, fine! You're the real deal. I surrender."

Eun Kyung chuckles, her eyes sparkling with amusement.

**Eun Kyung**: "I told you."

**Yong** (teasingly): "Careful, Joo Hyun. She might even know how to curse you in some ancient, forgotten language."

Eun Kyung shoots Yong a playful glare but then smirks.

**Eun Kyung** (with mock seriousness): "Oh, I do. Would you like to hear it?"

**Joo Hyun** (waving his hands frantically): "No, no! I'm good, I'm good!"

Joo Hyun glanced at Yong with wide eyes. He let out an exaggerated laugh.

**Joo Hyun** (mockingly): *"Oh man, we've got a real-life celestial being on our hands! Watch out, Yong. She might just turn us into frogs or something."*

Yong, still grinning, leaned back in his seat, his smirk deepening.

**Yong** (lightly): *"Yeah, maybe she's here to teach us how to, I don't know, levitate or shoot lightning from our fingertips."*

Eun Kyung, however, didn't falter. She simply looked at them both, her eyes calm and unwavering.

**Eun Kyung** (seriously): *"I'm telling you the truth. Heaven is not what you think. It's beautiful, perfect, but there's a sadness in it. A loneliness. I came here to learn what it means to struggle, to feel emotions, and to experience chaos."*

Yong looked at her for a long moment. The playful glint in his eyes softened, just a little, as he leaned forward.

**Yong** (softly): *"So you're saying that Heaven... is too perfect for you?"*

**Eun Kyung** (gently): *"Yes. It's beautiful, but it doesn't allow for true connection. Here, in the messiness of life, I've begun to see what it really means to live."*

There was a brief silence. Yong looked at her, a flicker of curiosity in his expression. Despite the wildness of her claim, something in her voice seemed genuine, making him hesitate for a split second.

**Yong** (grinning): *"I guess that makes sense. After all, who wants to live in a place where everything's perfect all the time?"*

**Joo Hyun** (interrupting): *"Yeah, sounds boring. Where's the fun in that?"*

Eun Kyung smiled softly, the warmth of her gaze lingering on Yong for just a moment longer than necessary. For a brief moment, it almost felt like the conversation had shifted, and something deeper was beginning to take root.

**Scene 2: The Comedy Unfolds**

Joo Hyun, never one to let a situation slide without his brand of chaos, leaned forward with a devilish grin.

**Joo Hyun**: *"Okay, okay, Miss Goddess. Prove it. Do some magic. Summon a thunderstorm or something. Or make Yong disappear. I'm sure no one would mind."*

Yong immediately flicked a pillow at Joo Hyun's head.

**Yong** (mock serious): *"Careful, Joo Hyun. You don't want to upset the celestial goddess. She could banish you to the underworld."*

Eun Kyung raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued by their antics.

**Eun Kyung**: *"I don't need to prove anything. What I say is the truth."*

**Joo Hyun** (mocking): *"Yeah, okay. And I'm the king of the world."*

Yong chuckled softly under his breath. He found something oddly charming about how Eun Kyung remained so composed, even when they were mocking her.

**Yong** (smiling): *"You're lucky you're cute, or we'd have serious doubts about all this."*

Eun Kyung blinked, clearly not expecting that compliment. The slight blush that appeared on her cheeks didn't escape Yong's notice, but he quickly played it off with a shrug.

**Yong** (grinning): *"What? You're cute. I'm just being honest."*

Joo Hyun groaned loudly.

**Joo Hyun**: *"Oh no. What is this? The romance section of a drama? You two need to chill with the eye-flirting."*

Yong threw another pillow at Joo Hyun.

**Yong**: *"Shut up, or I'll make you disappear instead."*

**Scene 3: Sparks Under the Stars**

As the conversation lulled, the trio fell into a comfortable silence. The city lights flickered below, but the stars above were mesmerizing. Eun Kyung, with her golden anklets shimmering faintly, leaned back on the cushion, her eyes tracing the constellations.

**Yong** (softly, more seriously): *"So, really... what's Heaven like? What does it feel like to be in a place like that?"*

Eun Kyung's gaze softened, her expression distant.

**Eun Kyung**: *"It's everything you can imagine... and yet, nothing at all. There is beauty in perfection, but it feels like a hollow shell when you don't understand loss, pain, or even joy in the way humans do. It's why I'm here. To learn how to truly live, not just exist."*

Yong was quiet for a moment. His usual bravado faded just slightly as he considered her words. He glanced at her, the tone in his voice changing from playful to something deeper.

**Yong** (gently): *"And what if you like it here? The mess, the imperfection?"*

Eun Kyung's smile was slow but genuine. She shifted slightly closer to him, her voice barely above a whisper.

**Eun Kyung**: *"Maybe I already do."*

Yong's heart skipped a beat. He blinked, caught off guard by the depth in her voice. He cleared his throat, trying to regain his usual flippant charm.

**Yong** (grinning): *"Careful, Golden Girl. You're starting to sound like a mortal."*

**Joo Hyun** (grinning): *"Whoa, did someone just say 'mortal'? Is this a confession I'm hearing?"*

Yong shot Joo Hyun a glare, but there was no hiding the slight flush on his cheeks. Eun Kyung laughed softly, her eyes sparkling.

**Eun Kyung**: *"Maybe I'm starting to understand what makes mortals... so captivating."*

Yong looked away quickly, clearing his throat again. His voice was almost teasing, but there was a softness there, too.

**Yong**: *"Well, stick around. You haven't seen the weirdest part of us yet."*

Joo Hyun, sensing the moment, dramatically clutched his chest.

**Joo Hyun**: *"Alright, alright. No more eye-flirting or I

'm going to have to move to another planet."*

Yong just chuckled, nudging Joo Hyun playfully. But as his gaze drifted back to Eun Kyung, there was something more there now—something that lingered in the air between them.
