Aurelia held her sword tightly, her knuckles white as the blade sank deep into the wyvern's tough scales. The wind roared around her, pulling at her blonde hair and making it hard to see.
Celeste also clung to her own frost-covered sword, which was jammed into the creature's side. "How the fuck did we end up here?!" she shouted, her voice barely loud enough over the wind.
"ASK RONAN!" Blonde girl bellowed back, her voice mused with excitement.
Down near one of the wyvern's huge legs, Lyra was holding on with everything she had, her arms shaking. "Why me?!" she wept, great tears streaming down her face. "I JUST WANTED TO SHOOT ARROWS FROM A DISTANCE!"
At the spine, Cian gritted his teeth, his dagger stuck into the beast's hide. "What kind of plan is this, Ronan?!" he yelled. "If we survive this, I'm going to hunt you!"
Beside him, Ronan was… enjoying.
He had buried his black sword deep into the wyvern's spine and was holding on with one hand.
