Arriving in the Valoria Kingdom, Drake brought the wounded party to the kingdom's infirmary. Upon seeing the doctor, Drake introduced the team.
Drake: "This is Dr. Rel. He'll be taking care of you from now. There's an inn just straight ahead on this road. You can stay there after your treatment."
Before Drake could leave, Rogelio asked, "Where can I find the knight's office?"
Drake: "What for?"
"Well, I have a letter to send. My teacher told me to give it to the office," Rogelio said.
Drake: "I can send that for you."
Rogelio: "Thanks. I'll wait at the inn for a response."
Drake nodded and walked out of the infirmary. Jacob, Jen, and John lay in the beds, recovering from their injuries. Meanwhile, Ralf and Dean, along with the C-Rank members, went to the Adventurer's Guild to collect the payment, while Rogelio stayed behind, waiting for the three to wake up.
In the Infirmary
Dr. Rel: "For someone who got smashed head-first into the ground, your head looks fine."
Rogelio: "Well, I'm durable."
Dr. Rel added, "Here, take this medicine. It'll cure your pain."
Rogelio: "So, you don't have any healers?"
Dr. Rel looked confused. "I'm a healer. I'm a doctor."
Rogelio: "I mean, can you heal me using divine power?"
Dr. Rel replied with a puzzled expression, "Nonsense. Where are you getting that fantasy? Are you a child? Just drink the medicine."
Rogelio mumbled, "This world isn't really that magical."
He drank the medicine, and suddenly, his headache disappeared instantly.
Rogelio: "What kind of medicine is this? It cured me instantly!"
Dr. Rel looked at him with a puzzled face.
Moments Later
Jacob woke up. "What happened?"
Rogelio explained everything that had occurred.
Jacob: "I'm glad everyone's alive."
Ralf and Dean returned with the money and split it.
Ralf: "So, where are you going now, Rogelio? If you want, you can join our party."
Jacob and the others looked at Rogelio, awaiting his reply.
Rogelio: "Maybe next time. I still have a lot of things to do."
Jacob: "If you need help or a party, you can always find us."
Rogelio and the Mist Party then parted ways. Rogelio left the infirmary with a smile, feeling grateful to have friends in this new world. He headed to the inn to rent a room.
Meanwhile, in the Northern Wall Office
Drake was making his report to Arthur, an S-Rank Knight and Protector of the Northern Wall.
Drake: "Sir, it was Duke Agnus who bought the item from the foreign black market and kept it hidden."
Arthur: "What do you want me to do, sir?"
Arthur: "Stand by. I'll deal with Duke Agnus personally."
Drake: "By the way, sir, a letter has been sent to you."
Arthur: "A letter?"
Drake handed Arthur the letter. Arthur read it aloud:
"I sent my student to you. His name is Rogelio. Train him to become stronger. Make him a B-Rank adventurer, or if possible, push him to A-Rank. He has special circumstances and a unique power. Train him well. – Your Teacher, Jay."
Arthur smiled. "This is going to be interesting."
Drake: "What is this about, sir?"
Arthur: "You're going to have a junior." He laughed. "Call Rogelio and send him here."
A warrior fetched Rogelio from the inn where he was staying.
At the Northern Wall
Upon arriving at the Northern Wall, Rogelio felt a powerful aura pressing his body to the ground. Suddenly, a man appeared.
Arthur: "So, you're the one I'm going to train?"
Rogelio looked at him and felt a power unlike anything he had experienced before. He realized just how vast their difference in strength was.
Rogelio: "Yes, Jay, my teacher, sent me here."
Arthur released his aura and said, "Before I train you, what rank are you now?"
Rogelio: "I'm still at D-Rank, sir."
Arthur: "Then I want you to rank up to C-Rank today before I'll train you. That's my condition."
Rogelio thought it would be easy since he had already hunted in foreign lands and only had ten quests left to rank up. But Arthur added, "I forgot to mention: you need to rank up by completing only one quest. You know what that means."
Rogelio realized Arthur's intent—he would need to hunt a monster comparable to B-Rank strength.
Rogelio: "But I just got here. I'm still injured!"
Arthur looked at him and said, "You only have today." He left with a smile.
The Quest
Without wasting time, Rogelio headed to the Adventurer's Guild and accepted a quest:
Quest: Hunt down 3 ogres and collect their eyes as proof.
Location: Southern Forest.
Details: Ogres have B-Rank strength, hard skin, and low intelligence.
Rogelio wandered through the forest and finally spotted an ogre, standing twice as tall as the trees and wielding a massive club, walking alone.
He unsheathed his sword and hid behind a tree, waiting for the ogre to pass by. The moment the creature's back was turned, Rogelio leaped out and stabbed at its neck. However, the ogre's skin was so tough that the blade pierced only an inch.
Feeling the pain, the ogre roared, its massive voice shaking the air. Rogelio, still clinging to its back, quickly jumped off and landed at a safe distance. The ogre turned around, rage filling its red eyes, and lifted its club high before smashing it into the ground. The force cracked the earth where Rogelio had been standing moments before. He narrowly dodged to the left, then sprang onto the ogre's club, dashing toward its head to attempt another strike.
Just as he raised his blade, the ogre swung its other arm, punching Rogelio with incredible force. Though he blocked with his sword, the sheer strength sent him flying, slamming into a tree.
"Okay… time for Plan B," Rogelio muttered, coughing and shaking
"If I can't pierce it in one go, I'll just have to hit its weak spots," he strategized, gripping his sword tighter.
Rogelio dashed at the ogre again. This time, as the ogre smashed its club downward, Rogelio dodged forward with even greater speed. He slashed at the ogre's feet as he passed, slicing into its tough skin. The ogre roared again, stumbling slightly. Wasting no time, Rogelio darted behind the creature and slashed the back of its knees, forcing it to kneel.
The ogre, now kneeling, swung its massive arm horizontally. Rogelio spun into the air, narrowly avoiding the strike, then used the momentum of his spin to dash straight at the ogre's face. He slashed both of its eyes with precision, blinding the beast completely.
The ogre roared in pain, swinging its club wildly in all directions, unable to see. Rogelio deftly dodged each swing and ran to its side. He slashed at its remaining leg, forcing it to collapse onto the ground with a thunderous crash. Seizing his chance, Rogelio leaped high into the air, spun downward, and used all his strength to thrust his sword into the ogre's skull, finally killing it.
Panting on top of the fallen beast, Rogelio suddenly saw a shadow loom over him. He glanced up and froze: two more ogres had arrived, drawn by the earlier roar, and were about to bring their clubs crashing down on him.
"What the—!" Rogelio exclaimed, quickly leaping back just in time to avoid being smashed.
As he regained his footing, Rogelio smiled confidently. "You're tough creatures," he said, cracking his knuckles. "But I have my ways."
He taunted the ogres with a wave of his finger. "Come at me!"
The ogres roared and charged, but Rogelio, fueled by determination, used the same strategy as before. He dodged their attacks, struck at their weak spots, and, after a grueling fight, defeated both creatures using skill, agility, and precise strikes.
At the Guild
Front Desk: "Congratulations, Rogelio. You're now officially C-Rank. To take down ogres alone, you're strong."
Rogelio thanked them and returned to the Northern Wall.
Rogelio: "I've completed your request."
Arthur: "Tomorrow, we start your training. For now, rest."
Rogelio smiled, determined to grow stronger. "Thank you, sir. Next time, when I see those who attacked us, I'll defeat them on my own!"
The Next Day
Rogelio returned to the Northern Wall. Arthur handed him a wooden sword.
Arthur: "Attack me with all you've got. Let's see your strength."
Rogelio smiled, full of determination. "Alright, let's go!"
Thus, Rogelio's training—Part 2—began!
