Chapter 1 - Wish

December 2024

Third Person Pov

In a tidy apartment in the city, Aaron sat on his couch, rewatching Friends for what felt like the hundredth time. The familiar theme song played softly on his phone as he thought about one thing that had always bugged him: Rachel deserved a partner who truly supported her. Someone who would push her to achieve greatness, instead of holding her back. To Aaron, Ross was completely the wrong fit—overbearing, easily jealous, and emotionally immature.

"If only there was someone better for Rachel," Aaron muttered. But even as he imagined himself as that person, he knew perfection wasn't realistic. After all, no one could be completely flawless—not even a character in a sitcom.

Feeling hungry, Aaron paused the episode and headed to the kitchen to cook dinner. While waiting for the water to boil, he absentmindedly scrolled through his phone, flicking through random posts on social media. That's when a strange survey popped up on his screen:

"If you could reincarnate into your favorite TV show, what would you change and why?"

Aaron smirked and muttered under his breath, "I'd change a lot of things in Friends. I'd be the perfect partner for Rachel and Phoebe's protective older brother—someone to guide her and have her back when things go sideways."

After cooking, Aaron sat back down and continued watching the show. Season 4, Episode 1 was next—where Ross decided to leave Bonnie for Rachel. Aaron rolled his eyes as the drama unfolded, especially when Ross's immaturity caused yet another argument over "the letter." "This guy never learns," he muttered, shaking his head.

By the time the episode ended, it was 10:37 PM—his usual bedtime. He had to wake up early for work, after all. But as he lay in bed, his thoughts kept drifting back to the random survey he'd seen earlier.

"What if that actually happened?" he wondered. Life had been so dull lately, and he couldn't help but wish for something more exciting. How incredible would it be to interact with his favorite characters and make changes for the better?

What Aaron didn't realize was that his wish hadn't gone unnoticed. Somewhere, a deity had been listening, intrigued by his passion and determination. Deciding to grant him a rare opportunity, the deity began weaving Aaron's wish into reality.
