Chereads / Black Clover: Nah I'd Lose / Chapter 13 - 13. Dangerous Spy?

Chapter 13 - 13. Dangerous Spy?

(Guys, this week's goal is 100 Powerstones Whether this fic will continue or not would depend on the support I am getting which is decided by the number of Powerstones this fic receives or the number of Patreon members)

(Also one more thing, Some people might have already noticed it before, but in the synopsis, I had put 5 ch/week as scheduled, but due to this fic being new, I was uploading one chapter each day, Due to the growth I saw, I won't drop it to 5 directly, so 6 chapter for now, with Friday as off. The reason for this is because I had to write my other fic too(Naruto: The Crimson Error) as I am not not going to drop that.

Note- This DOESN'T contains Bonus chapter)

'But how will I even go to Heart Kingdom and even if I was able to go, how will I get their permission to get a chance to get hands-on with their techniques... I can't even steal it due to the queen being close to omnipotent? the sense in the whole kingdom'

Akeru quickly picked up his bag which was put in a secret location by him previously and ran away from this place, he was sure that he wouldn't be tracked, as this person didn't have any proper way to track him, other than knowing that he was going in the forest and that also due to him disposing his gloves and money around that part.

It was just his bad luck that this guy was able to find him.

Akeru this time completely focused on escaping and quickly got a branch and started flying through the forest.

He had started this journey in the morning and finally was out of the forest by evening.

He quickly secretly entered the city without official means, this time didn't steal money from people but directly entered a bank.

'They wouldn't really be able to track me if they don't come to know that I stole some stuff'

He had chosen this bank specifically as it was not only small, but also didn't have a proper maintenance facility from an outsider's point of view, so it was the best place to steal.

Even if it was a shabby bank, the money it held was high enough for Akeru to live for a few hundred years previously.

That night, he secretly crossed over three cities. The stamina of a mana-possessed kid was very high. When he was not flying, he ran while his mana recuperated throughout the entire night.

The sun rose and Akeru entered the new city.

He immediately started finding things and after a few hours, finally found a shop that was selling what he required.

The shop was at the end of an alley and its aura said that it was dangerous.

'This is it' He entered the shop with his mask on.

He looked at the dealer- no shopkeeper, and asked for the stuff.

"Which one?"

"Give me all of them," He said.

The guy was shocked momentarily but nodded.

It made sense.

After that, Akeru reached a nearby forest.

He looked at the water and brought out a spray and sprayed it on his hair.

In a few minutes, his black hair was transformed into a blonde colour.

That item was none other than a dye.

He then put two lenses in his eyes and in the reflection, his black eyes were now red.

'That would have normally brought attention to me in my previous life and people would have thought of me as hooligans, but in this life, such colours are more common, so it's fine' After changing his appearance, he decided to sleep.

'This place should be perfect to train'

"Ahhh" The magic knight of purple orca who had clashed with Akeru opened his eyes with a growl.

"huh" He clutched his chest and found out that there was no blood or hole in it.

'I am alive?' He was so shocked that his mind went blank for a second.

"I am alive! I am alive! I am alive! I am..." He started shouting like a madman while tears could be seen coming from his eyes.

He really thought that he was going to die.

He is just grateful that he is alive and can fulfil his regrets.

'I am finally going to propose to Miko-chan as soon as I reach the base' He made up his mind and used his hand to swipe away the tears.

He checked his body in the case and then found out that his communication device was broken, however, that was natural for that to happen.

He looked at the sky and found out that it had been only a few hours since he had fainted.

'I have to reach headquarters as soon as possible and report this' He thought while making his spell for the water bike.

"huh" He realized that his grimoire had been destroyed.

He closed his eyes and in the next instant, a lot of mana was transferred from his body to the air.

Surprisingly, it took the shape of a book and a replica of the guy's grimoire formed.

He cast the water bike spell immediately and zoomed towards the headquarters of Purple Orca to report his intelligence.

In this world, mages could reform their grimoires if they are destroyed, but it requires considerable mana, which is the reason people target other people's grimoires, as just a few seconds of the other party not being able to use their spells could lead to death.

And even if they are unable to kill the other party, at least their mana reserves would be consumed considerably.

Akeru knew of this fact and had used that to destroy his grimoire.

He knew that a person's grimoire disappears when they die, but, he never knew what would happen if it was destroyed deliberately.

The answer was given to him in the library about how Mages have a deep connection with their grimoires.

It might seem obvious at the surface, but not always logic and reality go hand in hand.

Asta was the case where it didn't happen.

The guy reached the headquarters bythe next morning and gave the intelligence he had gathered.

Due to the severity of the matter, it was directly reported to people working in Wizard King Tower.

Meanwhile, the guy went to propose.

Whether he succeeded or not is a mystery, but when he did that, he felt intense emotions.

The information about an intermediate level if not advanced level magic knight reached Wizard King's ears.

"Now, that is interesting, I wonder why he let that Purple Orca boy live?" Julius stroked his chin.

"I don't know the reason, but he definitely is dangerous, to defeat a Junior level knight in one blow, I believe he was afraid that we would be able to track him if he killed the boy," Marx said while furrowing his brows.

"Were we able to track him?"

Marx shook his head.

"How interesting, I wonder what kind of magic he uses?" He wondered in thought, even entertaining the thought of going to find him himself, however all those plans were stopped by the stern gaze of Marx.

"Ahem, I would leave the task of finding the culprit to you then, assign some knights to look in that area" Wizard king ordered while going back to work.

In the Clover King, there are 5 ranks of magic knights:

- Wizard King

- Grand Magic Knight

- Senior Magic Knight

- Intermediate Magic Knight

- Junior Magic Knight

Even if we ignore the contribution points gap between each stage, the difference between each rank is huge.

If we talk in terms of Heart Kingdom's stages, it would be something like:

Grand Magic Knight- Stage 0-1

Senior Magic Knight- Stage 1-3

Intermediate Magic Knight- Stage 4-6

Junior Magic Knight- Stage 7-9

These were approximations for the conversion of ranks, and the stage system itself was not absolute as we have seen a lot of cases where it doesn't hold, for those cases, there was a new stage entirely- Arcane Stage to contain all the outliers.

In clover kingdom, contribution also matters, so these were not absolute, but a general idea.

People higher up in power like to keep nobles at the top due to the superiority complex they have bred over the years in commoners.

Heck, commoner magic knight was not even a thing until a few years ago, it was mainly due to magic amount and talent, both were not found in commoners, along with nobles always suppressing them at each point possible, making their growth very slow.

Akeru woke up in the forest and hunted some animals to have breakfast or more like dinner from his point of view.

'I need to form water from my mana, I did get some insights from looking at the guy making the water spells, but they were not that significant, this would be the hardest step for me to overcome' He frowned while relocating near a stream.

He felt like if he saw water flowing near him, he might get some inspiration or some light-bulb moment.

It was the effect of watching too much fiction in his last life.

***

A/n- I took the liberty to properly define the power system and created the above conversion between magic knight ranks and their stages.

I know that it's not completely accurate, I might make some changes if a major plot hole happens due to this.

In the Cannon, Stage 1 corresponds to Vice-Captain Level, which is true here also.
