Emily's pov
I stood there at the other end of the table as my mother in law tasted the food I just prepared. Her face was filled with distain as she spit out the food in my face and threw the plate on the ground. "Are u kidding me, you can't even cook. Oh, I regret the day my son married you".
I quickly got on the floor to pack the broken glass. "Am sorry, I will clean this up", she grabbed my hair and spat on my face. "My son must divorce you. I don't want you here anymore". I flinched in pain, my head started to pound really hard.
Ryan walked in at the right moment. "What the hell is going on in my house", he screamed clearly angry. "Your ugly wife tried to poison my food. She is trying to kill me in my son's house".
Ryan turned to me, I was expecting him to defend me or at least say something but he just stood there, gawking at me like he really wanted to kill me. His eyes searched the dinning room. " Why is there a broken glass on the ground? Clean it immediately, you don't even do anything, all you do is sit at home and my dinning room is this messy?".
I tried to defend my self, this isn't my fault at all. "Ryan, I ...". "Save it", he cut me off immediately, I couldn't explain my self. "Clean this up and prepare my dinner, I don't want any noise ", his voice was final as he left for the room. I took a deep breath as I held my stomach. I was pregnant for him. Pregnant for Ryan and I couldn't even tell.
My mother-in-law threw the glass cup on the floor. "Have fun cleaning", with that she left the dinning. I picked up the broom and dustpan as I packed the broken glass on the floor. Hot tears filled my eyes and I clean. This wasn't the happy ever after I had imagined. I actually thought he loved me, I gave him all the money I had left in this world for him to start a business. He insisted I stay a housewife so that I won't stress my self.
I regret saying this but how I wished I had listened to father. My stomach twisted as I drifted to the past, when I ran out of the wedding. I should have listened, after what I did , they cut all ties with me, my father disowned me so did everyone else. After cleaning I dashed outside to throw away the broken glass. On getting back my eyes glanced at the TV.
My eyes widened in surprise, I saw my sister, dressed in a elegant gown and body guards were behind her. She waved at the fans screaming her name and hopped into her limousine. I don't remember the last time I entered a real car, Ryan always make sure I take the public bus just to embarrass me.
She wined down the window of the limousine as the paparazzi started asking questions. "So can you tell us when you will become the new CEO". She chuckled, pulling a strand of her hair to the back. "Well soon , probably this month. We still have some paperworks to sought out before I finally take over".
"How does it feels to be the youngest female CEO to take over the company ", a reporter asked. "It feels really great, since there is no one to stop me. Even if there is , that person wouldn't even have the courage or boldness to come".
I clenched my fists.I knew she was talking about me, that ruthless piece of shit. "What about your elder sister, the one that ran away on her wedding day?".
"She is dead", her voice was cold, like that really happened. I couldn't help but feel a stang on my chest. "I was dead to my own family". I continued to grief the fact that I lost everything when someone walked in . "Hello, Emily. Nice to see you".
My expression was replaced with hatred. "What are you doing here"
