Aeron, seeing this situation and hearing a gate had opened, turned serious. "Hurry and go inside the dojo," he instructed.
"But what about you, Master Aeron?" The man asked.
"I'll try to hold them back. My junior disciples are inside practicing. Tell them to lock the door when all of you have evacuated. I'll buy time for us until backup arrives," Aeron replied, his voice solemn.
The man nodded his head as he called all of the people to get inside the dojo. The disciples who saw them barging inside were full of questions.
When he heard what he said he was about to go outside but the guy named 'Aeron' shouted.
"Stay inside, lock the door, and call for help. Call the master who was in the city to come back. All of you are no match for this beast. I'll buy as many times as I can," he growled.
"But senior brother, you-you can't handle.." he did not finish his words as he smiled back and looked towards the stairs.
Yes, he saw it: swarms of beast; the ground trembled as the swarm approached—spiders the size of wolves, insect-like creatures with razor-sharp pincers, and feral, snarling wolf-beasts with glowing red eyes.
"Close the door, Alan; hurry and call for help," he bellowed as he rushed down the stairs, his hands glowing. Aeron didn't flinch, with a thunderous roar
Clenching his fist, the air was thick with screeches and growls. Asher, seeing this, was silent, as he could not fathom how he could possibly stop this.
"Is this how you die in the end?" he mumbled as he looked at Aeron.
Aeron then focused his core energy to strengthen himself.
With a thunder-like roar, Aeron slammed his fist from the cemented stairs, sending a shockwave rippling outward.
The feral beast that was about to scratch him was thrown back as it crashed against rocky terrain.
Some of the wolves staggered but kept coming, leaping towards him. Dogding sideways, he delivered a powerful punch to its side, breaking its fucking rib with a crack.
Using the narrow stairs to his advantage, Aeron had to force the beast to approach in a smaller number.
His strikes were powerful, each eliminating a smaller beast as it was hit.
Seeing another beast a massive spider pounced on him, he ducked as he countered with an upward strike that shattered its carapace.
"If his strength were measured, he would be in the Third Order," he mumbled in awe, while watching this scene.
The beast that got hit collapsed, oozing a black odor. Aeron used this beast to knock some of them down, despite those efforts.
Aaron's breathing grew heavier, but he refused to let them pass. His hands glowed brighter again.
Even though he started to get tired, he surpassed his limits as the energy in his palms became firm and concentrated. He launched a strike that was more deadly than before.
The spiders and insects were struck like a running car smashed them, and they flew lifelessly. The stairway was filled with dead bodies and the blood of each beast.
Using the terrain, he leaped off, delivering a spinning kick.
"This wave is not going to end. Why is there no help yet?" he cursed.
Suddenly, one massive wolf lunged at him, its jaw closing in on his face.
So to dodge, Aeron twisted in mid-air, landing a crushing blow to its skull and sending it tumbling down the stairs, crashing towards the other in the back.
Aeron could see that at the foot of the mountain, more beasts were climbing the stairs, never ending. It was so overwhelming.
For every beast he killed, two more seemed to take its place. Sometimes three, or five. Blood dripped from a gash on his shoulder, as his breathing became ragged.
Seeing him tired, the beast lunged. Aeron crossed his arms, using his Aether Core to form a shield for him as the attack deflected.
But maintaining this barrier drained his Aether Core rapidly, "Fuck you, beast, let's die together," he yelled fiercely, dropping the barrier.
He then unleashed a powerful strike, obliterating the nearest beasts. Then a spider's spincer slashed his leg, and a wolf's claw tore his back, making him yelp in pain.
Another insect also latched onto his arms, its mandible are sinking deeper. Aeron roared and crushed its head with his other hand as the black blood sprayed his face.
Now, at the top of the stairs, where he was starting to get pushed back, Aeron stood at the field where he had practiced earlier.
The dojo's door was just 20 meters away from him; his body was battered and bleeding.
"Earth Shattering Fist," he shouted at the top of his lungs, gathering all of his remaining energy in his core to his fist.
He struck the ground with both fists, releasing a devasting thunderclap that sent each beast flying in every direction.
The wave of energy created a crater in the ground, temporarily halting the advances.
Asher could not help but respect the man, as Aeron did his best, while he could only watch as the beast passed through his ghostly body.
Despite his martial technique, more beasts surge forward. Aeron fought back, using the broken pieces of the cemented rock as weapons when his strength began to wane.
A spider caught him off guard as it sank its fangs into his shoulder, blood dripping from countless wounds pooling at his feet.
Then another beast a large wolf lunged at him, clenching his fist one last time. With a final roar, he put all of his remaining power in a blinding exploding.
His junior disciple had already called for help, but no one answered. The disciple earlier who wanted his senior brother not to act like a hero.
Was about to die as he watched in the slight gap with tears on his face; Aeron, who had taken out some of the beast, collapsed to the ground; his body was motionless with blood dripping from his face.
"This will be my end, I suppose; if there was a god in this world, can you at least grant us humans hope that we can live through this disaster?" he said his final words as he died.
When he died Asher could not help but tear up from this act of heroism, he then also felt his vision darkened.
Asher then read his memory, gaining insight into the moves he had used during his battle. It felt like he was Aeron itself, as he felt that if he used it now, he could incorporate the same moves as Aeron.
