Hermia's eyes narrowed further. "Oh, so I should be flattered now?"
"Maybe a little," he teased, his voice low and amused. Then, with a quick flash of his perfect teeth, he added, "Or not. After all, you didn't get very far, did you?"
Hermia rolled her eyes and huffed, unable to suppress the faint flush creeping into her cheeks. "Ha-ha, very funny," she muttered, glaring at him.
Niklaus chuckled again, clearly enjoying himself. "Come on, Mia. Lighten up," he said, gesturing toward his sleek car now parked on the side of the road. "Get in. Let's get you out of here before you catch a cold—or worse, decide to test your luck walking these streets again."
"I already ordered an Uber," Hermia found herself saying despite wanting to follow him.
"You can cancel, I don't know how people are comfortable entering a total stranger's car also it's in the night now, not safe," Niklaus growled with a frown.
