Having only experienced two dungeons, Dante and Pikachu always acted under the presumption that the Pokemons in each floor are always the same.
And while Dante knew some Pokemons become stronger the deeper they are in the dungeon due to playing the game, he thought it was only the dungeons in the mid to late game which possesses many more floors.
Therefore, when they climbed up to the 6th floor, ready to sweep all the Pokemons like they did on the previous floors, they were shocked to find a different variety of Pokemons just in the first room.
Looking around, the Tauros and Snubbull were still the same as in the previous floors. However, there were also two new Pokemons here. One was Raticate, the evolution of Rattata.
The other, more troublesome, are the two Luxios in the room.
Luxio is the evolution of Shinx. Not only do they learn the Dark type move Bite, they are also incapable of being paralyzed by Thunder Wave due to having Electric typing, not to mention having resistance to Pikachu's Electric moves.
Luckily, both of them took a break on the 5th floor. Pikachu also has Lightning Rod, making their Electric attacks ineffective. Otherwise, if they faced the Pokemons in this room while being exhausted, they would have no chance to fight back.
After grouping the Pokemon together as much as possible, Pikachu used Electroweb to slow down Tauros and Raticate. Dante focused on attacking Tauros first, coupled with the damage from Electroweb, he was easily taken down.
At this moment, the two Luxio and Snubbull arrived. One of them almost attacked Dante from the side. Luckily, Dante saw their energy flow with Copycat and quickly slipped in the shadows, with the paws just passing the tip of his head.
Dante emerged from Pikachu's shadow and Pikachu quickly used Electroweb on the three opposing Pokemons. While Electroweb can only cause little damage to the Luxios, the decrease in Speed is still very valuable.
After that, Pikachu was responsible for finishing off Raticate and Snubbull while Dante the two Luxios. Although the battle was a bit dangerous, the two of them finished it relatively unscathed.
For the rest of the floor, the two of them also encountered Arbok and Lickitung. According to Dante's estimate, the stats of the four evolved Pokemon have already reached the early 30s.
Not only do they take much harder to defeat, their Speed even after being slowed down can still pose a threat to the two of them if they are careless.
Dante and Pikachu had to proceed the rest of the dungeon much more cautiously. At this time, Dante regretted not buying a Max Elixir.
The Max Elixir in the game is used in order to restore the PP of all the moves. Because there was no such thing as PP in this world, instead, the Max Elixir is used by Explorers to recover their energy when they have to explore dungeons with many floors.
Because they were still exploring beginner-level dungeons, Dante thought they would not need such things yet. He was hoping to save as much Poke as possible and buy Pikachu some powerful move discs.
Now, the two of them had to rest once every floor to recover their energy. Dante estimates that, with how much time they've spent on each floor, they'll probably have to spend the night in this dungeon.
However, as luck would have it, the two of them picked up a Max Elixir on the 8th floor. Because Pikachu's Electroweb and Thunder Wave were very crucial to their exploration, he was the one who ingested the Max Elixir.
With Pikachu back to full energy, they proceeded to climb through the rest of the dungeon at a much faster pace.
And finally, the two of them reached the peak.
Because of the stronger Pokemons they had to face, the two of them gained another level during their climb, reaching level 17. After leveling up, Dante learned the move U-turn.
U-turn is a Bug type physical move with a base power of 70. After using the move, the Pokemon moves closer to the opponent to attack then instantly jumps back.
In an official Pokemon Trainer competition, after a Pokemon uses U-turn, they will return to the Pokeball after attacking instead of jumping back.
At the end of the dungeon, they found themselves on the peak of Mt. Bristle.
"Treasure~ Treasure~ where is the treasure?"
As they got closer and closer to the end of the dungeon, Pikachu's excitement couldn't be contained. One of the reasons he chose to become an Explorer was to find rare treasures and he was achieving it right now!
Looking around the peak of Mt. Bristle with Pikachu, Dante hasn't found any hole or crevice that was seen in the game.
"Dante, here! Look! I found it!"
Just as Dante was going to use Copycat and look at the walls, Pikachu's voice rang out.
Looking at Pikachu, he was currently holding some pieces of soil from a wall. After staring closely, the soil doesn't look like it was part of a wall, but instead placed there recently to cover up something.
Dante just got to that side of the wall and Pikachu has already dug out all the soil that was placed there.
"Ugh, it's no use. Only that part is made of soil, I can't dig the rest. What should we do?"
Looking at the small hole in the wall, Dante fell into thinking. Using Copycat, he already saw little strands of pink and brown energy emanating from the wall. However, even with their small bodies, the two can't fit in.
"Wait here Pikachu, let me try and see first what's on the other side of the wall."
After leaving those words, Dante used his Ghost mode. Floating off the ground, he tried touching the wall and his hands penetrated it. After confirming that he can pass through, Dante's body passed through the whole mountain wall.
After going through a meter thick solid wall of rocks, Dante finally emerged on the other side. Dante expected there to be a cave of sorts, but as it turns out, there was just a large pocket of empty space.
Because of the lack of light, even with his Pokemon vision, he still wasn't able to clearly see what's inside. He had to cancel his Ghost mode and then use Copycat to see where the energy flow came from.
After turning it on, he saw that the energy came from a round stone. Other than that stone, there were no other energy sources inside this pit.
Picking up the stone, Dante tried to study what it was, but due to poor lighting, he had to give up. Putting it in the bag, he used his Ghost mode again and then exited this space.
Pikachu was waiting anxiously outside, and when he saw Dante coming out, he hurried in front of him.
"So? What's behind the wall? Was there a Golden Treasure Chest? Ooohh, was it filled to the brim with Pokes?"
Calming down the excited Pikachu, Dante was about to take out the stone he got from behind the wall and share to Pikachu the 'treasure' they were looking for.
However, when he read the description of the stone from the menu, Dante was stunned!
