After leaving the pokemon center Tru and Justin made there way back through viridian forest and into viridian city. Might as well challenge the viridian gym again now that the team has grown a bit. Justin heads to the gym while Tru says she is going to search for more pokemon to catch. After getting to the gym I notice a bunch of trainers have gathered there and there is talk about the old gym leader returning. The last gym leaders name was Blue one of the best know trainers to come from pallet town and the grandson of the great professor Oak. I enter the gym and prepare for the battle I already beat the gym trainer so I only need to challenge the leader now. The current gym leader is a girl named Nix she accepts my challenge but informs me that we will have a very special guest spectating our battle. I lead with surge. Nix sends outs cubone. Surge use water gun and follow up with double slap. The cubone dodges the water gun but surge connects with the double slap. Cubone then throws his bone club at surge who managed to dodge. Surge use tail whip try and trip the cubone. The cubone hits the floor after being tripped bay surges tail. He then uses water gun again knocking the cubone out. Next Nix sends in her ace pokemon marrowak. A fully evolved pokemon I don't know if we can handle it. I try the same move again but the marrowak wasn't falling for and land a heavy blow to surge with it's bone club. Knocking him away. Surge gets up not ready to call it quits yet. Try using water gun again. But the attack misses and marrowak land double kick. This time surge is slow to get up he can't take another hit. Use hypnosis surges eyes glow a deep shade of purple it locks eyes with the marrowak and it seems the move is working marrowak eyes look heavy under its bone helmet. But did not fall asleep. I quickly tell surge to blast it with a water gun the move hits and the marrowak falls over after the hit but gets back up and comes charging into surge hitting him with a headbutt. Surge goes down I return him to his pokeball and send in Blaze. I look at Blaze seeing the determination in his eyes not a good match up going to be a tough battle. Blaze use ember and aim for the head I yell. Blaze launches his attack it's hits now while the attack doesn't do much damage the marrowak is temporarily blinded by the fire in its face. Blaze use scratch. Blaze rushes in hitting the marrowak again but it's recovered from the ember and has it's bone club ready. It hits Blaze in the center of his body with the club knocking blaze to the floor he gets up use smokescreen. The gym is filled with black smoke we both loose sight of our pokemon so neither of us know what going on after a few minutes the smoke clears and I see blaze on top of the marrowak slashing at its helmet and body. Marrowak is unable to battle. But blaze stays there continuing his attack I yell for him to stop but he doesn't seem to hear me. Stop it before he hurts marrowak nix yells I rush in to stop blaze grabbing him but he then turns on me and slashes at me I drop him and his eyes are red and he doesn't seem to recognize me. Blaze then rages out blowing flames and slashing at anything that's close to him. Then a heat wave blast us all to the ground when I look up I see blaze laying on the ground and a charizard standing over him with smoke still coming from its mouth. You really need to train the charmander better says a man standing off to the side of the battlefield he is older then me but can't be more than 25 years old with brown spiked hair. The charizard returns to his side and I recall blaze to his pokeball. The man introduces himself as blue the old gym leader of viridian city and he looks angry. He tells me charmander was consumed with rage and if he hadn't intervened he could have killed that marrowak. I apologize to nix I had no idea blaze would act like that I'm not sure what happened during the smokescreen. Blue then tells me that charmander isn't a good choice for beginners they are ill tempered and if not trained properly end up causing much worse problems then just not listening to there trainers. He then tells me about a place called the charific valley where most of them come from and how it's a harsh environment and it's kill or be killed out there so it's natural but a hard thing to train out of the pokemon and if I was going to have a charmander as a partner I'd have to learn more about them and how they think it's not as simple as yelling commands and winning g battles they need a strong bond with there trainer to achieve greatness otherwise there wild instincts take over. After getting the earth badge I meet back up with Tru at the pokemon center. We then start to head back into viridian forest on our way back to pewter city.
