Nirvana is finally destroyed and Alex gets the magic power he has always wanted. Now there won't be anyone who can misuse this ancient device anymore like Oracion Seis in the series.
Alex's team returns to Cait Shelter to report their job to Roubaul. It will be a heart-breaking moment though because Wendy will lose her family again. Everyone else in Cait Shelter will disappear now that Nirvana is gone.
When they arrive in the village, Wendy excitedly reports that they have finished the job successfully. She tells Roubaul and the villagers many things that happened during the mission. They all are smiling when hearing how happy she is for finishing this high-class job.
But this happy moment needs to end soon because Roubaul doesn't have much time. His reason for staying in this world has gone and his spirit is finally freed. Now he has to go to the afterlife, following his family and friends.
He still has a little time before ascending, so he starts explaining everything about Nirvana, the Nirvits, and also about himself. He tells them his identity as a lingering spirit and that the other villagers are merely illusions made with his magic.
Of course, when Roubaul reveals the truth, everyone except for Alex is shocked. Wendy and Carla obviously can't accept the truth immediately. But they are forced to accept it when the illusory villagers disappear one by one.
Cana can't help but hug the crying Wendy and Carla because she knows how it feels to lose people they love. She lost her mother at a very young age, so she can understand what Wendy and Carla feel.
But she also knows that it must be more painful for Wendy and Carla because they don't just lose 1 person, but so many people at once. They lose their whole family, their home. That's why she quickly hugs them to show them that they still have others who care about them.
Even Alex can't help but tears up a little. He thought he was ready for this, but it hit his heart much harder than he thought it would. He doesn't remember his real family from his past life, so he always has a longing for a family and seeing others losing their families really saddens him.
"Alex-boy, about what we were talking about last week....." Roubaul looks at Alex as his body starts to disappear.
"Please don't worry, Sir. I always keep my promise and will always try to keep them no matter how hard it will be. You can leave Wendy and Carla to me, I promise to protect and take care of them for you. I believe that Fairy Tail will also accept them with open arms. They will have a new home and a new family that will love them, so you can rest in peace." Alex says it very seriously to reassure Roubaul.
The old spirit smiles widely as he nods. "Thank you. I leave them to you. Please make them happy. Wendy, Carla, you still have a long time ahead of you. This parting must be hard, but you also have a new encounter and will have more in the future. You will find good friends and family who will love you and care about you. Good bye, my children, we will always love you."
Roubaul's spirit finally disappears after saying his last message. The whole village returns to its original state with broken shacks, walls, floor, etc. Everything here was the result of Roubaul's powerful Illusion Magic.
It was so powerful that the illusions actually had physical structures. If Alex didn't know the truth, he would have thought that everything here was real because he could touch even the Illusory villagers as if they were real people.
Anyway, now everything here has gone, leaving only an abandoned village, Wendy, and Carla. Their Cait Shelter symbols also disappear along with Roubaul. Now they don't have anything left anymore.
"Wendy, Carla, I know this must be hard for you, so you can cry as much as you want. But please listen to me. Master Roubaul has talked with me before the mission. I will spare the details for later if you want to know more about it, but we basically have talked about you. I have promised him to take care of you 2 after he disappears and I will keep my promise. My plan is to take you back with us to our Guild, Fairy Tail. I will take care of everything, so you don't need to worry about anything. But I also won't force you, so if you want to do something else, I will still help you with everything you need because I've promised the old man. So, what do you want to do?"
"Come join us, you two. I will also help you. I promise it will be fun. Fairy Tail is a very good place." Cana also wants them to join Fairy Tail.
"*Sob sob* C-can we?" Wendy asks while wiping her tears.
"Yeah, you can." Alex pats their heads while smiling.
"T-then, please take care of us." Wendy and Carla agree to follow them back to Fairy Tail.
Soon, they leave the abandoned village and return to Magnolia. Wendy and Carla are still very sad on their way out of the forest, but they brighten up slowly as the group starts entering towns and villages.
They have never left the forest since they were there, so seeing life outside the forest is very refreshing for them. The train seems to be the most exciting experience for them because everything just looks different when seen from a moving train.
After arriving in Magnolia, they immediately go to the Guild. Alex knows their Guild Mates must be worried because they should've returned already last week after completing the criminal hunting job and Alex forgot to contact them because he didn't think it would take a week to finish his Nirvana plan.
So as he has thought, when they arrive in the Guild, everyone is surprised and they are rushing at them to ask where they've been for the last week. They are very worried because Mages' jobs are very risky and could lead to death.
Alex and Cana can only apologize to them while telling them that they had an urgent business after finishing the job. But they still reprimand Alex and Cana for not contacting them at all and making them worried.
After lecturing Alex and Cana, everyone finally realizes that there are 2 unknown people there. They look at the little girl and the little cat with puzzled expressions and they quickly realize that Alex's team's urgent business must be about these 2 little kids.
"Alex, I'll need you to explain everything to me in the office later. But for now, can you tell me about these 2 children?" Makarov asks Alex while looking at Wendy and Carla.
"Understood, Master. So, this is Wendy, and this is Carla." Alex introduces the 2 children to everyone and the 2 quickly bow before hiding shyly behind Alex.
"Well, the urgent business that I mentioned has something to do with them. I can't reveal the details to everyone, but now I am responsible for these 2. They are Mages too, so I want to register them into the Guild. I will take care of everything else, but I need your approval to accept them into the Guild, Master." Alex says it while patting Wendy's head.
"Hmm, I don't have a problem accepting people you recommend. But the most important thing is I need to know whether they want to join or not because I don't want to force them. So, Wendy and Carla, right? Do you want to join Fairy Tail?" Makarov looks at Wendy and Carla while smiling softly.
Alex hasn't said anything else, but Makarov knows that they must've gone through something unpleasant, so he tries to be as warm as possible to them.
"Y-yes, please let us join you." Wendy says timidly while Carla just nods.
"Alright then. Alex has said that you are Mages, so I don't need to test your magic. Usually, we'll still test it to know your levels so we can assign the correct jobs, but I will leave it to Alex's judgment as an S-Class, so we don't need to do the test."
Makarov smiles as he accepts Wendy and Carla into the Guild. He gives them Fairy Tail marks and now they are officially joining Fairy Tail. As usual, the Guild holds a celebration for getting new members and now Alex is the one paying for everyone's drink as an apology for making them worried.
Then while the party goes on, Alex is talking with Makarov about what happened this last week. He didn't say that he was looking for Nirvana though, just saying that he felt something unusual and went to check it.
Then everything led to him finding out about Cait Shelter, Nirvana, Nirvits, Wendy, and Carla. Makarov is surprised that Alex destroyed Nirvana, but he is also relieved about it. He actually knows about Nirvana and its hidden danger from history, so he is relieved that it's gone now.
Alex thought Makarov would at least be a little mad at him for diving into danger with his team. But Makarov is actually happy that he did it because it ended up helping many people, so Makarov praises Alex instead and now this matter is completely over.
