Chapter 7 - Anxious about Lucas’ arrival

The next morning, Clara was a little anxious about Lucas' arrival. She knew that this would be a different moment, something that would change the course of her classes and even her own life. Her house was impeccably tidy, and Clara realized that by inviting him, she was not only creating a more comfortable space for him to learn, but also establishing a new kind of intimacy.

When Lucas arrived, he seemed more nervous than usual. Although he was confident at school, here, in his teacher's house, he felt like he was in unfamiliar territory. Clara welcomed him with a calm smile, trying to dispel any discomfort he might be feeling.

"Make yourself comfortable, Lucas," Clara said, guiding him to the room where she was preparing the materials for the class. "We can start studying now, or if you prefer, we can talk a little first."

Lucas looked around, noting the details of her home. It was a welcoming environment, but also a little different from the rigid atmosphere of school. He sat down, tempted to let go of the tension. She felt that something was about to happen, but she didn't know exactly what.

"I think we can start with the lessons, teacher," Lucas replied, trying to keep the situation normal.

As Clara began to explain the content, she realized that her mind was far away, in a place where the attraction she felt for Lucas was stronger than her focus on studying. Their eyes met from time to time, and each exchange of glances seemed to carry an unspoken meaning, something that they were both beginning to recognize, but without naming it.

The class continued with more difficulty than Clara imagined. She tried to concentrate on the exercises, but Lucas's presence by her side was becoming a constant distraction. He seemed to be aware of this too, but he also seemed hesitant, as if he didn't know how to act in this new environment, away from the classroom and the supervision of others.

After a few hours of studying, the atmosphere between them became even denser. Lucas felt that the atmosphere was changing. He was no longer the young man admired for his looks and muscles, but a young man facing an emotional dilemma with the woman who taught him. He knew something was growing inside him, something deeper than just physical attraction. He was beginning to feel an emotional connection with Clara that he had never imagined, but still, there was a tension, a fear that it would cross a line that he might not even know where it was.

Clara, on the other hand, felt increasingly torn. On the one hand, she wanted to respect the professional boundaries that had always been clear in her life. But on the other, what was between her and Lucas was something she could not simply ignore. There was something genuine between them, something that awakened an energy in her that she had not felt in years.

"Lucas," Clara began, breaking the silence. "I can't deny that something has changed between us. I… I don't know how to deal with it, but I think you can feel it too."

Lucas looked at Clara, his eyes reflecting the complexity of his own feelings. He knew what she meant, but the words seemed hard to find.

"Yes, teacher. I… I feel something too. But it's strange. I don't know what to do with it." Clara felt vulnerable, but also relieved to realize that he wasn't ignoring what was happening between them. She knew that any step from that moment on could change everything, but she also felt that something needed to happen, that the truth between them needed to be shared, without any more games or disguises.

It was a moment of decision, and Clara knew that, by crossing that line, things would never be the same. She looked into Lucas's eyes, seeing the confusion, but also the same flame that she felt inside herself. She didn't know what the future would bring, but in that moment, she was willing to see where that connection could take them.
