The bright morning sunlight from the glass windows shone gently on Sehun's sleeping face. In his grogginess, he squirmed and turned around, forgetting he was sleeping on the sofa, and fell on his face.
"Ouch... That hurts..." he frowned with his eyes still closed, rubbing his face. He looked around him, confused.
A sense of incongruence assaulted him, making Sehun doubtful whether he is in his apartment or not. He recognized that it was indeed his yet it baffled him why there are things that doesn't fit the picture.
Take for example, there were a package sitting on the coffee table. As far as he remembered, except for the remote, it was empty as of yesterday. A shelf of books that never existed was placed instead on the corner he used for putting picture frames.
The living room layout was still the same, same beige walls, same TV, same floor and almost the same furniture except for the shelf. He went to his room, his worries doubling each step he takes.
The king-sized light gray bed and bedcovers the two large cabinets for his outfits, the Japanese lamp on the nightstand , and the modern-styled vanity table and mirror. It matched Sehun's description about his own room and it made him exhale out of relief. Yes, nothing absurd is happening, just his eyes are too sleepy and he was just imagining things.
He glanced to the vanity mirror and muttered," Yeah, I'm definitely imagining..." and furrowed his eyebrows once more. He glanced once more and approached the mirror, revealing an attractive silver-haired young man with an lean physique and flawless skin. Because of his furrowed brows, his features was more on to a sharper look , achieving a charming fierce kind of handsomeness. He, too had a frown but gave an image of an irritated yet alluring male god. His most striking feature was his beautifully colored eyes: If his left eye like a molten metal fluidly dancing over the heat, then his right eye was a palette of gray and green touched by flecks of gold.
Sehun's hand reached out the mirror and to his shock, the guy mirrored his actions flawlessly.
"No way... this can't be me... right?" he faltered, stunned.
****************
In more than ten minutes, after pinching and slapping himself to ensure he wasn't dreaming, Sehun came into conclusion. He got transmigrated into the world of [Roses and Thorns] and he absolutely had no idea how to go back to the real world.
His phone showed various news which clearly showed the gender roles reversed of sexes here like news about a guy raped or even about the approved men's rights needed to be updated. It also showed about monster subjugation, hunters, clans and politics unique to this world.
The character he transmigrated into to was none other than the customized character he made and although he was grateful that he was more handsome than before, he was seriously pissed off to understand he was disgustingly weak as he struggled much lifting just a corner of the sofa where he slept.
Sehun's character needs to develop as it has never been brought to his full potential before because he didn't even tried.
"Damn... this isn't good. Living in this game, no, living in this world is not any from different walking on a landmine." Sehun tried to calmly assessed his situation. Disaster in the name of game progression, always strikes the characters to make them stronger. Monsters and villains were not lacking, and death commonly trails after them. Instead of getting stronger, Sehun would more likely end up dead. Lost in his thoughts, he groaned when he suddenly heard his doorbell ringing and walked quite lazily to the door. Who could this be? I hope there was at least someone I know in this world or at least someone who knew him he thought as he opened the door to see a smiling delivery girl holding a large package in her arms.
"Hello, hereis the delivery...are you Mr. Park.…?" She beamed at first Sehun but then the delivery girl's cheerful smile gradually shifted to gawking at him. A trickle of blood flowed from her nose and yet she was oblivious, but got stucked staring at Sehun.
"Uh, um...excuse me, noona? Your nose... it's bleeding." Sehun pointed out. Seeing her not responding, he took a clean handkerchief he always bring in his pocket and leaned a little bit towards her to wipe the blood, absolutely unaware how severely destructive his face now is.
" You should take care of your health more, noona. " Sehun reprimanded as he finished wiping the blood." Now we're all good. I'll be taking the package then." He took the package. "Thank you for the service."
The weight of the package surprised him, reminding him that this was a gender reversed game and this was to be his reality before going back to the real world.
He was about to turn away when the girl spoke as if she whispered.
"Ha-handkerchief."
"What did you say?"
She exhaled. "Ummm... Sir. May I have the handkerchief? I'll wash it and return it to you!"
"Don't worry. It's cheap so I'm going to throw it anyway."
"Please! Let me wash it!" the girl insisted, her eagerness evident in her voice.
"Okay." Sehun handed her the handkerchief, slightly amused by her insistence. " Thanks again." He closed the door and inhaled. He froze in shock when a white screen suddenly appeared in front of him.
