"Mama, why do you always try to ruin my happiness?" Adaora snapped. "Emeka is everything I've ever wanted. He's rich, handsome, and treats me like a queen."
Her father tried to intervene. "Money isn't everything. A good man will show you his character, not just his wealth."
But Adaora ignored them. To her, Emeka was perfect. He was her ticket to the life she had always dreamed of.
The wedding was a lavish affair. Adaora wore a dress encrusted with pearls, and the reception was held at a grand hotel. The town buzzed with excitement, and Adaora basked in the glory of her fairytale wedding.
But the fairytale began to unravel soon after the wedding.
At first, Adaora was thrilled with her new life. Emeka's mansion was filled with luxury—crystal chandeliers, marble floors, and imported furniture. But there were strange rules. She wasn't allowed to enter certain rooms. She wasn't allowed to question his late-night outings. And most unsettling of all, the housemaids often disappeared without explanation.
