Wallace's world brightened, and he noticed he had arrived back in Hell, the space he was in before experiencing the first trial, nine deaths. His soul was visibly shaking and flickering at that time.
"Have you decided to surrender?" she asked again as she appeared in front of him.
"Why are you so annoying? I said before that I won't surrender in any way. I would rather die trying than surrender," he answered.
"To let you know, the first trial is the easiest out of all the trials," she said.
"I don't care," he answered.
"Piak!" He was hit by an invisible force and thrown back. He shuddered from the intense pain hitting his body.
"Since you don't want to surrender, you will be the first person in history to go through the second trial. It's called Cerberus' Wrath," she said.
"You better run for your life now."
The massive gate that had already closed before opened, and wails of agony rang out from the gate. The souls nailed to the gate were crying out in pain due to the immense torture. The door that was only opened a little before opened completely, and a creature twice as large as Wallace himself walked out from the gate.
The creature had a large lion-like body, giving it an immense ferocious aura, and it had three heads roaring out, adding to the dangerous aura it was emitting. From behind it, a snake-like tail extended out. The three heads had six red eyes, and its three mouths opened at the same time, roaring out aloud angrily.
It pounced on Wallace the moment it saw him. Wallace turned around and ran; the creature was giving him a dangerous feeling, one he had never felt before. He ran faster than he ever could, but the creature had speed disproportionate to its size. It kept catching up to Wallace every passing moment.
It finally caught up with Wallace and waved its claw.
"Humph!" Wallace gave a muffled grunt. Three claw marks appeared on the back of his soul body. He felt intense pain; the pain from the nine deaths paled in comparison to this pain. There was a burning feeling on the wound, making it feel as if the wound was on fire.
He gritted his teeth and continued to run, but the creature overtook him. It turned around and rushed towards him ferociously. Just when it was some meters away from him, it pounced. He slid on the ground, narrowly avoiding the claw aimed at his head, and continued running.
Cerberus slid forward and stopped before turning around, continuing its pursuit. It caught up with Wallace once again, leaving a series of claw marks on his body. Wallace gritted his teeth, ignored the pain, and continued to run. The game of pursuit continued, but one was clearly the predator, while the other was the prey.
Without a sense of time, he continued to run. He knew the creature was playing with him; it could have killed him if it wanted to, but it would just catch up to him, claw his body, and slow down a little. The trial was far more difficult than the first trial; not only would he feel intense pain far more than what he felt during the first trial, but he also felt a burning feeling on his wound.
He stopped and turned to face the creature, wanting it to kill him, but the latter just left a series of cuts that not only caused unimaginable pain but also a burning feeling. It felt as if he had been set on fire, one that was not burning him but giving him the feeling of being thrown into fire.
It was then he knew the creature would not kill him. Its only mission was to damage his body. He had no choice but to continue running, as the latter would not damage him, and the damage was far worse than death.
He continued running forward without a sense of direction and time, trying to escape from the creature torturing him by inflicting damage that came with unimaginable magnitude of pain and burning feeling. He gritted his teeth as he ran, running desperately, trying to escape, but there was no escape; the pass was just long, without an end in sight, and the creature was inflicting damage on him.
He ran forward in desperation; despair was starting to set in, but he knew he couldn't stop. To minimize the damage as much as possible, he must continue running.
Running for a long time, despair set in, but there was no choice. This time, it felt as if his soul was set on fire. He continued running forward without a sense of tiredness before finally seeing a large door appear at the end of the passage. Elated, he rushed towards the door. Cerberus caught up with him and head-butted him.
He was thrown forward as he felt intense pain, but he gritted his teeth, stood up, and continued to run. The head-butt pushed him towards the goal
"Slash" Another damage was inflicted on him, but he continued gritting his teeth. He finally arrived at his goal, elated, he entered through the slit that had been opened, which was just enough to make him pass through, but not even enough for the creature.
"Ah, Ah" he gasped violently and hissed in pain.
The chase had made him forget where he was; he just focused on surviving. Now that he had finally survived, the feeling of elation died down like a fire that had been put out with water. He gritted his teeth due to the pain and the burning feeling from the pain and looked around warily.
"Pa, Pa" A series of claps was heard. He looked forward and saw Yama clapping while seated on a throne, with the lady standing behind him respectfully.
"Welcome to my chambers," He said.
"Honestly, I did not think that you would make it here. You are the first human to make it here."
"You are a damn tenacious bastard and a stubborn one. I have to give it to you for that," He said.
"You passed the nine deaths and the wrath of Cerberus stage, so you must be tired. Do you surrender?" He asked.
Wallace did not even have the strength to answer; he just looked at the latter with a defiant gaze.
"I'm the one in charge of the third trial, I'm very lazy, I don't want to stand up, so it will be in your best interest just to surrender now, and you will be nailed to the door. If you make me stand up, you will wish you had surrendered when you were being told to," He said.
Despite the burning feeling, Wallace still looked at the latter with an unrelenting gaze, showing that he would rather die than surrender. The whole atmosphere turned oppressive as Yama looked at him. He felt a pressure crushing down on him, but he still continued to look at the latter with his stubborn gaze.
"I will make you wish you had surrendered, and I will make you beg me to set you free," He said, as a whip appeared in his hand.
Wallace looked at the whip in dread.
"Out of the respect I have for you, let me tell you the origin of this whip," He said, as he shook the whip, and "Pa" a beating sound was heard.
"Arghh" Wallace shouted out in pain, as he felt as if he had been electrocuted. That, coupled with the burning feeling from before, made the pain he was feeling unimaginable. His life flashed before his eyes, and he saw a mass of dark gas rise from the depth of the place the whip had hit him, manifesting into the image of a ferocious human-like creature without legs, just cloaked in a dark robe.
The creature bared its fangs at him and rushed towards him, only to pass through him.
"This whip is made from the dark stone, one of the treasures in the universe, resulting from the coagulation of rich negative emotions and the essence that rose from the destruction of a planet. The negative emotions used are complete negative emotion crystals that have all the negative emotions you can ever speak of. When a soul body is hit with it, it feels as if electricity is passing through the soul body, and a manifestation of a negative demonic genie is formed, tormenting the soul body, and it can only be resolved if the whip itself is destroyed," Yama said.
"Ah" Wallace hissed out in pain, as he felt unimaginable pain, and also the demon genie was passing through his body, tormenting him.
"Pak" The second lash landed, then the third, fourth, till the fifteenth one. Wallace curled up on the ground; he was on the verge of breaking down due to the unimaginable burning feeling, coupled with the jolts of electricity passing through his body.
"Beg for release," Yama smiled cruelly and lashed out, but
"Whim" the whip did not hit anything, because Wallace had already disappeared from his former spot.
The eyes of Yama and the lady behind him widened.
"Where's he?"
