Chapter 17 - Arc 2 (Part 10 )Torture (Training)

Sirius Training! | Dead Zone N71, 5 Days After Cronus' Gaze | Training Montage!

Sirius Renovas wasn't doing well in terms of stamina or energy to keep training, and the void was almost catching up to him.

But, with a slap to his own face, he got up abruptly—after all, the day was just beginning—so it was time to keep going.

At first, Sirius' training was relatively simple. In the isolated field, he discovered why the Dead Zone was so useful for training.

As a long-time fan of *Dragon Ball*, he instantly figured out that this place was basically a fancy Hyperbolic Time Chamber.

Time moved differently here, so he could train as much as he wanted.

Since the Dead Zone could basically create anything, he could live there for a week or more with any resource he needed and never have to leave.

Truly… a tax loophole for heroes. Also, a hikikomori's dream.

Renovas' training started gradually, ramping up over time.

But it escalated beyond what should be possible for a normal human. Why? Simple! His trainer was Hirofumi Naobito.

Apparently, his species (like most others) was extremely compatible with human DNA, so he had MANY features in his body that were almost on par with a pure-blooded member of both races.

This meant he could become a mega-powerful super-being due to the human DNA alone, and apparently, he still had extra advantages.

And guess what?

Now that Hirofumi knew his physical potential could be much higher...

He challenged him to be able to do push-ups with a car within a week.

And when Sirius questioned the Japanese man's sanity, he got punched in the mouth.

"What do you think I am? Your sensei?" Hirofumi yelled after that punch.

Unfortunately for Naobito's sadistic plans, he had to start light, so Sirius began by carrying heavy trash bags and clearing piles of debris. It was exhausting manual labor, but he knew he had to start somewhere.

"For some reason, I feel like I'm stealing someone's idea without knowing it..." Hirofumi muttered while watching Renovas. "Nah, that person isn't here anyway."

{N/A: Whoever gets this joke is king.}

{N/CA: I don't get it.}

{N/A: BEGONE, YOU FILTHY, LEPROUS COMMONER!}

{N/CA: I know who the real ones are, you bastard.}

### **Day 1**

The sun's heat weighed on him as he stacked enormous concrete blocks from one pile to another. Each block seemed heavier than the last, yet he didn't stop. Sweat poured, his arms literally bled, but he WAS NOT ALLOWED to rest.

*(Damn Japanese bastard!!!)* Sirius thought.

At the end of the day, his body was exhausted, and Sirius collapsed onto the ground, staring at the sky. But something in the air seemed to revive him, as if the exhaustion wasn't enough to stop him.

"I WANT TO QUIT!" Forget what I just said.

Naobito quickly dropped a tractor tire onto Sirius.

"Carry this as punishment," Naobito commanded.

"AAAAAAAAAAH!" Renovas screamed indignantly, somehow still alive after being crushed.

Merkana only watched the scene, feeling like crying over Sirius' condition, wanting to kick Naobito in the balls for Sirius' condition, and wanting to convince Naobito to let him rest.

Guess what?

She chose all three!

"AAAAAAAAAI!" Naobito screamed after his family jewels were kicked.

He writhed on the ground while Merkana grabbed him by the neck.

"LET HIM REST! IT'S IMPORTANT!" the Mercurian screamed while crying.

"No, it's not," Hirofumi grunted in pain. "If it were, sleeping would yield better results than push-ups."

"..." Merkana paused, raising a finger, her mouth open before closing it again. "5 to 2! You have a point!" She dropped him and returned to her spot.

"Traitor," Sirius muttered in pain.

### **Day 2**

With his hands still bleeding, Sirius began training precise strikes against moving targets that accelerated as he hit them. The impacts reverberated through the field, and each strike carried more power than he thought possible. He stumbled at first, suffering serious cranial trauma that only Merkana's healing prevented from killing him. But soon, he began adapting.

By nightfall, Merkana watched from afar as Sirius ran through an improvised obstacle course, climbing unstable walls and leaping off moving platforms.

It wasn't perfect; he almost always fell, but he gave it his all.

Eventually, he mastered it, collapsing in exhaustion after the final jump.

His spine shattered in multiple pieces.

"KYAAAAAAAA!" he let out a high-pitched scream.

### **Days 3 and 4**

The training ramped up exponentially. Sirius now carried three iron pillars on his shoulders while running across the field. His body showed signs of accelerated strengthening—his biology was truly terrifying.

*(Haaaah… human hybrids are always monsters.)* Merkana thought while watching Sirius easily do something she had to kill herself to achieve. *(... Crap, was that racist?)*

On the fourth night, Sirius, tired and covered in blood, sweat, literal tears, and dust, decided to push himself further. He shoved a larger pile of rubble, moving it with brute force. When he finally succeeded, he fell to his knees but smiled.

*(Being too lazy to not do things feels great!)* Sirius thought.

Yes, it wasn't willpower; it was pure laziness about staying idle :)

From afar, Merkana asked Naobito, "Are you sure this isn't overkill?"

"Trust me, I'm taking it easy on him. If you want to complain, talk to Mattheuz," Hirofumi replied, dodging responsibility.

### **Days 5 and 6**

Training now exceeded all logical limits (Wait, hadn't it already? Humans in this future must drink anabolic steroids instead of breast milk). Sirius spent his days lifting absurd weights, including massive metal drums filled with water and quick-drying cement. At night, he did push-ups while balancing these drums on his back until Hirofumi switched the drums for WATER TANKS filled with LEAD.

"KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!" His spine shattered again.

By Friday, Sirius was jumping steel cable jump ropes and running against artificial winds on a custom track. His movements were more fluid, his strikes sharper, and his strength incomparable to when he started.

Curiously, despite being bloodied, battered, with cracked fists, he smiled.

"More… More… More…" Yep, Sirius developed trauma, but instead of fearing training…

He became a masochist.

---

### **Day 7**

Merkana watched from afar as he did push-ups with a compact car on his back. Sirius no longer seemed like the lazy young man he once was; his muscles were more defined, and his dreadlocks now tied in a mini ponytail (Think of the story's cover but without fully silver hair).

At that moment, he alternated between squats with the car on his shoulders and explosive sprints while pulling 20 motorcycles tied to a rope.

By day's end, Sirius lay on the ground, breathing deeply, staring at the sky once more. Now more than ever, he felt ready for whatever came next.

Merkana approached, offering a water bottle. With a subtle smile, she said, "Good job."

He smiled back, gratefully taking the bottle.

Little did he know, Merkana had other thoughts, blushing as she saw his now much more muscular body.

But more importantly…

She had finally seen him shirtless!

*(Oh my Journeys, if he ever realizes, not even a crane could move him!)* she thought, her cheeks flushed purple—a sign of her blushing—and a smile imagining the future.

*(Is she feverish again?)* Damn, this kid is denser than a rock!

That day ended differently, with Sirius and Merkana chatting alone since Hirofumi was absent for reasons not to be addressed yet.

Sirius had completed his first week of training, but it didn't mean he would stop intense physical training.

He still needed to improve every day.

The only thing that would change moving forward was what would be trained.

His second phase was about to begin.
