EPISODE 13.

(BRIGHT FUTURE ACADEMY)

The following morning at Bright Future High School. Nkechi, Amaka, and Ajoke sat together in the back row of their classroom, discussing their topics quietly and ensuring that no one overheard their conversation.

"Nkechi, it's been two good days," Amaka began. "Two full days, and I believe Shola won't be at school anymore. Why should you worry about her return, rather than focusing on what we have already started?"

"You said the same thing the first time we made our move on Shola, didn't you?" Nkechi replied. "We were also gathered like this that day, waiting for a teacher to announce Shola's death to the class. But instead, she walked into the classroom majestically. If Shola had died after what we did to her recently, the teachers would have hinted to us about why she wouldn't be resuming school anymore."

"Don't worry, Nkechi," Amaka reassured her. "The potion from that baba is very potent. Judging by how Shola collapsed in the cafeteria that day, I believe she must have been buried six feet under. Maybe her family just wants to keep it a secret."

"All right, I hear you guys," Nkechi said. "But now, what's next?" she asked, turning to look at her friends for an answer.

"What do you mean, what's next?" Ajoke replied Nkechi. "It's obviously time for you to make your move and let Samuel know how much you love him," she added.

"I know," Nkechi said, "but I just don't know how to approach Samuel. I don't know how to make him notice me or get his attention."

"Come on, Nkechi," Amaka said. "That's like the simplest thing to do on earth. Why don't you write Samuel a love note? Just take a pen and express your feelings in a letter. You can secretly put it in his locker. Hopefully, he will read it and recognize it's from you if you sign your name on it."

"Seriously, Amaka?" Nkechi exclaimed. "If you don't have any valuable advice for me, just shut up! You're not helping at all."

"What do you mean I'm not helping?" Amaka asked, gesturing in surprise and waiting for a response.

"You're not helping because your tactics are outdated," Nkechi replied. "Who still writes love letters in this day and age?"

"Okay, I have another idea then," Amaka said excitedly. "When you see Samuel during break time today, carry a book and pretend you're not paying attention. Then, 'accidentally' bump into him. You know how it goes in the movies, right? The plan is that when Samuel bumps into you, purposely drop the books and they'll scatter on the floor. Then, you and Samuel will bend down to pick them up at the same time. But make sure your hands touch, and give him a flirtatious look. I believe he will fall for you if you don't overdo it."

"Just be quiet with your advice, Amaka," Nkechi exclaimed in annoyance. "You're not helping me at all with all of this. I'm in a real-life situation here, and you're just narrating a movie plot. No wonder you've never been in a relationship before."

"I was only trying to help now," Amaka felt insulted. "You don't need to upset me because no one ever dated me."

"look here Nkechi, don't mind Amaka silly advice jor," Ajoke joined in the conversation. "I have a tactic for you, one that's much more modern than Amaka's outdated approach."

"What is your own suggestion?" Nkechi asked, urging Ajoke to continue.

"You have to be bold, Nkechi," Ajoke began. "Be bold, because men love confident ladies. You need to approach Samuel directly and tell him how you feel for him."

"What?" Nkechi exclaimed. "That feels like the hardest thing to do in my life. I should approach a man and profess my love to him first?"

"Exactly!" Ajoke replied. "Confidence is key and Men appreciate self-assured women. You have got the looks baby gurl, you got the brains, and the se

"I'm not sure if I can do this," Nkechi Replied, shaking her head sideways. "What if I trip over my words while trying to profess my love? Plus, Samuel is too clean and handsome. I feel lovesick every time I see him, and I get goosebumps all over my body too. I can't help but feel intimidated by his presence. I'm not sure if I can tell him that I love him first."

"No, you don't have to feel intimidated, Nkechi," Amaka encourage her. "Your family and Samuel's family are in the same social class. And Judging by the kind of friends Samuel hangs out with and the lifestyle he leads, those are things you can afford too. So, You don't have to feel intimidated by Samuel's status."

"Yes! Do not be intimidated, Nkechi," Ajoke also supported Amaka's claims. "During the break period, you are going to freshen up in the restroom, then add a little gloss to your lips before walking up to Samuel. I'm sure you will find him on the basketball court. And when you see him, just say, 'Samuel, can I see you for a moment?' I'm sure he will follow you. Once you're both in a quiet corner, you can do that sexy catwalk toward him. You could even grab him by his school uniform collar and pull him closer to you. Then, stare directly into his eyes as you profess your feelings, telling him you would love to be his girlfriend."

"Lol, what an advice," Nkechi said, and started clapping her hands and laughing really hard. "Do you really think this will work?" she asked.

"Absolutely! Why will it not work out?" Ajoke confirmed. "If you commit to this approach and do it just the way I told you, you will win Samuel's heart and make every girl in this school jealous. Just don't forget to give him that kìl-ler smile to melt his heart. After all, Samuel is a man, and all men won't be able to resist someone like you."

"Okay, I will do it then," Nkechi said. "I will talk to him first during the break."

"That's my girl!" Amaka and Ajoke shouted excitedly. "Don't worry; we'll be providing you with emotional support from a distance."

(AT THE HOSPITAL)

Dr. Collins arrived at the hospital that same morning and headed straight to his office. He approached his secret safe locker and took out a glass container filled with the experimental serum. As he was preparing the serum, which he intended to use on Shola, a knock at his office door suddenly interrupted him.

Immediately, Dr. Collins understood that his actions were questionable, and it would be problematic for someone to walk in on him holding the serum. He hastily hid the glass container in his lab coat, picked up a patient file as if he were reviewing it, and called out for the person at the door to come in.

Emmanuel, his intern, stepped inside and found Dr. Collins scanning through a patient file.

"Good morning, Dr. Collins. How are you?" Emmanuel asked.

"Fine, thank you," Dr. Collins replied. "How was your night shift? I hope Shola didn't give you any trouble overnight," he added jokingly.

"The night was not eventful at all," Emmanuel replied. "Everything went smoothly."

"Good," Dr. Collins said. "I'll check on Shola very soon for her morning routine."

(SHOLA'S WARD)

Meanwhile, Shola sat on her bed in the hospital ward, staring at the wall clock. She had been waiting for Dr. Collins, who had promised that after her routine checkup that morning, they would go together to see her mom and plead on her behalf for her wrongdoing.

Shola was longing to reconcile with her mom. She understood it was a difficult situation for her. Given her family background, she assumed her parents might not easily forgive. However, she wanted to try, especially since Dr. Collins was involved. She believed the doctor's reputation would be enough to convince her parents to forgive her.

As Shola sat on the bed, she began to feel uneasy. She hadn't slept all night due to the ghostly disturbances from the other ward, before they moved her to this new one. She had remained alert throughout the night and was relieved not to have seen any strange figures in her new ward. But just as she was about to rest a bit on her bed, the Medical ghostly team from the previous day suddenly reappeared before her. At once, Shola screamed and clutched her pillow tightly, leaning against the wall with her heart racing.

"Get away from me ghosts!" Shola screamed at the them. "Doctor! Nurse! Anyone there?" she called out, hoping someone would hear and save her from the creatures.

Shola reached for the call button Dr. Collins had given her in the new ward, ready to summon help. But the ghosts urged her to calm down, insisting they meant no harm.

"We are only here to warn you, Shola," Doctor Victor's Ghost said. "We saw Dr. Collins with that strange serum in his office again. He will be here soon. You shouldn't let him inject you."

"Why should I believe you?" Shola shouted at the medical ghosts team. "Dr. Collins is a good man. He's going to help me with my situation with my parents."

"He is not a good man," one of the ghosts Replied. "If you want to live, don't let him inject you with that serum."

"What do you mean?" Shola queried. "How am I supposed to believe what you're saying?"

"You should believe because things that are evil are usually done in secret," Doctor Victor ghost explained. "If you want proof of our words, you should find it yourself. Anytime Dr. Collins comes in here to inject you, tell him you want Emmanuel to be present, and I am sure he wouldn't want to agree to that. Because the injection is deadly, and Dr. Collins wouldn't dare administer it in front of someone else. He knows Emmanuel would question him about the kind of injection it is."

Just as Shola's conversation with the ghost was ongoing, the ward room door swung open, and Doctor Collins walked into the room carrying a tray of syringes and injections.

"Good morning, Shola," Doctor Collins said. "Now is the time for your medical routine check-up. But is anyone in the room with you? Because it sounded like I heard you conversing with someone."
