Leina felt a bit sad leaving the school premises. This was a first since it was not for reasons she would usually saddened by.
She felt great having Alexander around since he was the first person aside from her mother who would take an interest in her hobby.
Making her way to the car she noticed a shadow from afar it gave her the chills and her fight or flight instincts kicked in, just as she was about to turn and flee Lester called her.
"Hey baby sis make fast we need to go home quickly", breaking out of her stupor which caused her to look back in the direction she saw the shadow however it seemed like a hallucination. She blinked and walked to her brother and got in the car after nodding.
Lester sensed something amiss with the way his sister was behaving but couldn't dwell on it since they were in a rush. Levy felt irritated since he couldn't enjoy his Friday swim, questioned Lester, "What's the rush dude we going okay"
"Dad and Mom's childhood friend is coming over so obviously it's a big deal"
"No, it's not you just paranoid"
"When are they coming?"
"Tomorrow, so you better keep everything on the down low"
If there was one flaw that their perfectionist eldest brother had it was being unprepared. When he was stressed it would be akin to a panic attack which felt like the case most of the time plus it was worrisome.
They all sat in silence till they reached home and walked to greet their mother waiting to hear from her of what Lester said was true.
"Hello everyone I hope you had a great day at school, I'm sure your brother has already told you that your father and I have important guests coming over so no loose chameleon or dog or snake okay."
"Yes mom" they said in unison while making their way to their rooms to freshen up for lunch.
In the confines of her bedroom Leina felt a wave of sadness yet again she did not think that just after spending a week with Alexander that she would grow attached to him.
She sat there thinking about a conversation they had earlier.
..
(Flashblack)
'... and that is what inspired him to start his collection'
They met everyday at the same reading booth and Leina felt like bad for thinking he was a tad bit annoying.
Feeling as though they had been close these past few day Leina invited him over but he politely declined saying he would be more than delighted to carry on the following week.
(End of flashback)
..
Leina who has had no friends and barely spent time with her brother's could not help but feel upset that she could not see her friend daily.
She decided to put all that behind her and procede to have lunch with her family and pray the weekend ended fast.
The next day arrived and the mansion was abuzz, all the maids were busy and the kitchen was on fire, not literally.
Giselle wanted everything to be perfect since it was the first time in years that Michelle returned to Lemoore.
It would also be the first time the kids met properly. She knew that Alexander was Reginalds child but she doubted he knew her as his dad's childhood friend.
'This is going to be exciting' she thought as she checked all the dishes she prepared once again and left to freshen up and check on her kids.
If there was one thing she knew all too well it would that in terms of punctuality her eldest took after her but the rest were grouchy in this case.
'Except for my princess she seems to be getting into the habit of being more punctual' she thought as she made a stop at Leina's room first to brush her hair.
After knocking and entering Giselle just stood and gaped in awe of her daughters beauty, Leina took after her mother in many cases like her long black wavy hair and diamond shaped face as well as her button nose.
To Giselle though her daughter looked like a little bunny, her little bunny.
"So my sweet I see you opting for your hair to be open"
"Of course mommy I want your friends to be struck by my beauty that you gave me"
"Oh you're too sweet" she said as she scooped Leina into a hug.
"Okay enough of that let us get done"
And just like that the Reinhardt's were already ready waiting for their guests.
"Oh they're here" said Giselle after confirming with James.
The family was seated in their living room near the entrance, looking at the entrance and slowly entered Reginald and his family behind him.
Leina had a polite smile plastered to her face but the moment she saw who came after her parents friend she beamed and unconsciously made her way to greet the Smiths.
And that small action of her not only took her family by surprise but the Smiths too.
