The world of Naruto was originally a Normal planet. If it had followed a normal developmental path, it might have achieved a balance of local supernatural abilities and technological advancements. However, the arrival of the extraterrestrial Ōtsutsuki clan drastically altered its trajectory.
Chakra.
Kaguya Ōtsutsuki planted the Divine Tree on this planet. After betraying her companion, Isshiki Ōtsutsuki, she sacrificed him to the tree and consumed the Chakra Fruit herself. Following this, she bore two children but clashed with her sons, Hagoromo and Hamura Ōtsutsuki, over ideological differences, eventually leading to her being sealed away.
Chakra was later spread among the people by Hagoromo. With the development of ninjutsu by his son, Indra, the ninja class gradually rose to prominence, growing stronger over time.
"The images I just saw seem to be from a battlefield, but I can't pinpoint the exact time period. If it's during the Fourth Great Ninja War, it's better to wait a while before going. However, the Fourth War unified the headbands of all the villages, whereas the images showed both Konoha and Iwa headbands, with ninjas fighting each other. That rules out the Fourth War," Kahn mused.
The other three Ninja Wars were less catastrophic in comparison. The Fourth Great Ninja War was a battle of apocalyptic proportions. If one didn't escape in time, they might even end up trapped in the Infinite Tsukuyomi.
"Since it's still wartime, I can adjust my plan for supplies. Medical supplies will now take up a larger portion—just leave the instructions intact."
Kahn had previously attended private soirées with his father, where he made several connections. Among these contacts were pharmaceutical executives from whom he could directly order a batch of medical supplies. (TL/N: Soirées is a French name for evening parties)
The list was long: antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medications, fever reducers, painkillers, vitamins, various first-aid treatments, and medical equipment.
Kahn could transport plenty of supplies into the Naruto world, but the question remained—what could he gain in return?
The currency of the ninja world was an immediate pass—its value outside that world wouldn't even rival toilet paper. Gold was a straightforward option, but it seemed scarce in the ninja world. The only notable example was the Fourth Kazekage of Sunagakure, who could manipulate gold. Kahn wasn't running a jewelry store or a mining company, so rare metals were a last resort.
"Risking my life just to bring back gold? I might as well stay here and trade on Wall Street," Kahn thought.
He sought something more extraordinary, access to the extraordinary abilities of that world. The most mystical energy there was chakra—a unique resource exclusive to that world. The people of Naruto possessed bodies naturally suited for chakra, their body significantly more advanced than Kahn's own.
Even if he managed to extract chakra for himself, the amount would likely be minimal.
"I need a solution… Orochimaru? Or perhaps Tsunade?" Kahn jotted down some ideas, only to crumple the paper moments later.
Speculation was meaningless when he couldn't even confirm the specific time period in the ninja world. Concrete plans would have to wait. What he could rely on, however, was the famed Hashirama Cells, which might hold the key to gaining extraordinary powers.
Kahn refocused on the present, ensuring his preparations were thorough—medical supplies, clothing, and more.
"Thankfully, I speak Japanese. Thanks, FBI!" he muttered.
"Carl, how's the warehouse and supplier situation?" Kahn asked over the phone.
On the other end, Carl groggily opened his eyes, glancing at the clock. Realizing the time, he yelled into the phone, "Kahn, do you have any idea what time it is? The U.S. Constitution protects my sacred right to uninterrupted sleep!"
"It's noon, Carl. Did you stay up all night again? I should tell your dad," Kahn teased.
Fully awake now, Carl quickly changed his tone. "Just kidding, Kahn! The warehouse and suppliers are ready. I can take you to check out the warehouse this afternoon."
"Great. I'll pick you up in thirty minutes."
Hanging up, Kahn went to his father's old study to locate an old phonebook. Recalling a pharmaceutical company manager's name and number, he made the call.
"Jess? This is Kahn Pent. I'd like to discuss a business opportunity."
Jess, a department manager at a pharmaceutical company, was accustomed to sales calls. However, Kahn was a major shareholder in a private New York hospital, making him a valuable connection. Kahn's request was substantial—around $50,000 worth of medical supplies and equipment.
In the early 21st century, a single transaction of this size was no small matter. Jess was quick to show respect to Kahn, a prominent client.
After securing the medical deal, Kahn met up with Carl to inspect the warehouse. Its security and size were sufficient as an initial staging area. The location was secluded, ensuring discretion.
With the warehouse secured, Kahn began outlining his next steps, including stocking up on additional supplies like food, which could also be critical during the Second or Third Ninja Wars.
Kahn's long-term goal was not just to trade but to establish a foothold in the ninja world—perhaps even build his own organization. While figures like Gato had managed to dominate with hired mercenaries, Kahn intended to avoid Gato's fatal mistakes.
Firearms and ammunition would be critical. Against wandering ninjas or bandits, they would provide a significant edge. Properly trained firearm squads could potentially kill even mid-level ninjas who lacked defensive techniques.
Kahn took a leave of absence from school, using the time to plan and gather resources. To fund his preparations, he entrusted Carl with another sum of money to invest in the stock market, which was experiencing volatility due to the ongoing war in the Middle East.
After a full day of discussing investment strategies with Carl, Kahn returned home. It was time to finalize his preparations for his journey to the Naruto Universe.
