Chapter 1 - Scarlet Requiem

Isabella's Point of View

I love all forms of art, paintings, drawings, even sculptures. Yet my fascination for masterpieces like the Monalisa pales beside my obsession with blood.

The crimson streams brought me joy. Each droplet soothes my eyes whenever my victims writhe in pain. Each whine and plea became a haunting melody, fueling my thrill.

My ex-husbands met a gruesome fate, tearing off their limbs one by one and watching it as it burned crisp till it turned to ashes.

I was a bloodthirsty woman, I collected my victims blood in jars and placed it on a shelf like a prized trophy.

I wasn't always like that though, it all started on that rainy night, the weight of betrayal crushing the life I'd built.

That night a sensation arose within me - like a wildfire. It burned relentlessly and every kill served as a fuel to stop it from extinguishing.

I had just finished work, feeling weary; all I wanted was to get home to a sweet home cooked meal and a great night with my first husband Lucas.

I got in my car and drove like a maniac on the road, humming the song I enjoyed listening to. After what seemed like an endless drive the tires finally screeched to a stop in front of my favorite place, my house.

I leapt out of the car hurriedly, I could hear my stomach rumbling in my ears. I parked my car and moved swiftly towards the door, the water dripping down my clothes and the thunder rumbling making the lightning strikes extremely beautiful.

I stood at the door turning the knob as I entered, everywhere was dark. I walked to the switch and turned on the light but there was no one there, "Where is Lucas?" I thought it was unusual of him to not be in the sitting room watching TV waiting for me.

I walked up the stairs the creaking sound echoing beneath my feet "maybe he's tired and was sleeping." I thought, as I unlocked the door.

My jaw dropped, my fists clenched as I shouted his name "LUCAS!!" screaming at the top of my lungs as my feet stayed rooted to that spot.

Mary jumped up from Lucas, running off naked as Lucas stood up to face me. Subtle tears streamed down my cheeks as my husband stood shamelessly in front of me looking me dead in the eyes. "

You're cheating on me - with my maid?" I screamed, walking towards him with barely restrained fury. But as soon as I got near him the thunderous slap that landed on my cheeks had the same intensity as the thunder strike that roared outside.

"You slapped me Lucas." I whispered shakily, my tears pouring onto my lips. The salty sour taste leaves the taste of despair in my tongue.

"I would do it again if you try to act stupid." Lucas said, his eyes growing maliciously.

"What have I done to deserve your betrayal? I gave you my heart, my love, my body, my money!! What else do I have to do to please you? " I screamed tears pouring down my cheeks as I voiced out everything that was in my lungs.

"I never loved you, Isabella; you were just a means to an end, a pawn to gain money and the power I craved." Lucas muttered, smirking.

Lucas walked away from me, went to his wardrobe and picked up some clothes, slipped into them and started packing up his bags. Lucas was leaving, while I fell on my ass trying to digest everything he just poured on me.

I stared at Lucas walking through the door frame when the adrenaline surge flowed through my body. I stood up, walked after him as he strode down the stairs, the creaking sound echoing beneath his feet as he dragged his box along.

I dragged my feet step by step like a monster feeding off his chakra, but once I got downstairs I turned and walked into the kitchen, my eyes set on the knife set.

I picked up the largest knife, and walked back towards Lucas who was walking through the door. "Lucas!" I called out one last time, and he turned to look at me, with that same smirk on his face as he approached.

"I can't forgive him." I thought, placing my hands behind my back as I walked towards him, and once I got close enough, I plunged the knife straight into his heart.

Blood splurging through his skin, the knife covered with blood and his white shirt turned red. I watched mesmerized as life seeped from his eyes.

Everything made me feel so alive and I started to laugh maniacally.

"Now who's helpless?" I whispered, my laughter echoing through the silence.

I stood there, watching him take his last breath; every shudder and every gasp he made I watched it all with my eyes wide open.

That was the first time I killed someone and two years later I stare at the shelf where I document them and everything about them and another chapter was added, my seventeenth kill.

My muscles ache in protest as I moved away from the shelf after dropping the jar on the shelf, my smile faltered and I needed rest, before I embarked on another killing streak. I wondered, "What will my next victim look like?"

Puerto Rico was everything to me, maybe I just need to try somewhere else a new environment. "Vegas." I thought. "The city of light and endless possibilities. The fountain of Bellagio and the strips, last but not the least, the handsome men." I whispered, heaving a sigh of relief.

It's time for me to hunt a new prey in a new city, it's going to be fun.

I picked up my phone and scrolled through a website to book a flight to Vegas in the next three days.

I collapsed into the chair and looked up at t

he ceiling with a smile. This was going to be an exciting ride.Â
