Blue was having a mental breakdown. 'How to be a Perfect Omega' was Blue's debut novel, but not his first ever novel.
Less than a handful of people knew this, but Blue used to be a web novel writer. He had written two other cheesy romance books before.
The first one, The Forbidden Love of Rosé, was about an Omega Princess and a Beta Bodyguard set in historical times. The second one, Wildlife, was Blue's biggest embarrassment. It was an Omega x Alpha story.
In which the Omega was the top and the Alpha was the bottom. The novel had been almost two hundred thousand words long, with smut taking over half of the book.
Anytime Blue was having a bad day, he would punish the Alpha character of his book, forcing them to go hours and hours of getting drilled with no breaks.
The book had been fairly popular since most of his readers back then were thirsty. However, it had been years and he had abandoned his writing account on the platform.
There were also no traces pointing him out as the author to the two books. So how come this third-gen heir knew about his secret shames!?
"At that time, Wildlife was my lifeline. I waited for an update every day and would drop a comment at the end of every chapter. But you never responded." Winter spoke up with a pitiful tone. Of course, he was lying.
However, his words sent chills down Blue's spine. Blue could remember that there were actually at least five to ten different readers of Wildlife back then who were always desperate to get his attention.
They would leave comments behind at the end of every chapter and send him lofty gifts. Did that mean Winter was one of those desperate readers!?
Seeing the gears turning in Blue's head, Winter almost broke into a fit of laughter. He had taken his time to do a good check on Blue's background.
He had also found out about the nonsense web novels that Blue had written in the past. He read the first ten chapters of the two novels, five middle chapters, and the last ten chapters.
Winter had an overall view of what the web novels were about. They were nonsense, point blank. Winter had felt a little bit ashamed of Blue when he read the poorly written novels with sloppy sex scenes, bad grammar, and millions of plot holes.
But at the end of every chapter, Blue would leave an author's comment, saying, 'Hi, everyone. Please don't forget to like and drop a comment if you enjoyed this chapter. Doing so motivates me to write more.'
Winter imagined a younger version of Blue typing those words on his phone with red tinted cheeks. It was so funny. How could he not use such information to tease Blue?
"So what now? Do you plan on using this information against me or something?" Blue asked with a haughty tone, regaining his composure as he looked at Winter.
Then he picked up his coffee and took a sip of it. Winter shook his head negatively.
"Of course, not. I would never do such a thing. I just wanted to talk to my long-time idol because I am your biggest fan." Winter said with a dazzling smile on his lips.
Blue found it difficult to believe that the words, 'I am your biggest fan', were coming out from the mouth of an Alpha. An Alpha, of all beings!
Blue had tried, but he couldn't find the lie in Winter's eyes. Blue wanted to believe that Winter was lying to him and that he was playing a prank on him for his own twisted benefit.
But Blue couldn't sense him lying. And there could only be two reasons for that. Either Winter was telling the truth or he was an extremely good liar. Blue chose to believe the second option.
"So, the thing is that, I want to get your autograph." Winter said with a gentle tone, then he pulled out his phone and a black highlighter from his pocket.
"Please, sign the case of my phone. I want to be able to wake up every morning and see a trace of you." Winter said. Then immediately wanted to take his words back.
Wake up every morning and see a trace of you? Those words were too weird and perverted. He hoped Blue would look over them. But he still had to explain that what he meant wasn't something perverse.
Winter opened his mouth to speak but Blue's voice sounded before his own.
"Say I sign this, you'll have to agree that you won't appear in front of me ever again, okay?" Blue said, picking up the highlighter that was on the table.
Winter almost spluttered as he heard those words. What nonsense!? Who would agree to such a thing?!
'My plan is to sleep with you! Not get your autograph and leave you alone!' Winter raged internally.
Outwardly, Winter smiled helplessly and said weakly, "How can I do that? You are my idol. Getting an autograph won't be enough. You have to understand the pains of this fan of yours."
Blue didn't like the sound of those words. Lately, this Alpha in front of him has been appearing everywhere. It was very strange. Blue didn't want to see his face anymore.
"Heh? Really? Or are you just saying that so you can continue to stalk me?" Blue sneered.
Winter's expression contorted into one of deep hurt as he said, "Stalk you? I would never do such a thing. Do you think I am such a person?"
Winter glared at Blue internally. How come Blue was always aware of his actions!? Was it now a crime to lust after him!?
"I don't know you. All I know is that you're an Alpha. That information is enough to make me want to put up a ten feet pole between the two of us." Blue said with a monotonous voice.
"But since you're insistent on being my fan…" Blue trailed off as he reached for Winter's phone on the table. Then he took off the casing and signed the inside of it. Afterwards, he fixed the case back to the phone.
"You have my autograph now. Be content with it and stay away from me. Or else you would be the next Alpha who gets me sent to a jail cell for assault." Blue stood up from his seat after saying those words and slapped money on the table.
Before Winter could stop him or even react, Blue had already vanished from the café.
Winter exhaled deeply through his mouth at his small failure. He was getting annoyed with Blue's personality. Why was Blue so hard for him to crack?
Just then, a waitress arrived at the table. It was the same person who had taken Winter's and Blue's orders. At the time, Winter had not had a good look on her face.
But looking at her right now…
The waitress seemed to have come over to his table with her thoughts in alignment with Winter's.
"This is the payment for his own coffee, right?" The waitress asked, looking at the money that Blue had slapped on the table.
Winter nodded politely. The waitress picked it up and shoved it inside her pocket. Then she removed a small paper from her other pocket and handed it over to Winter.
"Since things didn't work out with him. You can try other options." The waitress said this and added a wink before she walked away without hearing what Winter had to say.
Winter looked at the small paper and saw that it contained her name and number. He put the paper into his jacket with the intent to throw it away when he got home.
He liked beautiful people. But not the kind who liked him back at first glance. And especially not the ones who were eager to get with him.
He only liked the hard ones. Just then, Winter picked up his phone. Then he removed the case to look at the autograph that Blue had signed for him.
A genuine laughter escaped from Winter's mouth as he looked at the autograph.
Blue had signed, 'Alphas suck', on the inside of his phone case. Winter couldn't help but be amused by it.
'It seems like I'll have to continue using this case for a long time before getting a new one.' Winter thought.
Winter admired Blue's penmanship as he continued to stare at his phone case. The letters were distinct and beautiful when put together. Winter suddenly got the urge to see more of Blue's writing.
But for now, as Blue told him, Winter would just have to be content with this simple autograph.
Winter fixed the case back to his phone, took a sip of his latte, paid for it, and left Dot's Café. He had to return back to Chestfield to pick up his car.
It was a good thing that he didn't have any other class for the day. It meant that he could spend time finding more information on Blue and fantasizing about him.
What a good way to spend his day.
