Chapter 3 -  The Gala

Jack arrived at the charity gala, his tuxedo perfectly tailored to his lean physique. He flashed a charming smile at the paparazzi as he stepped out of his car.

The mansion was ablaze with lights, the sound of laughter and music drifting through the air. Jack's eyes scanned the crowd, his gaze lingering on the security personnel stationed at the entrance.

He made his way through the throng of guests, his eyes locked on the bar. He ordered a whiskey on the rocks and took a sip, his gaze sweeping the room.

That was when he saw her - a stunning woman with piercing green eyes and raven-black hair. She was laughing at something the man next to her had said, her smile dazzling.

Jack's eyes narrowed as he took in the man's tailored suit and arrogant smile. He looked like the type of guy who thought he owned the place.

As Jack watched, the woman excused herself and made her way to the powder room. Jack's eyes followed her, his mind racing with possibilities.

He took another sip of his whiskey, his eyes scanning the room for any signs of trouble. That was when he spotted Martinez - a tall, imposing figure with a ruthless glint in his eye.

Martinez was surrounded by a phalanx of bodyguards, their eyes scanning the crowd with a mixture of curiosity and hostility. Jack's gut told him that this was going to be a tough job.

He took another sip of his whiskey, his eyes locked on Martinez. He was waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

As he waited, Jack's mind flashed back to the briefing he had received from Rachel. Martinez was a ruthless businessman with a reputation for stopping at nothing to get what he wanted.

But Jack was not intimidated. He had taken down tougher targets before, and he was confident that he could do it again.

He took another sip of his whiskey, his eyes locked on Martinez. He was waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

The woman with the piercing green eyes emerged from the powder room, her smile dazzling as she made her way back to the man in the tailored suit.

Jack's eyes followed her, his mind racing with possibilities. Who was she, and what was her connection to Martinez?

As he watched, the woman's eyes met his, and she smiled. Jack felt a jolt of electricity run through his body, and he knew that he was in trouble.

He took another sip of his whiskey, his eyes locked on the woman. He was not sure what her game was, but he was determined to find out.

The music changed, and the crowd began to shift. Jack's eyes locked on Martinez, and he knew that it was time to make his move.
