Chereads / Teenager's Magical Fantasy / Chapter 56 - Lost

Chapter 56 - Lost

Jared was sitting on a rock, looking up at the blue sky, his body no longer existed. Due to the distortion of the light, all of the light had left his body, and Jared's true self had completely disappeared. But that was all, although a normal person like Tawana would panic and have a nervous breakdown due to the loss of his ego. But for Jared, he had a different kind of fun. What started out as an invisibility to overcome his fear, ended up being a way of enjoying his fear and experiencing a new sense of life. The sensation of looking at the world after losing one's own existence became more and more strange, and Jared had done this to many people as an experiment. But almost all of them would first check whether they existed or not, and then they would feel uneasy. But if you give up your ego and simply look at the world with your eyes, you'll naturally see more than you could ever realize as a human being.

I'm not here to observe the world.

Jared snapped back, there was always a time for this sort of thing, but not now.

The lavishly decorated carriage was slowly making its way down the road, and ever since Jared had followed them, he had noticed that something was wrong with the route. Although it appeared to be going to Kelly's house, it was in fact going in a different direction, even all the way out of town. The wagon wasn't going too fast, and with Jared's speed, he could barely keep track of it. But the wagon was slowing down, so after looking around, he overtook it and waited for them.

At the sound of hoofbeats, Jared withdrew his gaze.

  Here we go.

He stood up, then extended his right hand and aimed it at the pavement in front of him.

In an instant, the road in front of us disappeared into a boundless grassland and forest, as if this was a dead end road, completely out of bounds.

Sure enough, the carriage stopped, and it was obvious that the man who drove it was puzzled by the suddenness of the situation, which was not surprising, as anyone who encountered such a strange situation would have been apprehensive.

Then, hiding his breath, Jared slowly approached the wagon. Although he could hide his form, he couldn't hide the sound he made. That's why stealth is useful in everyday life, but rarely used in combat. Unless it's a covert operation for the purpose of assassination, the use of stealth in a head-on battle would be detected by any warrior who has reached the realm of mastery, so for Jared, relying on the ability to be completely invisible is a very dangerous behavior.

While maximizing the advantages, the disadvantages will also be maximized.

There's no way Jared doesn't understand that.

The man's face was grave, while his right hand was pressed on the hilt of the sword at his waist.

  Where's Kelly?

Before Jared could think about it, the ornate, heavy carriage suddenly cracked in a flash, and a figure flew out of the gaping hole and fell to the ground with a heavy thud. Kelly was lying there on the grass, gasping for breath. Her shoulder was bleeding, obviously badly injured. She tried desperately to get up and run away, but it looked like she'd reached the end of her rope.

"Ms. Kelly, please don't run away."

The elf stepped out of the compartment, a light green protective film surrounding her, which was apparently what kept her safe from Kylie's attack. Her expression was calm and serene, but her eyes held an unending sadness.

"You guys ... why are you trying to kill me?!"

Kelly inquired helplessly, unable to believe that the one person she'd always thought would never betray her was actually going to do it to her.

"Haven't we grown up together as partners? Yufeng? Have you forgotten that your father adopted you and took care of you? Don't you ..."

"Ms. Kelly, we have never forgotten the Lord's kindness."

  The grim-faced man spoke.

"But we have our own ideals, our own lives. We've followed your father for so long that we've grown tired of playing house. Besides, we've found new people to serve, and we have to make some considerations for our future."

"So you're going to betray me and my father?"

Kylie's brow was furrowed in irrepressible anger mixed with a hint of sadness. But she wasn't completely devastated by the shock, not even when her best friend from childhood suddenly turned into a murderer who wanted her dead. She looked around her cautiously as she searched for a way out. Although she felt strange when they brought her out, the moment before the elf pulled out his dagger and stabbed her, Kelly didn't think that the two people she grew up with would kill her so easily.

"I hope you won't resist, Miss Kelly, so that we can make your death as painless as possible. If it's very painful for you, it's on our conscience."

"Hmph, at this time, say so many good sound what is the use ... cough!!!"

Kelly suddenly began coughing violently, while the elf stood cautiously a few paces away from her, reaching behind her back and pulling out his bow and arrows.

"Miss Kelly, you should know very well, just now forced instant chanting although barely saved your life, but the damage suffered ... you as a magician, you should know this better than us. You can't use chanting magic anymore, can you? Ms. Kelly, for the sake of we once grew up together, I hope you do not struggle anymore, soon, we will send you to the world without the slightest pain."

  "If father-sama knew, you wouldn't ..."

"He's not going to know, Ms. Kelly."

The man shook his head, perhaps realizing that he had said too much, he raised his hand to indicate that he would not speak any more, and then he drew the long sword from his waist, judging from the slightly reddish blade, it was also a magical weapon. Kylie looked at the sword with a complex expression, she still remembered clearly, this is in order to commemorate the man in front of her adult, she personally gave each other the sword of flame. At that time, Kylie even jokingly hoped that he could become his guardian in the future, and use this sword to protect himself. But she never imagined that things would one day come to this.

  "I still don't understand ..."

She shook her head slightly .

"Isn't following your father the best thing for you? Why ..."

  "..."

"Never mind, I don't think you're going to answer my questions."

Kylie looked up, no hesitation or doubt in her eyes as she gazed at the two men about to take her life, her fingers twitching slightly as she tried to continue casting her magic, but the pain impeding her nerves was completely preventing her from making the skillful and quick weave of magic that she normally did.

"I say, looking for a place to kill also need to look at the time ah, now is the daytime ..."

  Jared's voice suddenly appeared.

The man's reflexes were quick, and almost as soon as Jared opened his mouth his sword burst into flames and swung to his side. But the blackened serpent pierced the man's throat far more quickly than he could. The haste with which he reacted to a surprise attack was no match for a well-prepared surprise attack. Jared drew his sword back and stood in front of Kylie, watching the elf with a teasing smile.

  "Yo, we meet again."

  "I can't believe you killed him ..."

The elf didn't look at the completely dead man, but her angry eyes betrayed everything.

"You actually killed ... the most important person in the world to me ..."

"What your relationship is with this man, whether you're in love or have a bond beyond life and death, whether you have some compelling reason to be here, none of that matters to me."

Jared's got a cold look on his face as he lifts the sky.

"Since you want to kill this woman now, I can't just ignore it ... Maybe I can do a good deed and send you to him to be paired up? What do you think?"

  "Go to hell!!!"

The elf shouted angrily, then her right hand flipped over, a dark red arrow appeared on her already fully drawn bow, then in the next instant, the arrow had already arrived in front of Jared.

  "Boom!!!"

Two flames and loud explosions appeared on both sides behind Jared, the original green grassland was engulfed in flames, the explosive arrows did what they were supposed to do, but missed the target completely.

  "How is this possible?!!!"

Even if she couldn't believe it, the elf's eyes widened in surprise at what was clearly happening. Jared actually split her arrow in two! What on earth did he use ...

The elf subconsciously reacted, she reflexively looked at Jared's hand. But she realized that Jared's hand was empty, and he was making a gesture of readiness to meet ...

The cold blade slashed into the elf's shoulder from behind without a sound, and the counterforce of the spinning centrifugal force caused the azure air to penetrate deeply, severing the elf's bones, muscles, and heart without a hitch. Then it returned to Jared's hand. Life passed in an instant, and the last thing the elf could do was to look towards Kylie with deep regret, and then fell to the grass with a smile on his face, letting the blood and life leave his body mercilessly.

Maybe this man is right, at least he can be happy in that world.

  Jared withdrew his blade.

  "Still alive? Missy."

  "... Well, thank you."

  "You're welcome."

Jared said, leaning against a nearby rock, waiting for the silent Kelly to do something. He had heard every word of the conversation, and it was obvious that Kylie was familiar with these two men. Otherwise she wouldn't have followed them in the carriage, after all, this lady's character is arrogant, but not reckless. She didn't expect things to turn out this way, but now, it's irreversible.

But Jared could see that Kylie had a stronger character than the weak Tawana. Tawana would have begged for her life.

But Kelly didn't say anything, just looked at the two bodies in silence.

"Do you need me to bandage you up?"

Jared asked helplessly, while looking over at the wound on Kelly's shoulder.

"Caroline's not here, so I can only do a simple bandage, but it's better than nothing."

Kelly stood up, her expression indifferent.

  "You saved me again."

Her eyes were empty, as if she were dead.

  "Can I trust you?"

  Then, Kelly asked.
