Chapter 32 - The Castle of the Undead

  (Jared.)

Caroline quietly walked over to Jared and watched him. Not far away, Tawana and Kylie were harmonizing their voices to achieve the perfect magical effect. According to them, chanting magic could be enhanced by chanting with another person. But it was necessary for the two of them to be in perfect synchronization, with no single gesture, movement or syllable out of place. But that didn't matter to Jared, they wouldn't understand anyway.

  "Yes? Caroline?"

(What should we do if we can't find any food in the castle? Besides, don't you think it's unusual for these monsters to gather here in large numbers?)

"Perverse is perverse, but it's the only way to go if you don't want to starve to death. If it comes to that ..."

Jared pondered for a moment, glancing out of the corner of his eye at the two girls making their final preparations. He looked at Caroline with a serious expression.

"You'll be using 'that' won't you, after all no one wants to starve to death. I think you're sensing that the castle would be a very appropriate location for you."

  (I see.)

  "Remember ... thirty seconds..."

Jared turned away after making an inexplicable remark, and Caroline nodded as if she'd understood the meaning of what he'd said.

  "We are ready."

Perhaps because she had been wronged earlier, Kylie's tone was no longer so domineering. In front of Jared, she still had a certain amount of self-respect and pride. But when it came to Caroline and Tawana, she no longer had that haughty attitude. After all, the fact that she had taken someone's life-sustaining rations in a manner most unbecoming of the Vitto family was not something to be proud of, and it even made her feel ashamed.

Although the young lady's behavior is a bit off the wall, she doesn't seem so unreasonable.

Jared didn't say anything more, but summoned the Green Sky Twin Blades with his backhand, he stood on the hillside, looking at the army of the dead not far in front of him. Those guys didn't seem to have any sense of autonomy. But he had to admit, seeing so many skeletons that could move in front of him wasn't a fun thing to see. Thinking of this, Jared took a deep breath, and then he raised his weapon in his hand while waiting for the signal from behind.

Tawana and Kylie began the chanting of magic.

Odd notes and words came out of their mouths as if they were reciting an ancient poem.

Even with the "thought communication", Caroline couldn't understand the details of what they were chanting, but just from the sound of it, it sounded like a light and airy mantra, as if they were running through the earth. Tawana's voice was a little lower, as if it had become a breeze in the forest. Kylie's voice soared and danced like a roaring wind. The two voices intertwined as if they were dancing with each other, and then they came together in a perfect combination.

The wind began to chirp, and Caroline felt a light breeze blowing through her body, and for a moment she even felt the air flowing around her as if it had become a river, pushing her forward with ease and strength. She tried to walk a few steps, and was surprised to find that not only was she moving much faster than normal. Tawana and Kelly even floated slightly. In front of them, the wind acted as a shield, ready to defend them from any attack. With both speed and defense, the magic seemed to work quite well.

  Jared's on the move.

Though it was difficult to ask those skeleton swordsmen who could only react to Jared's almost inexplicable speed after three seconds even if they threw a stone, when they fell to the ground in pieces like harvested wheat, they gave a strange impression. But as they fell to the ground like harvested wheat, it was a strange illusion, the black sword light darting from side to side, smashing every object it could reach. The bone dogs were running fast, their mouths full of sharp teeth seemed to tear everything in front of them into pieces. Growling frantically, they chased after Jared's figure - not sure how they could make a sound with no vocal cords or tongue.

A bone dog with nothing but bones appeared in front of Jared by mistake, and opened its bloody mouth to bite into Jared's leg. The hard teeth reflected the cold sunlight, if it was bitten, the whole knee would be crushed. At that moment, Jared's sword blade was arcing through the air, forcing back the skeleton warriors who had finally begun to draw closer to him with their weapons, making it impossible for him to take into account the surprise attack from below.

It was supposed to be like this.

The black ray of light cut through the air, made a dazzling turn, as if a straight line originally sliding along the upper right without even needing a buffer zigzagged downward, made an impossible trajectory and then nailed the head of the bone dog that tried to sneak up on him. Jared did not care about it, he turned his hand over and swept the remnants of the bone dog into the pile of skeletons along with Aozora, anyway, judging from the situation, it was considered a dead body.

According to Kylie, these low-level undead have no fear, and don't even have the sense to protect themselves, so it's a bit tricky.

Jared's right hand deftly twirled the twin blades as if they were part of his own body, his palm slightly deflecting as his figure spread backward. Then Jared leisurely dodged the attack of the skeleton soldier at his back, while his fingers traced over the part of the sword intentionally or unintentionally. Immediately, on the pitch-black sword, golden rune arrays began to emerge, crazily sucking and plundering the ability, just like a beast in prison, ready to completely crush everything in front of him.

  "Holy Sword, Cyclone Mode."

With Jared's command, the originally hard and straight sword in his hand suddenly began to distort as if it were a soft noodle, but even so, under Jared's maneuvering, the skeletons that were trying to surround him were still blown to pieces. Obviously, no matter what kind of illusion it looks like, it's just an illusion after all. At this moment, the change has been completed in the green sky has formed a twisted semi-circle, golden rune array in the top of the flickering light and dark, and at this moment, Jared stopped in his footsteps, and casually will have been assembled in the green sky like throwing a Frisbee general cast out.

The roaring sound and the whirlwind made the whole square flying and shaking, the sharp and powerful gas mercilessly destroys everything, turning into a hurricane to roll those poor people up into the sky, or completely shattered before being rolled up.

The wind and clouds are changing.

A thin column appeared like a pivot point connecting the sky and the earth, and the holy sword constructed as a disc rotated rapidly with Jared at the center, and the powerful airflow was brought up and turned into a yellow dragon that directly attacked everything.

  "... What is this? Magic?"

Even from a distance, Kylie was horrified to feel the power of the artificially created nature's might. In front of the raging tornado, there were no monsters that could come near them, but such a big commotion also attracted the attention of those weird guys in the depths. Soon, the three of them all watched as two monsters that looked as if they were as tall as elephants roared forward and slammed into the wall of the tornado, the force of which even made the gray wind pillar that pierced through the sky and the ground sway slightly.

"Isn't that a hellish bone statue?! Why is it here?"

The fact that something you've only seen in an illustrated book was actually appearing in front of you gave both Kelly and Tawana a feeling of uncertainty, as if they were dreaming.

  (Now, come with me)

Caroline flicked her sword in her hand, and immediately dashed down the hill. Tawana and Kylie followed. They passed through the open area that was no longer a threat, and even if some of them tried to take advantage of the opportunity to attack, they would be swept by Caroline's seemingly ubiquitous rune sword, and then crushed in mid-air with a wail, and when they fell to the ground, they had already been turned back into unconscious white bones.

Kylie followed closely behind Caroline with an agility she would never normally have been able to achieve, she looked up at the castle that had already been reduced to rubble, and a trace of uneasiness couldn't help but arise deep inside her heart. Tawana, on the other hand, was unable to speak at all, whether it was magic or physical attainments she was far below the two, and being able to keep up with them was already quite an effort for little Tawana.

Suddenly, Caroline stopped in her tracks, and at the same time, the silver snakes suddenly danced wildly, frantically covering their heads like a protective net made of steel. At this moment, everyone heard the crisp, as if the water droplets collision and left the sound of the blow. When everything quieted down, they were surprised to find that the surrounding area was filled with bone spears thrusting straight into the ground. At this moment, in the center of the originally dark castle, the condensed darkness began to twist and change. Two fiery red dots appeared, and then transformed into faint human figures. And Kelly just swept a glance around the pale bone spears, immediately turned ashen.

"Actually able to cast Bone Spear instantly ... Could it be ..."

  "A necromancer?!"

  (paging ...)

Unlike Tawana's cries of despair mixed with terror, after feeling something with her eyes slightly closed, Caroline let out a relaxed breath.

Jared's plan seems to be the right one.
