Chapter 14 - Shadow Cloak

'How did you find out I'm a Novice Beginner? How did you find out I have an affinity for chaos?'

'According to your aura. I don't know how strong one must be to sense that too.'

Bob looked at Nina because he wanted to talk to her, but he noticed something strange. She was staring at the ground and shaking all over.

"Nina?"

No answer.

"Nina?!" Bob shouted a little louder.

Still no answer.

"Hm, I don't know what could have happened to her. Probably some illness," Bob sighed.

'It's probably some severe psychological trauma. Getting traumatized just for the sake of it? Haha, these people are really weird,' Remo echoed.

Bob then looked ahead and saw the bloody carnage.

"Hmm."

He walked over to Nina and gently lifted her neck, being careful not to break it, as it was very easy for him.

Nina's eyes were full of tears, which had ruined her makeup, but she wasn't crying anymore. Her eyes stared into nothingness, and she didn't react at all. Bob pulled away from her.

"Hmm," Bob muttered aloud.

"I guess I don't have any other choice," Bob sighed.

Bob pointed his sword at her neck and chest.

Boom.

A swirl of blood began pulling from her wound, followed by the sound of her severed head hitting the ground.

Tears began streaming down Bob's face. She had been the only person he could talk to.

'Get rid of this human weakness. She was just a mere creature. If she were a family member, I would understand, but I wish she was, Bob,' Remo echoed.

Bob wiped the tears from his face and punched himself hard in the chest.

[-40 HP]

Bob looked down at his chest and screamed.

"I need to get rid of this weakness!" he yelled.

Bob cried. It had been a long time since he had done so. He used to cry a lot when he was younger because of his parents, who forbade him from doing many things. At first, he would swim sometimes at Danzel's, but over time he grew used to what he was doing and his position.

Bob sat back down on the floor and began to think.

[The system is updating...]

[Congratulations, your system has updated to the latest version.]

Bob looked up when he saw the system message.

He decided to see what was new.

[Stats] [Shop]

'Hmm, looks like I can buy stuff without Addak now,' said Bob.

Bob clicked on [Shop].

[Skill boxes] [Weapon boxes] [Armor boxes] [Wheel of Fortune]

Now, Bob could buy armor and weapons too, not just skills, and there was a Wheel of Fortune.

A large wheel appeared on his screen, filled with various items and question marks. Above the wheel, it stated that rewards would change daily. Below the wheel, it displayed "5000 coins," and it also noted that the wheel's price would increase by 5000 coins each month.

Bob wanted to close the wheel menu, but suddenly, instead of "5000 coins," it displayed "1xFREE."

Bob knew how the wheel worked because there were many casinos where he lived. One day, after a long time, Danzel gave him a few dollars and let him go out for a walk. Bob decided to visit a casino, where his gaze fell on a Wheel of Fortune. One spin cost 10 dollars—exactly how much Danzel had given him. He didn't hesitate and spun the wheel. Bob waited excitedly, his eyes fixed on the big wheel. In the end, he won 3 dollars. Angry and disappointed, Bob stormed out of the casino, slamming the door behind him.

With an adrenaline rush, Bob pressed the [x1 FREE] button. The red wheel with yellow lights began to spin.

[You win: Shadow Cloak (Rare Armor)]

Once upon a time, a famous thief tried to rob a church. After some time, he successfully robbed it, but to his disappointment, he only found fake gold and a strange dark white gem that gave him an eerie feeling. When he shook the gem, to his surprise, a cloak appeared instead. When wearing the cloak, you take -10% damage. If you drain mana into the cloak, you become invisible to everyone for 3 minutes. This can be used once a day.

[13 watchers are surprised by your luck.]

Bob was surprised that he got a description because, when he had opened the box for his sword, he didn't get any description or information about its bonuses.

Still, he had managed to get a rare item, which reminded him that a rare random skill box cost 50,000 coins, and a rare random armor box would likely cost a similar amount. To Bob, this cloak equaled incredible luck.

Bob pressed [OK], which was below the description.

[Shadow Cloak was automatically added to your inventory.]

Bob pulled the cloak out of his inventory. The cloak was black as night and about as long as he was. When he held it in his hand, he noticed the material was quite rough, which surprised him because it had appeared soft to the eye.

'Remo, what do you think of this?'

'How did you get that?!' You could hear the surprise in Remo's voice.

'You don't see the system?' Bob asked in surprise.

'I guess I forgot to tell you, but no, I don't see the system. Although I can see through your eyes, I can't see the system,' Remo replied.

'Anyway, I can sense the shadow mana from it, which is rare mana,' Remo continued.

'I got a description that says it can make me invisible for 3 minutes, and it can be used once a day,' Bob explained.

'A useful item if you know how to wield it properly, hehe,' said Remo, sounding in a good mood.
