"So, Little plum... tell me more about this Human world."
Xuan Yan smiled wryly upon hearing this: 'She is still calling me little plum...'
He looked at her 'confused' "Aren't you a human? And you don't know about the Human world? How come you are in the center of this forest?"
H-Huh? Hearing this, Xiao Wu was startled and she looked away, her eyes darting in panic.
"T-That's I..."
Xuan Yan's gaze narrowed 'Let's see how this 6 year old comes up with an excuse. What's she gonna say? I am Tarzan and I was born here and the Gorilla here raised me?'
'First of all, I will need to make this naive girl believe in me...'
With a shake of her head, Xiao Wu spoke "No, No Little plum, that's a secret... I can't tell you that."
"Now, tell me more about the Human world. I want to know everything... what it's like, what people eat, and what they do."
Seeing her genuine curiosity, Xuan Yan let out a sigh and relented.
He leaned back against the soft grass "The human world is big, Xiao Wu. There are cities so large that they stretch as far as the eye can see."
"Streets are filled with people selling all kinds of things... fruits, tools, clothes. Each city has its own traditions and quirks."
"That sounds so amazing!" Xiao Wu exclaimed, leaning closer to him.
"What about food? You said humans have all kinds of delicious dishes. Tell me about those!"
"Well," Xuan Yan began, his lips curling into a small smile, "humans are quite creative when it comes to food. There are roasted meats spiced with herbs, steaming bowls of noodles swimming in flavorful broths, sweet pastries filled with fruit, and dumplings stuffed with all kinds of fillings."
Xiao Wu clapped her hands together, practically bouncing with excitement. "Roasted meats? Sweet pastries? It all sounds so delicious! Do they have carrots?"
Xuan Yan let out a chuckle "Of course, they have carrots. Cooked in soups or roasted."
Xiao Wu sighed dreamily. "I think I'll love the human world if it's full of food like that."
"But it's not all good," Xuan Yan warned gently.
"The human world can be harsh. Some spirit masters often fight for power, fame, or resources. There are sects vying for dominance, betrayals between allies, and battles for spirit rings. You must always be careful and trust sparingly."
Hearing this, Xiao Wu eyes grew somber as she remembered about her mother "I-I see..."
Xuan Yan's gaze softened as he looked at her. "Not everyone is kind, Xiao Wu. Some humans are driven by greed or fear. But there are good ones too, like my friends and my teacher. You just need to learn who to trust."
(A/n: Bro really said his teacher, lol)
Xiao Wu nodded thoughtfully, her fingers absentmindedly twisting the end of her braid. "I'll remember that, Little Plum. But... it's a little scary to think about."
He placed a reassuring hand on her head, ruffling her hair gently. "You'll do fine. And if you ever need help, I'll always be there for you."
Her eyes widened at his words, "Really? You'd do that for me?"
Xuan Yan nodded with a smile. "Of course."
Xiao Wu smiled shyly, her usual playful demeanor momentarily replaced by genuine gratitude. "Thank you, Little Plum. I feel a lot better now."
They sat in comfortable silence for a moment, the sounds of the forest and the gentle ripple of the lake filling the air.
Xiao Wu leaned closer to Xuan Yan with a playful glint returning to her eyes.
"Little plum, if I ever decide to visit the human world, you'll have to promise to take me to try all the best foods."
Xuan Yan chuckled. "Alright. But only if you promise to be careful and not cause trouble."
Xiao Wu pouted playfully. "Trouble? Me? I'm as innocent as a little bunny."
Xuan Yan gave her a knowing look. "A little bunny who just tried to bite me earlier?"
She burst into laughter, leaning back and clutching her stomach. "Okay, okay, maybe I'm a tiny bit of trouble."
They continued talking well into the evening, with Xiao Wu occasionally pestering him with more questions about human life.
Despite her occasional antics and cheeky remarks, Xuan Yan found himself enjoying her company more than he expected.
Xiao Wu jumped and skipped ahead of Xuan Yan, her braid bouncing behind her as she turned to face him with a sly smile.
"Little plum, catch!" she called out, tossing something toward him.
Xuan Yan instinctively caught it mid-air and he opened his palm to find a plump orange carrot sitting in his hand.
He blinked at it in confusion. "A carrot?"
Xiao Wu grinned "Of course! Carrots are the best! Don't you like them?"
Xuan Yan held up the carrot, "I can't say I've ever been a fan of carrots. Raw carrots... not exactly my idea of a delicacy."
Xiao Wu gasped, placing a hand dramatically over her chest as if he had insulted her. "What? You don't like carrots? Little plum, how could you?!"
She marched up to him, poking his chest with her finger. "Carrots are amazing! They're crunchy, sweet, and full of energy! You have to try this one."
Before Xuan Yan could protest, Xiao Wu snatched the carrot back from his hand, wiped it on her sleeve, and held it up to his lips. "Come on, just one bite. I promise it's the best carrot you'll ever taste!"
Xuan Yan chuckled, leaning back slightly. "You're awfully pushy, aren't you?"
"Little plum, just try it!" Xiao Wu insisted, her big brown eyes staring up at him expectantly.
With a resigned sigh, Xuan Yan leaned forward and took a small bite of the carrot.
He chewed thoughtfully before nodding slightly. "Not bad, it's sweeter than I expected."
Xiao Wu clapped her hands triumphantly. "See? I told you! Carrots are amazing. Here, have another!"
She pulled out another carrot out of nowhere and thrust it into his hands.
Xuan Yan raised an eyebrow. "How many of these do you have?"
Xiao Wu shrugged with a grin. "A girl's gotta have her snacks."
They continued their playful banter until Xiao Wu suddenly dropped into a crouch, her body poised like a predator ready to pounce.
-_- Zhao Tian stared at her blankly 'What is she up to now?'
Xiao Wu smirked "Little plum, in the jungle only the strong rules... so let's fight and see who is actually stronger... muhehehe."
Xuan Yan tilted his head, a small smile playing on his lips. "Fight with you?"
"Don't underestimate me!" Xiao Wu declared, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
"I may look small, but I'm stronger than I seem!"
Xuan Yan let out a chuckle. "Alright, then. Show me what you've got."
Xiao Wu didn't waste a second and launched herself toward him with incredible speed, her agile body twisting mid-air as she aimed a kick at his shoulder.
Xuan Yan easily sidestepped, avoiding her attack.
Xiao Wu landed gracefully, her feet barely touching the ground before she spun around and swung her braid toward him like a whip.
*swoosh* The long braid lashed through the air with surprising speed and force, aimed at his shoulder.
Xuan Yan raised an arm and caught the braid mid-swing, his grip firm but gentle. "Using your braid as a weapon? Clever," he muttered, giving it a slight tug to pull her off balance.
But Xiao Wu was prepared.
Instead of resisting, she used the momentum to propel herself forward, flipping through the air and aiming a kick at his side.
Xuan Yan dodged the kick "You're like a little tornado."
Xiao Wu landed on her feet again, her braid whipping back into her hand. "And you're too calm! Aren't you even breaking a sweat?" she huffed, pretending to pout.
He shrugged with a chuckle "You'll have to try harder if you want to make me sweat."
Her eyes narrowed playfully. "Fine, Little plum. Don't blame me if I surprise you!"
This time, Xiao Wu feigned a direct attack, charging straight toward him.
But just as Xuan Yan moved to intercept her, she leaped into the air, her body twisting as she used her braid like a rope to anchor herself to a low-hanging branch above them.
With a powerful swing, she hurled herself toward him from an unexpected angle, her legs aimed at his shoulders in her signature Waist Bow attack.
Xuan Yan's eyes flickered with surprise for a split second before he reacted.
He stepped back and raised his hands, catching her legs mid-air before she could lock them around him.
The force of her attack was impressive, but his strength easily matched it.
"Caught you," he said with a smile, holding her in place as she dangled upside down, her braid swaying beneath her.
Xiao Wu wriggled, trying to free herself, but he gripped her tightly "Let me go!" she yelled, her cheeks puffing out in frustration.
"You were the one who attacked me," he pointed out in a teasing tone.
"Shouldn't I get to decide what to do now? So what shall I do with you now?"
Her face turned red, and she glared at him. "Little Plum, you're so mean!"
"Hahaha..."
