Chapter 7 - Hell Fire/ Phoenix Fire

Chapter 6 - Hell Fire/ Phoenix Fire

Yukio hadn't known about this so-called marriage contract before, and even after learning about it, he didn't give it much thought.

If it was going to be canceled, so be it.

Aside from Riser's arrogant and condescending attitude, Ravel's demeanor was quite polite.

To be honest, Yukio was actually rather thankful for their visit.

It was their arrival that allowed the System to absorb enough dimensional points and awaken from its deep sleep ahead of schedule.

If they hadn't shown up, the System would have been left to absorb dimensional points bit by bit each day.

Who knows how long it would have taken?

In a world teeming with the supernatural, the sooner he gained access to a cheat, the safer he would be.

"I swear on my clan's reputation that I'll fulfill it," Riser was clearly pleased with Yukio's attitude.

The most important thing for Riser was repaying the massive favor owed to the Fujiwara family, which had yet to be settled.

Now that the marriage contract had been canceled, it was his responsibility to settle that debt on behalf of his father.

This way, even if news of the cancellation spread, no one could accuse the Phenex Clan of being ungrateful.

After all, the marriage contract was being canceled peacefully, with both parties in agreement.

Yukio smirked. "That's how a brother should act. Well done."

"My care for my sister is something a brat like you could never understand."

Yukio's words seemed to please Riser.

This was the first time in their conversation that Riser felt Yukio had said something reasonable.

He'd been on the verge of exploding from frustration earlier, especially since even Ravel had started doubting his responsibility as a brother.

Now, at last, he felt a shred of vindication.

"With your love for your sister, I'm sure you'll fulfill even the most outrageous request," Yukio said with a teasing grin, his tone deliberately provocative.

'Let's see if you regret this later, Riser', Yukio thought.

"As long as it's within my power, I'll naturally fulfill it," Riser replied confidently.

He then took out a small card and placed it on the table.

He didn't seem concerned in the slightest about what kind of request Yukio might make.

After all, what extravagant demands could a human possibly have?

In the eyes of devils, human desires boil down to wealth, power, beauty, or longevity.

None of these were particularly challenging for a devil to provide.

Yukio glanced at the card.

It resembled a business card, but a pattern similar to a magic circle was inscribed on it.

"What's this?" Yukio asked.

In truth, he had already guessed that it was likely some sort of summoning circle.

"This card contains my contact information," Riser explained.

Yukio picked it up, turning it over in his hands, and asked mockingly, "Where's the contact information on this?"

Seriously?

Hiding your identity as a devil and then handing a summoning circle?

'What's the point of this charade?' Yukio barely suppressed his laughter.

"You'll understand when the time comes," Riser replied. "When you truly have a wish, hold this card, and I'll come to you."

"This is a special item made by our family. Naturally, its function is… different from what you're used to."

Riser deliberately left out the fact that it was a summoning circle, choosing instead to describe it vaguely.

In his mind, he was already imagining how grand his entrance would be if Yukio ever used the card to summon him.

He wanted to appear in the flashiest way possible, just to awe and intimidate this irritating brat.

When that day came, Riser thought, he would savor Yukio's reaction and teach him just how insignificant he was compared to a devil.

"You take this card," Riser continued, "and return the badge my family. It's a token exchanged between our families."

Yukio raised an eyebrow.

At this moment, Ravel took out a red badge with a fiery bird design, its intricate patterns resembling a phoenix reborn from ashes.

Yukio searched his memories and eventually recalled that the badge wasn't in his possession.

It had been stored as a keepsake by the Fujiwara family.

"Wait here a moment," Yukio said as he made a call, instructing someone to deliver the item.

Not long after, the badge was brought to him.

"This is it!" Riser and Ravel confirmed, recognizing the familiar aura of their clan crest.

They carefully retrieved it from Yukio's hands.

With the marriage contract canceled and the clan crest reclaimed, the purpose of their visit was finally achieved.

"Then we'll take our leave," Ravel said with a graceful bow, performing a lady's salute before turning to leave with Riser.

"System, copy Hell Fire for me," Yukio silently commanded before they could leave entirely.

[Consume 50,000 dimensional points. Copy of Hell Fire successful.]

[Would the host like to use it now?]

The system's asked.

"No," Yukio replied.

He planned to wait until the siblings were completely gone before using it.

After all, who knew if there might be any visible abnormalities when copying it?

It would be disastrous if Riser or Ravel noticed anything.

"You're smarter than I thought!" Riser smirked as he prepared to leave.

"Make sure to think of your wish soon. I'm looking forward to our next meeting."

"I am too," Yukio replied with a cryptic smile.

"Hmph!" Riser snorted, secretly relishing the thought of showing off when the time came.

"Let's go. I feel uncomfortable staying here for long."

Yukio waited until the siblings had completely left before turning his attention back to the system panel.
