Dukel's eyes flashed with inspiration. "The biomagnetic field seems to have a lot in common with the methods of spiritual practice."
In an instant, his mind opened up.
He picked up a pen and began writing on the draft while simultaneously using his subtle mind to look inward, observing his own synapses.
"If there is a potential difference at the synapse, an electric current will surely be generated," he thought.
According to Dukel's calculations, these weak electric currents even concealed the secrets of creation. The distribution of nerves was both extensive and intricate.
Dukel focused on just a piece of skin on his arm.
Every square centimeter contained 75 centimeters of nerves, 6,400 nerve endings, 1,200 contacts, 20 cold spots, 90 hot spots, and 150 pressure points. The bioelectricity generated by these nerves was as high as several amperes.
"You truly deserve to be called the body of a Primarch," Dukel muttered to himself.
"This data doesn't resemble anything human at all!"
His body structure was too complex to observe in its entirety. He decided to start with simpler goals.
Dukel shifted his thinking and focused only on the work performed by the electric current, without delving into its essence.
This time, the calculations went very smoothly.
"As expected, there's indeed some connection between the biomagnetic field and the methods of spiritual cultivation," he concluded.
"To use spiritual energy to control microscopic and macroscopic electromagnetic forces at the conscious level requires incredibly high precision. It needs... Damn it!"
During one attempt, a burst of lightning exploded on Dukel's arm. Although it didn't harm his demigod body, it startled him.
Ignoring this incident, Dukel continued recording his thoughts:
"It probably requires entering the third level of the fixed spiritual realm and reaching the stage of spiritual projection to achieve such precision."
[Biomagnetic Field Technology: Magnetic Field Push — Completed!]
As Dukel gradually perfected this technology, he attempted to take it further. However, after a series of failures, he finally set his pen down.
"The subsequent development of biomagnetic field technology is gradually moving toward idealism," he remarked.
"It seems difficult to complete further deductions with the current level of spiritual cultivation techniques alone."
"Perhaps we could consider capturing a greenskin Ork and studying it?" he pondered.
"The ancient sage technology embedded in my psychic abilities seems to follow a similar path."
After finishing the experiment, Dukel summarized his findings.
It was worth noting that biomagnetic field technology had to be used alongside advanced spiritual practices. Extreme emotions could influence bioelectricity, and significant fluctuations in bioelectricity would directly impact the biomagnetic field.
This created a situation where the greater the emotional fluctuations, the stronger the biomagnetic field. Conversely, the stronger the biomagnetic field, the greater the emotional fluctuations.
Such dynamics—where the crazier a person was, the stronger they became, and the stronger they became, the crazier they were—were not unacceptable in the Warhammer universe.
However, Dukel didn't want to see this happen.
He was primarily concerned that excessive emotional fluctuations could disrupt the Heart Network. A few individuals might not pose a problem, but if thousands, tens of thousands, or even millions of members experienced extreme emotions beyond the network's capacity, it would overload the system.
After concluding his findings, Dukel uploaded the results of his research to the Heart Network:
[Fetal Breathing-Level Mind Cultivation Technique: Angel of the Seat — Available on the Heart Network Mall. Price: 1000 points.]
[Blessing: Soul Fire — Capable of burning Chaos Demons, dispelling Warp corruption, purifying curses, and more. Price: 0 (Prerequisite: Completion of the Fetal Breathing-Level Mind Cultivation).]
[Biomagnetic Field Technology: Electromagnetic Propulsion — Allows rapid strength enhancement and mastery of extraordinary abilities. Price: 0 (Prerequisite: Completion of the Fetal Breathing-Level Mind Cultivation).]
The reason Soul Fire and Biomagnetic Field Technology were priced at zero was that Dukel intended to make these three abilities standard for all Heart Network members. He hoped these skills would establish unique characteristics for the Second Legion in the future.
After uploading, Dukel didn't look at the reactions of Heart Network members. Instead, he exited the network and stretched in his chair. He felt that the capabilities derived from the network's computational power were already sufficient and needed to be digested.
In the following days, Dukel continued his daily spiritual practice while inspecting the implementation of policies.
The renovations of battleships and power armor showed encouraging progress and were nearing completion, providing solid support for the next Great Crusade.
With the implementation of policies benefiting the people, the mental state of Imperial citizens had visibly improved. Most people had regained enthusiasm and hope for their future lives.
Apart from finalizing policies and setting directions, Dukel refrained from getting involved in the details. Mortals had their own responsibilities, and as a demigod, he found it inappropriate to interfere too much.
In truth, he simply didn't want to deal with the fanatical gazes of Ecclesiarchy officials and Parliament members. He preferred staying in his room, immersed in calculations, to facing their zealous stares.
A few days later, on Ophelia VII at the Mechanicus Foundry, Dukel stood atop a high platform, watching workers forge a starship bell.
Suddenly, Sister Efilar, clad in silver-white power armor, hurried toward him.
"Your Highness Dukel, something has happened," she said, bowing respectfully.
"If it's urgent, there's no need for such formalities, Efilar," Dukel replied, his tone gentle. His psychic presence spread out, calming the panic in her heart.
Efilar quickly explained:
"We've discovered a highly infectious disease spreading rapidly across several worlds. The symptoms include uncontrollable laughter, skin ulceration, and an irresistible urge to attack others indiscriminately."
"The Sisters have named it 'Laughter Syndrome.' It only infects mortals, particularly the wealthy and powerful, and spreads with terrifying efficiency."
Hearing this, Dukel sat in his chair, his massive frame settling as he contemplated. Internally, he cursed the Plague God, Nurgle.
In this universe, any bizarre disease with extraordinary symptoms was undoubtedly Nurgle's work. After only a few months of peace, the Chaos God had struck again.
"Did you bring back an infected individual?" Dukel asked.
Efilar nodded. "An Astra Militarum soldier. He's contained in a sealed chamber."
Two doctors in full protective suits brought forth the infected soldier. But as the patient neared Dukel, something miraculous occurred. The soldier, previously frenzied, suddenly calmed, and the festering wounds on his body began to heal rapidly.
"Praise the Emperor!" Efilar exclaimed, her voice filled with awe. "The Son of the Emperor is holy, the savior of all, banishing all suffering!"
The devout followers nearby knelt in reverence, offering prayers to their miraculous savior.
Dukel, however, narrowed his eyes, his gaze sharp and dangerous.
"This is Nurgle's work," he thought grimly. "A blatant ploy to force me into the epidemic zones. Alleviating the plague personally would only serve their schemes."
