Chapter 2 - chapter2

Looking at the steady fluctuations and data on the detector, Nurse Joy said to Ethan, "The egg is in good health. As long as you keep taking care of it, I believe it will hatch soon."

This made Ethan feel more at ease. After all, when he chose the Pokémon egg, he didn't expect the game to take this turn. According to the usual routine of previous generations, he should have set out from home after creating the character, met his neighbors, and gotten the three starters. But now, all these plots were gone, and he appeared in a remote place like Orudran City.

If he had known earlier, he might have chosen not to take the Pokémon egg and proceeded normally. However, Ethan changed his mind. After all, he had played so many Pokémon games, and this unexpected development was quite novel. After that, Ethan took the Pokémon egg from Nurse Joy and held it carefully in his arms. Since the egg was in good health, he just needed to wait for it to hatch naturally. The key was now to familiarize himself with the various operations.

Ethan tried to open the operation interface, but whether he swiped left or right, there was no response. This left him completely dumbfounded. No operation interface? How to save the game? How to exit? Ethan panicked and didn't know what to do.

Nurse Joy, who was standing next to Ethan, was very confused when she saw his strange behavior, so she quickly asked, "Young man, what's wrong? Why are you so panicked all of a sudden?"

When Nurse Joy asked him this, Ethan suddenly didn't know how to explain his current situation to an NPC. Could he say that he was playing a game and she was just part of it? How rude! Ethan had no idea where to start and could only say helplessly, "It's okay! I'm just a little tired. Can I rest in the Pokémon Center?"

"Sure! Just follow me to the front desk and register so you can rest in the Pokémon Center."

After Ethan assured her he was fine, Nurse Joy didn't ask any more questions. Ethan followed her to the front desk to register his information and then went to the lounge.

Once in the lounge, Ethan continued to try various actions to call up the operation interface, but none worked. This made him feel particularly speechless. It wasn't the first time he'd played a virtual reality game, but it was the first time he couldn't find a way to access the operation interface.

Finally, Ethan had to give up this futile attempt. He thought that sooner or later he would meet other players and could then ask for advice. For now, he should focus on hatching the Pokémon egg. After some self-reassurance, Ethan focused his attention on the blue-striped Pokémon egg.

In all previous Pokémon games, the way to hatch Pokémon eggs is to carry them around. So why not take the egg and wander around Orudran City? Anyway, Ethan had nothing else to do, so he strolled around Orudran City with the Pokémon egg.

After leaving the Pokémon Center, he went to the store, but because he couldn't open the operation interface, he had no money and couldn't buy anything, so he left helplessly. Then he went to the clothing store, where he heard that the day to commemorate the Bird Warrior Alang was approaching, and the store was offering a 50% discount on warrior clothing rentals. It was at this point that Ethan remembered this place was originally a city guarded by the Bird Warriors, and the giant tree was the World Beginning Tree.

He didn't expect such a coincidence—that his starting point was actually the place where the World Beginning Tree was. There seemed to be some deep meaning in this, but Ethan still couldn't figure it out. Based on the principle of not dwelling on things he didn't understand, Ethan continued to wander around Orudran City, but this time he wanted to take a good look at what this city, saved by the Wave Warriors, was like.

However, just as Ethan was leaving the clothing store and preparing to go somewhere else, the store clerk suddenly shouted, "Catch the thief!"

This sudden shout startled Ethan. As he turned to see what was happening, a monkey-like creature quickly rushed over, holding a set of Wave Warrior clothes. The creature had no time to stop and knocked Ethan over, causing the Pokémon egg in his arms to fly out.

If this continued, the egg would fall. Ethan, who was knocked over, was extremely anxious. As he fell to the ground, his eyes were fixed on the egg in the air, thinking about how to catch it safely. But just when Ethan was about to stand up, the egg in the air was caught by the monkey creature.

Seeing this, Ethan felt a moment of relief that the egg hadn't fallen. But the next second, his relief vanished as the monkey creature, now holding the egg, quickly ran out of the clothing store. What on earth was happening? With a look of despair, Ethan quickly got up and hurriedly chased in the direction the monkey creature had fled.

The monkey creature should have been able to run very fast, but because it was holding the egg in one hand, it couldn't use its wall-climbing skills and had to run along the city streets. Ethan also pushed himself to chase it, as the egg was his first Pokémon and he couldn't just lose it.

Ethan chased the monkey creature all the way until they exited the city. On the way, he picked up a stick. After all, he didn't have any Pokémon, and if he had to fight the monkey creature later, he might not be able to defeat it without a weapon.

Thus, with a wooden stick in hand, Ethan pursued the fleeing monkey creature into a forest. Suddenly, the monkey creature stopped on a tree. Ethan saw it stop and thought it was going to return the egg to him, but instead, the monkey creature turned its back, patted its butt, and smiled mockingly.

This provocative behavior made Ethan even angrier. He swung his stick at the monkey creature, but at that moment, the creature roared, and more monkey creatures appeared on the surrounding trees. Seeing so many, Ethan was a bit flustered.

"Goodness! You're planning to ambush me with a group attack? Hey! Let's do this one-on-one. If you lose, give me back the Pokémon egg!"

But the monkey creature couldn't understand Ethan's words. The leader, holding the egg, waved its hand, and the surrounding creatures began to close in on Ethan. Knowing he was no match for the group, Ethan had to retrieve the egg. He encouraged himself, clenched the wooden stick, and ignited his fighting spirit.

At that moment, the Pokémon egg in the leader's arms suddenly emitted a strong light. Was it about to hatch? Ethan was surprised but thrilled because he finally knew what Pokémon would hatch.

After the bright light subsided, a smaller Pokémon with a blue body, black legs and lower torso, red eyes, and black mask patterns appeared in front of Ethan.
