The Advanced Ability Academy was a sprawling institution. After all, students who awakened their abilities at the age of 18 needed at least six years to complete their education before they could graduate.
"There are eight teaching buildings here," William began explaining as they walked. "Six of them are for ordinary students from grades one to six. The other two buildings are reserved for students with personal mentors. Those with mentors follow their own instructors and don't attend classes with the rest of the students. However, when it comes to assessments, everyone is evaluated together."
He continued, "We'll be attending classes in Classroom 8 on the eighth floor of the eighth building."
Leo,Bella, and Finn listened attentively as William gave them a brief orientation of the academy.
"As for dormitories, ordinary students stay in shared dorms. However, since Leo requested special arrangements earlier, and because Bella's vision is impaired right now, I think it would be better if you all stayed together in my mentor's dormitory instead of the double dormitory I had initially applied for."
"My mentor's dormitory has three floors with eight rooms—plenty of space for us. It will also be more convenient for Bella if we all live together."
William's voice carried a note of resignation as he said this. Ordinarily, instructors and students weren't allowed to live together to prevent misunderstandings. William had already gone through the process of applying for a dormitory for Leo and Finn, but given Bella's current condition, leaving her in a shared dorm with other students seemed problematic.
Placing Bella in a collective dormitory would likely result in her being isolated or mistreated. Applying for a single dorm was unrealistic, as even William would need to pay a substantial fee to get one approved.
If Bella lived alone with William, it would cause rumors to spread, and that was something he wanted to avoid. Therefore, he figured the best solution was to have everyone live together, minimizing the chance of any gossip.
"We don't have any objections, but Bella, are you okay with this arrangement?" Leo asked softly.
After all, Bella was a girl, and living with them might be uncomfortable for her.
Bella smiled sweetly and said gently, "I'm okay with it."
She understood her visual impairment would make it difficult to live with other students, so this arrangement was the most convenient.
Seeing Bella's response, William nodded in satisfaction. He then led the group toward his mentor's dormitory.
All the mentors' dormitories were located in the same area, each housed in a separate building. William's dormitory was at the far end of the road, making it easy to find.
Upon entering, they found that the first floor was a simple hall with minimal furnishings, giving it a rather shabby appearance.
William led them upstairs, explaining as they walked, "The first floor is the living room and kitchen. Since Bella has difficulty with her vision, she should stay on the second floor. There are four rooms here; she can pick any of them."
"We'll stay on the third floor. I'll take one room, and you two can choose from the remaining three."
William spoke generously, seeming easy to get along with. Leo was satisfied with the arrangement.
After helping Bella settle into a room and set up her bed, the three of them moved up to the third floor. Once there, Finn and Leo picked their respective rooms. While Finn went to clean his space, Leo sought out William.
"Since I need to take care of my sister, I might have to leave the academy frequently," Leo explained.
William listened carefully before replying, "Why don't you bring your sister to the academy? Mentors are allowed to bring family members to live with them, provided they don't cause any trouble or roam around too much."
Leo was a little tempted by the offer but didn't decide right away. He was concerned about his sister's safety, especially since someone had deliberately targeted Mia during registration.
William lowered his voice and added with a helpless tone, "I'll be honest with you. I accepted you as a student because of your unique ability. Since our abilities are similar, it's easier for me to train you. Honestly, even if you went to one of the top ten academies, you wouldn't find a mentor better than me when it comes to beast-taming."
He scratched his head awkwardly before continuing, "But when it comes to Finn and Bella, I don't have much to offer."
"Nightmare abilities like Finn's are extremely rare. Since they lack direct combat power, no one has studied them thoroughly. As a result, none of the instructors here, including me, have a proper method for training someone with his ability. All we can do is let him develop naturally and allow him to sense his nightmare power in his sleep."
"So Finn will probably be sleeping most of the time to improve his ability. If you bring your sister along, you won't be too bored."
Hearing this, Leo felt helpless but didn't argue. Without William's help, he might not have gotten into one of the top ten academies at all.
After glancing to make sure Finn hadn't returned, William continued in a softer tone, "Bella's situation is even more difficult. Because she's blind, she can't fight normally. If her ability didn't require close combat, it wouldn't be as much of an issue, but unfortunately, her ability does."
William sighed, feeling sorry for Bella. If her eyesight were intact, she would have immense potential with her A-rank ability.
"For now, Bella will mainly focus on absorbing energy and getting used to her surroundings. She won't be able to contribute much during the assessments."
"During the academy's assessments, you'll not only face the general evaluation alongside all students, but also participate in the internal ranking competition between tutors. Only by ranking high can we gain more resources."
"The internal ranking is determined based on the collective performance of a tutor's students. Since Finn and Bella won't be able to help much during the assessments, it'll all depend on you. You'll have to train hard and not leave the academy unnecessarily."
William gave Leo a serious look.
"If your priority is taking care of your sister, bring her here so you can manage both without sacrificing your training. How about it?"
Leo remained silent for a moment. He understood William's intention—he wanted him to focus on training.
Given that William had already made several concessions and was genuinely trying to help, Leo eventually nodded in agreement. After all, he owed William for helping him get into the academy.
Seeing Leo's response, William looked relieved. If Leo had refused, it would've caused significant trouble for him. Now that he agreed, William felt much more at ease.
