Chapter 35 - Chapter 35: The Final Test?

Lana stood in the middle of the massive arena where the final race of the Velocity World Circuit would take place. The cheers of the crowd echoed throughout the stadium, but the pressure she felt was far greater than ever before. Her victories in the previous rounds had not only brought her fame but also placed her under the watchful eyes of even more powerful enemies.

Aurora approached her with a serious expression. "I just got a report. Viktor won't play fair this time. They've set up more traps, and there's a new racer—someone extremely dangerous."

"How dangerous?" Lana asked, trying to hide her unease.

"They call him Phantom. No one knows who he is, but he always wins in... unusual ways. He's not just fast—he's lethal," Aurora said, showing data from previous races.

Viktor's Plan

Elsewhere, Viktor sat in a control room with a large screen displaying the final race track. Beside him stood Phantom, the mysterious racer wearing a sleek black helmet that concealed his entire face.

"Your task is simple," Viktor said coldly. "Destroy Lana. I don't care how you do it. Just make sure she never crosses the finish line."

Phantom gave a silent nod, starting the engine of his car, which looked like a shadow given form.

The Race Begins

Lana prepared herself at the starting line. Rai, usually reserved, offered his final advice. "Don't just focus on speed. Phantom will try to make you lose control. Remember, this race isn't just about winning—it's about surviving."

The green flag waved, and the racers surged forward. This track was designed to be the most challenging yet—a mix of high-speed straights, sharp turns, and ever-changing terrain.

Lana quickly realized Phantom was unlike any other racer. He wasn't just fast—he was aggressive. On the second turn, Phantom nearly forced her off the track, making her execute a sudden maneuver to stay in the race.

"He's trying to rattle me," Lana thought, recalling Rai's words.

Sabotage on the Track

By the third lap, Viktor's traps began to surface. A hidden electronic device on a straight section emitted signals that disrupted Lana's car controls. Black Phoenix's dashboard flickered, and the engine began losing power.

"Aurora, I'm losing control!" Lana shouted through her headset.

"I'm working on restoring the signal! Stay calm!" Aurora replied in a panic.

Meanwhile, Phantom closed in with terrifying speed, ready to knock Lana off the track.

---

Aerial Duel

Lana regained control at the last second, but Phantom was relentless. They entered the Sky Loop, a spiraling track suspended in midair. The audience held their breath as the two cars raced along the narrow path, barely wide enough for one vehicle.

Phantom attempted another ramming maneuver, but this time Lana was ready. With perfect speed and precision, she used the momentum to leap over Phantom at a sharp turn, landing ahead of him.

"You'll need more than that to stop me," Lana whispered to herself.

---

The Final Surprise

As the race neared the finish line, Phantom unveiled his final trick. He pressed a button on his dashboard, and small wings unfolded from his car, giving him an extra boost that propelled him past Lana.

"What is that?" Lana exclaimed, shocked by the technology she had never seen before.

Aurora shouted through the headset, "That's illegal! It violates every rule of the tournament!"

Before Lana could respond, Phantom spun his car in an unusual maneuver, blocking her path and forcing both of them to slow down.

On the big screen, the audience watched as something unexpected unfolded—Phantom removed his helmet, revealing a face Lana knew all too well.

"No way..." Lana whispered, her eyes wide with shock.

"Lana," Phantom said in a deep voice. "It's me. Your father."

---

Lana froze, unable to process what had just happened. The crowd continued to cheer, oblivious to the drama unfolding on the track.

"You... you're supposed to be dead," Lana finally said, her voice trembling.

Phantom—or the man claiming to be her father—gave a faint smile. "There's so much you don't know, Lana. And Viktor is the key to it all."

Before Lana could ask more, Phantom sped off, leaving her in the middle of the track with more questions than answers.
