It was a strange dream indeed. Before, Lina's dreams always mirrored her own past experiences, except for that unknown woman by the grave. Yet last night's dream depicted something happening to The Princess Royal.
To place undue importance on dreams seemed absurd, yet Lina felt certain that what she'd seen must also have occurred in a previous life.
Before dawn broke, Lina was already awake. She practiced her sword forms in the courtyard, and once it was nearly time to leave, she returned indoors to tend to her beloved spear, polishing it carefully. Now that she was no longer strapped for money, she didn't need to wrap it in torn scraps of old clothing.
Finished, she set it aside, half-regretful. Compared to her previous life, things were almost too peaceful now. Though Lina sometimes yearned to prove herself on the battlefield, no one truly wished for war.
