Departures often come without a sound. When Lina Riley rose, Daisy Harper was still asleep. Lina stood by the window for a moment, then went straight to Sophia Riley's chamber doors.
"Second Miss."
Lina looked up to see Quinnley White standing on the eaves, arms folded. Lina couldn't help wondering if Quinnley ever slept. But now wasn't the time to satisfy her curiosity.
She had written a farewell letter for Sophia. Initially, she planned to slip it under the door, but now that Quinnley was here, she could entrust it directly. Lina took the letter from her sleeve and waved it at Quinnley. Speaking softly, she said, "Please give this to my elder sister."
Quinnley said nothing, just leapt down and took the letter. Lina knew she was the silent type, so after a brief "Thank you," she left the estate.
