The once thriving village was now a scene of utter devastation, diagon flooded with the blood of its people.
"mom!" Malcon shouted in tears as he ran into the burning village.
He could barely see due to the smoke from the burning house, but tried his best to locate his house as fast as possible. Suddenly he toppled over something cold and fell, he turned to see what he had tripped on, and his heart skipped a beat as he saw James head lying on the floor, flys perching on his eye which was wide open staring blankly at Malcon.
"No no no Nooo!" Malcon shouted, scratching his head as if he had gone mad.
"mom …mom…dad" he stood up again, his eyes clouded with tears. Ignoring all the dead bodies littered on the floor, Malcon ran home.
As he got home he quickly swung the door open.
"Mom," he muttered as he walked slowly to his mother, who was lying in her own pool of blood.
"mom" he repeated as he knelt down beside her , hoping she'll answer him.
She was bleeding from her stomach, her face was pale and her lips were dry.
"are you alright" she asked placing her blood stained hand on Malcon face, and forced a smile on hers.
Malcon wanted to reply so badly, but the world got lost in his mouth, still crying he nodded his head.
Suddenly his mom spat out a mouth of blood.
"I will go and get u a healer" malcon said, standing up, but his mom grabbed his hand, stopping him. And when he turned to look at her, he saw she was crying.
"I love you" She finally said, still smiling.
Suddenly, her grip on Malcon's hand lossend, until her hand dropped into the pool of blood.
" mom" Malcon called out.
Her eyes were still open, and she still wore a warm smile on her pale lifeless face.
" mom… mom…mom!" Malcon shouted, shaking her vigorously, but she wasn't responding.
"No… No… Please… wake up mom"
He lay down there crying, still shaking her.
He didn't know how long he lay down there crying, getting a hold of himself, he stood up and walked over to his mom, it was heartbreaking staring down at her pale lifeless body. He bent over to her and with his hand, he closed her eyes. He swore to find who or whatever did this and have his revenge.
Instantaneously the door at the back of Malcon was burst open, he turned to see what came in.
"Freeze" came a very loud feminine voice, stopping him from turning completely
Nevertheless, Malcon still turned only to see a lady standing in front of the door.
"Freeze" she repeated, as a fireball slowly appeared on her palm, and she pointed it at Malcon."don't move".
Staring at the fireball on her hand, all Malcon could see was the fire that consumed diagon, the bodies that littered the ground of diagon.
"Did you do this?" he asked, with anger growing inside of him.
For the first few minutes, she could swear it was a human standing in front of her, but now she wasn't so sure. His eye had turned red, and the aura in the room changed drastically, and for some reason choked her. She was tempted to shoot the fireball, but felt it won't even leave as much as a scratch on him.
"Answer me, did…you…do this" his voice echoed.
This time his voice was even more threatening, and sent shivers down her body. Her muscles were numb and she was sweating, regretting why she ever walked into this room.
She closed her eyes, taking a deep breath. this is what you have been training for all your life soldier, she said to herself as she forced her eyes open, though her eyes still reflected the despair of an unwinnable fight, but this time she was ready to die fighting.
There was a loud bang and the fireball went straight to Malcon.
"Shadow void," Malcon said, raising his hands towards the upcoming fireball.
Her eyes grew wide in wonder as a dark, vortex-like object spinning in a continuous cycle, pulled the fireball inward like a powerful black hole.
She looked at him, sweating, her gaze filled with fear. She had trained hard all her life to become a strong soldier, After years of intense training, yet she could feel the weight of death intent radiating from him—a lethal presence she'd been trained to sense and overcome. The aura that was emitting from the boy deemed her training useless.
"Shadow craft," Malcon said with his hand still pointed at the woman, a small back shadow spike slowly appeared on his hand, even from her distance she could see the sharp edge of the spike, this is probably my end she said to herself staring at him.
His face was a blank slate, betraying any hint of emotion, his gaze cold and unreadable
Suddenly the window beside Malcon burst open, as a man jumped in with his sword clenched tight on his hand, ready to stab the person harming his sister.
Malcon eyes widend in surprise as he saw the man that jumped in through the window, he quickly moved his hand that was pointing at the girl toward the man, but the spike didnt move. In a spilt second the vortex appeared, but this time it wasn't absorbing but repelling. The fireball that was once absorbed quickly shot out from the vortex, still in midair he slightly moved his body, and the fireball narrowly went past him. But the move cost him his balance and he fell to the ground struggling for her breath .
Seeing how distracted Malcon was, she knew this was her only chance, stretching her hand towards Malcon, she conjured up another fireball and shot it at him.
As she watched the fireball closing in on malcon, a smile slowly begun to light up on her face, only to vanish when reality set in. Malcon, who still had his gaze on her brother lying on the floor, but in the last second, before the fireball made contact with his face, he slightly moved his head and the fire ball jammed into the wall, shattering it in pieces.
How is that possible, he wasn't even looking, She asked herself. Her heart skipped a beat as her eyes met Malcon cold gaze, he flicked his finger on the spike that was still in mid air. And with a blink of an eye the spike was no longer there.
Looking down, she noticed a small, bleeding hole in her stomach she spat out a mouth full of blood. Her vision immediately became blurry and she fell down with her knee, struggling for her last breath .
Malcon felt a slight pain on his leg, and when he looked down he saw the man injecting something to his body, he quickly tried to react but whatever he injected took effect immediately, his vision became blurry and he fell to the ground.
